The Truth About the Mystery Call

The middle-aged man seemed to think I was not a man to be trifled with. Not daring to speak, he got up and went to another carriage.

When the train arrived at the station where I wanted to get off, I got out of the subway station, and suddenly my phone rang.

I pulled out my phone and saw that it was Adeline's number. I immediately answered the phone. "What's up?"

The mystery woman's voice came from the other end of the line. "You cannot go to City Daily's office again."

It was the mystery woman?!

I was shocked. She used to talk to me directly about the case, but why did she suddenly stop me from going to City Daily's office?

"Why?" I asked.

"You just can't."

What a bossy woman!

I had a temper. "You get all smug about yourself every time. It's fine if you don't want me to go, but you have to give me a convincing reason. Otherwise, I'll do whatever I want," I said.

"You... Why don't you listen to me?"

"Give me a good reason."
