Getting to Felix's residence wasn't hard for Adrian thanks to Google Maps and GPS. When he got there, he easily drove in, thanks to the automated gates.
On pressing the doorbell, the door was answered by Felix, who was happy on seeing his superhero live in the flesh. Adrian looked in the house. It wasn't well decorated with party decor, neither did many people come. "Didn't you invite your friends, Felix?" Adrian asked the little boy.
"I invited you." Felix replied smartly.
"No one else?" Adrian asked again, concerned.
"No. I was told not to. You can't trust everybody these days." Felix said.
"Well what's the occasion?" Adrian asked in order to cheer him up.
"Well. Mom was discharged from the hospital yesterday. We're celebrating her extraordinary recovery." Felix said, smiling.
"That's great, Felix." Adrian said with a smile and satisfaction showing on his face. "But how? I thought her cancer was in its final stage." He added.
"Honestly, we thought so too. But when the doctor came to check on her yesterday evening, the results put him in so much shock that he passed out. When we were able to resuscitate him, he told us that the cancer cells have totally vanished from my mom's systems and that she can be discharged immediately." Felix said.
"Congratulations. Where is she?" Adrian asked, eager to see her.
"Oh mom's baking. She'll be out soon. And you should know, all this happened after that prayer you said for her. When she woke up, it was like she was different. For over seven months, we've only seen her 'dying' side. Seeing her now, she's different." Felix said, smiling with tears in his eyes. Tears of joy, apparently.
"It's okay. You're good, your mom's good. Everything's good." Adrian said while he hugged Felix, who was silently sobbing and dumping tears on his shoulder.
While Felix was still sobbing on Adrian's shoulder, his mom came out of the kitchen holding a big, freshly baked cake in her hands. "Hello." She said on seeing Adrian.
"Good morning, ma. Congratulations on your recovery. I'm really glad you're with your family now." Adrian said.
"It's all thanks to you, son. I'm sure I won't be here right now if not for your prayers. I'm grateful. Just sit. We're gonna have some cake. Jude! Honey!! We have a guest!!!" She said out loud, calling to her husband.
"Coming!" A male voice sounded from inside the house. Minutes later, Jude came out and stared at Adrian, then greeted him.
"Morning sir. Felix invited me. Told me about your wife's health. Congratulations sir." Adrian said.
"Thank you, son. You saved my family by just a few words of prayer. I'm grateful." Jude said.
"It's nothing, sir." Adrian said, smiling.
"Please, sit and make yourself comfortable. Anne is bringing cake." Jude said and took a seat himself.
Minutes later, Anne came, holding a plate containing chunks of sliced cake. She handed pieces to Felix and Jude who were present, and one to Adrian.
"Felix, how about your sister?" Adrian asked.
"Oh, right. She's inside. Doesn't like social gatherings. Took a lot of begging to call you here." Felix replied.
Adrian just smiled and started eating his cake gently.
Boris Dentine, standing among his cubicles stopped at one that contained a creature that had black feathers, and huge black wings sticking out it's back. The head of this creature looked like that of a falcon.
Boris drained the liquid from the round glass cubicle and the hybrid slowly awoke. On realizing it's in confined space, it began thrashing again and on the third hit, one part of the glass cracked.
Boris, on seeing this, smiles. "It seems you're stronger than the previous one." He said and pressed the electroshock button on the tab in his hands. It sent a shock through the falcon hybrid, which fell and began breathing heavily on the ground.
Minutes later, the creature stood and stared at Boris, with fear visible in it's blacked out eyes. Boris then held up a piece torn from Cedric's overall and put it in the creature's nostrils.
"Bring him to me." Cedric ordered. The creature nodded and flew out through the open skylight roof.
The creature followed Cedric's scent all the way to St. Nicholas Hospital. It flew through the balcony into Cedric's former ward. Then he started thrashing around, severing wires and throwing everything around all in a search for Cedric.
Some nurses and cleaning staff who heard commotion coming from the empty ward rushed in and we're terrified on seeing the demonic looking creature. The creature instead held them hostage and began asking them where Cedric was.
Unfortunately for the hostage staff, they had no idea where Cedric was and everytime they admitted to not knowing, they earned a slash from the creature.
One of the hostages got a message out to Nancy who alerted her friends in the News company and had them declare a state of emergency.
Adrian had another slice of cake, which Anne insisted he take since he had one earlier. He was on it when an emergency News broadcast replaced the E! Channel.
"Breaking News! A strange creature has broken into one of the wards in the upper level of the St. Nicholas Hospital. The creature has held some hospital staff hostage, demanding that the former occupant of that ward be brought to him..."
"You again." Adrian said.
Adrian stood up to go. "Thank you for the cake, ma. Thanks for everything but I have to go make sure my mom's okay. She works in the hospital." He said to Felix's mom but winked at Felix, who just smiled.
"Sure, son. But be careful. That creature doesn't look like something God created. Don't get hurt, okay?" Anne said.
"Yes ma." Adrian said and left the place in the car he came in.
He headed back home and parked the car. After returning the keys to their drawer, he came outside, spread his wings and flew into the clouds. Then he headed towards the hospital.
Inside the thrashed ward, the hybrid grabbed another female hostage and asked for Cedric's location. The lady shakily admitted she doesn't have any idea of his location. The angered hybrid lifted a hand and was about slashing her when another hand held his.
The hostages closed their eyes, expecting the nurse to fall like a lifeless corpse, but after about a minute, they opened their eyes and saw another person with big white wide wings holding the creature by the hand.
The creature looked back at Adrian. Before it could say anything, Adrian held it tighter and flew outside the hospital and higher up into the clouds. In the air, he let it go, then gave it a kick to the torso that sent it hurtling towards the ground speedily.
The creature landed on the ground with so much force that it created a webbed crack on the ground. Slowly, it stood, shaking its head to regain it's normal sight since that fall made its eyes blurry for a few seconds.
"You have his scent. But you're not the one I seek. Tell me. Where is Cedric Alexander?" The creature said.
