"Tell me. Where is Cedric Alexander?" The horrifying hybrid creature asked.
"He sent me. He's away on business. He'll be back when you're gone." Adrian replied nonchalantly.
"Liar!! I have been sent to bring Cedric, but it won't hurt to bring your corpse along as a trophy." The hybrid creature said and laughed menacingly.
The hybrid then flapped its huge feathered wings and flew towards Adrian. Before it could reach Adrian, the latter flew into the clouds in a flash. The hybrid looked up, frowned and followed him into the clouds.
In the clouds, Adrian positioned like he was standing in the air while the hybrid stood opposite him, staring at him menacingly, while flapping its wings.
Die!!!
The hybrid flew towards Adrian with its fastest speed but Adrian just dodged to the left, missing the creature's attack.
The creature turned back, on realizing it missed Adrian. It came at him again. Adrian didn't dodge this time but caught the hybrid by the neck. The creature made attempts to attack but Adrian was dodging the attacks easily and seamlessly. Adrian then slapped the creature across the face, and pushed it forward using his knee.
Touching its face, the creature realised Adrian gave it four long gashes on it's left cheek. Enraged, the hybrid came at him again. This time, Adrian timed the creature's movements and then threw a punch, which hit it hard in the face.
The creature, which was caught unawares, became unconscious when it got in contact with Adrian's fist and fell downwards towards the ground.
Doctor Andrew was about getting into his car so he can go to his family home for the weekend. As he approached the car and was about opening it, his phone rang.
He backed away from his car for a bit. Dropping the document heap on the ground, he fumbled all his pockets for his phone. He finally found it. It was his wife calling. He smiled , pressed the green button and put the phone to his ear.
CRASH.
Before he could say a word, the loud crashing sound of something hitting metal came to Doctor Andrew's ears. He slowly turned around. His formerly black and recently washed Toyota Venza was now a mangled mess. It looked like it was pressed from above. His phone fell from his hands.
He saw a black humanoid creature with huge wings big enough to cover the top of the car, leaning on the debris and coughing out black blood. Black feathers slowly fell off the humanoid and fell on the ground around the car.
While the locals around watched, a man, looking more like an angel descended slowly and landed on the car, the black winged creature between his legs.
"Spare me..I have seen your true strength *cough* and I acknowledge there is a big gap between us. I promise I will never come after you or your family again." The creature struggled to say.
Blergh.
The creature vomited a pool of black blood that cascaded down its black bird like face.
"That's quite an offer. But I can't guarantee your words. I'm sorry, but you have to go." Adrian said.
Before the creature could utter another word, it's throat was halted by Adrian's talons, which he buried deep inside the creature's guts. It began thrashing and shaking and after a little while, it stopped. Dead.
Adrian removed his black blood stained hands from the creature's guts. "This ends now." Adrian said. He grabbed the creature by its clothes and flew straight to Dentine's laboratory.
At Dentine's laboratory, he was working on another serum combination. He held a syringe containing a reddish-black liquid and walked to another corner of the room. He pulled a white cloth, revealing some humans, mostly females and teenagers, hidden in a cage.
He selected one, a young teenage girl, who was whimpering in tears as Boris pulled her by a chain. "Please." The girl begged Boris, who of course paid deaf ears to her pleas. Boris then proceeded to inject her in the neck with the syringe.
CRASH!!
There was a sudden crash like the sounds of glass breaking. Boris halted the injection, then looked towards his equipment table. The expensive glass lab equipment was in splinters on the ground and on the table was the corpse of a familiar creature.
Boris slowly advanced towards the table but when he was about 60 meters from the table, something fast came from the skylight and landed on the table, breaking the table altogether and raising dust everywhere.
Boris halted his steps. Through the dust, he could make a silhouette of a man with wings coming out from the dust cloud.
Adrian came out of the dust cloud and stared intently at Boris. In his black-blood-stained left hand, he held the creature's guts. Boris suddenly became shaky and scared on seeing Adrian's focused stare. To him, his eyes were like daggers plunged into his forehead.
"You keep sending these things after my family. I don't know who you are, but I'm going to warn you." Adrian said while briskly advancing towards Boris. Boris, on the other hand, began walking backwards till he had his back against a wall.
Adrian stopped about two meters from him and threw the creature's guts on his Boris' boots. "You send another of your monsters after us again, and I'll make sure to drop your guts at your feet."
Adrian said and headed directly under the skylight. Before he could leap, he heard soft a soft whimper coming from one side of the room. Using his inherent eagle eyes, he was able to locate the young girl Boris almost injected, together with the other youngsters in the cage.
Adrian became enraged on seeing the poor and helpless teenagers. He moved at light speed towards Boris.
"Release them. Or I will." An enraged Adrian said, staring at Boris with his eyes bearing that golden hue.
On hearing that, Boris threw all fear to the wind. "Listen, kid, just leave already. You've passed your message. Leave my test subjects out of this, do you understand?" An enraged Boris said, almost screaming at Adrian.
Adrian chuckled softly. "Test subjects you said, these are humans, not lab rats. Well, since you're obviously not going to release them, I guess I'll do that myself." Adrian said then began walking towards the teenage girl on the ground, who was staring deeply at him.
Boris came in front of Adrian and stopped him, threatening to call his security detail if he moves another step. Adrian's anger got to the peak level when Boris made this move.
"I'm sorry, mom." Adrian breathed. Then like a flash, he gave Boris a slap that made him hit his head on the nearby wall and pass out.
"Call them now. If you can."
Adrian got the teenage girl and the rest of the teenagers set free.
"Thank you." The girl said.
"Don't thank me yet, dear. We still have to return you to your homes."
Adrian took all twelve teenagers out to the side of the building through the skylight. He looked and saw a white bus capable of conveying about eighteen people.
"Can any of you drive? And does anyone of you know this city inside and out?" Adrian asked.
"I can drive." One boy answered.
"I'll navigate. I know this state like the back of my hand." Another replied.
"Good. Stay here. I'll be back in a minute." Adrian said. Then left. After about five minutes, he returned, bearing the keys to the bus he saw earlier. He handed them to the boy who said he could drive.
"There's a bus out there with enough seats for all of you. The gate is wide open. You guys should get out of here. Since you know your addresses, you should be able to get home."
"But what if he begins chasing us?" The girl who Boris almost used as a lab rat asked.
"Don't worry, dear. I'll be watching from the air. Now go. We're losing daylight."
