This Is Real Empathy

Adeline finally stopped watching TV. She turned off the TV and suddenly said to me, "No matter what others say about you, whether you care about my opinion or not, I want to tell you that I will always believe in you. I owe my life to you. No matter what you do, I'll always believe in you!"

"Well, thank you. I'm going out. You want to come with me?"

"Where are we going?"

"Let's go out for a walk. There's a grocery store at the gate of the apartment complex. Wait for me there. I'll be there in about an hour."

Adeline couldn't help asking, "Can't I wait for you here?"

"No, I'm going to do a thorough clean."

"I can help you with it."

"I don't want anyone to touch anything in this house."

Adeline sat on the sofa for a moment but finally got up with a sad face and walked out of the house.

I didn't ask her to stay. After she left, I began to clean up the house.

I wiped every floor tile and every window in the house perfectly clean.
