The Former Residence

I ran towards the light with all my strength, tears streaming down from my eyes. In the darkness, I was constantly tripped over by hard stones, tree roots, and so on.

Soon I came close and found that the light was a hole with a diameter of about three feet, surrounded by layers of cobwebs.

I removed the thick cobweb that blocked the entrance of the cave. I stretched out my hands from the entrance, grabbed the walls on both sides of the cave, and pulled my whole body out of the cave. The light outside the cave was dazzling. I covered my eyes and lay on the hillside covered with grass. It took me a long time to see things clearly.

I stood up and saw the hole covered by wild grass.

If I hadn't just come out of there, no one would have thought that such an unremarkable hole would have led into a dark lake underground.

"How is Cassie going?" I thought in a trance.

As I thought, I climbed along the slope to the top. A desolate road appeared and extended horizontally.
