By the time I walked out of the Luxury Nest, it was past midnight.

The guard had dozed off. After all, with the most advanced facial recognition system, this could be considered the safest gated community in Harresburg.

The people who lived here were rich and powerful and all went out in their own cars, so taxi drivers rarely came here.

After walking two miles, I finally got a taxi from Uber, but it was three miles away.

The driver was quite upset when he arrived. On the way, he kept complaining that he couldn't refuse the ride, or it would affect his rating.

After getting out of the car, I tipped him 10 dollars. He was a little embarrassed. "Sorry. It wasn't about you. I was complaining about the stupid app."

"It's okay. It's so late now. It's totally understandable."

Early the next morning, I received a message from Carol.

"I've bought you a train ticket for Auckleek at seven tonight. Pack your things and leave early. Don't miss the train."

I looked around. My things?
