A Convenience Store?

Cedric and his wife were waiting for their deaths on the floor of the cab. Then they heard the driver's door open and close.

"Come on. Get up. It's over." Tommy's voice filtered in from the driver's seat.

Cedric tapped his wife gently on her shoulders, telling her it's fine to get up. "Get up, babe. It's Tommy. You need not be afraid now."

At first, Florence didn't acknowledge Cedric's words but soon decided to take the risk and look. She was surprised on seeing Tommy's buff frame sitting comfortably in the driver's seat.

"Tom? Is that you?" Florence asked, shakily.

"Yes, ma'am." Tommy turned around and answered with a smile.

"But how? I saw you get shot. And in the head. That's one surefire way of killing anybody." Florence said.

"Indeed true. But thanks to Hector here, that's no way to kill this big guy here." Tommy said while tapping Cedric on the shoulder.

"What do you mean?" A confused Florence asked.

Tommy started the car engine and began moving towards the exit of the dead end alleyway to the freeway.

"I gave him the serum. It made him as strong as a wolf. Turns out his animal ancestors are wolves and it seems to me that he's the strongest of them all." Cedric explained.

"Oh. Okay." Florence said casually. Her fear reducing. Originally, she was shocked that Tommy survived after she heard that gunshot and felt the need to take him to a hospital.

But on hearing that her husband buffed him with the miraculous serum, her mind finally came to rest.

"But Tommy, what if someone comes and sees that assassin?" Cedric asked, concerned about their trip.

"Don't worry. It's taken care of." Tommy said and smiled.

Cedric was still trying to understand, as the cab made a turn to the road that led to the freeway.

BOOM!!

There was a deafening explosion that made Cedric and his wife turn around in shock. They saw dark smoke rising from the alley where they encountered the unlucky assassin.

"The firefighters will find his body. If they do, we're screwed, Tom." Florence said.

"They will find it, but it'll be in pieces." Tommy said casually.

"What?" Florence asked, confused.

"I fastened the explosive I used onto the body of that cheap a*shole assassin. He won't be making it to hell intact." Tommy said, smiling like a kid who just witnessed a firework show.

The cab went on the main highway for about ten minutes, then entered the parking garage of a large shopping mall nearby.

"Excuse me, sir. You can't park here. This is exclusive to our VIPs." The security officer in charge of the exclusive parking garage tapped the glass of the cab and said.

Tommy said nothing to the man like he didn't even exist. He just told the family to get down, get their bags and come with him.

When the guard saw Tommy, he immediately apologized. He didn't know their biggest boss would be showing up in a mere cab. He was even thankful to God that he didn't even use any expelatives when speaking to them.

On seeing the security officer realised his mistake, he pardoned him, then went deeper into the parking garage with the Alexander family. Adrian was already woke and was slowly licking on a lollipop, while being carried by Florence.

At the far end of the garage was an elevator that had an operational handprint scanner by the side.

"A convenience store? Really? You own this place?" Florence asked, unsure of the turnout of events.

"Yes ma'am. I own this place. Cool, right?" Tommy said as he put his hands on the palm scanner, which turned green after about ten seconds, while Florence watched.

The elevator next to the palm scanner opened, revealing a wide space. The Alexander family, together with Tommy entered the elevator.

After the elevator door closed, Tommy hit the button with a triangle that had its prominent tip facing the ground, prompting the elevator to head down.

"You sure you pressed the right button, Tom? That's down and we're probably on the ground floor." Cedric said.

"Yeah. I was about to ask the same thing." Florence added.

"Mrs. Lex, remember what I said? About the secrets of my convenience store? Prepare to be wowed." Tommy said casually, the corner of his lips curving to a smirk.

DING!

The elevator indicator made a sound that they've reached their destination. Seconds later, the elevator opened, revealing a very unexpected sight.

Inside the underground secret bunker behind the mall, there were rows and rows of supercars. Lamborghinis, Ferarris, Bugattis, Lamborghini Trucks, G-Wagons, and even the rare McLarens littered the place like papers and crayons in a nursery classroom.

Some of these cars were being driven to various parking spaces and some were even on stacks that stretched to the ceiling of the bunker. Some others were being taken to the heights on forklifts.

"Surprise, Ms. Lex. I give you, my personal auto bunker." Tommy said in an enthusiastic tone.

"What? Are you seriously kidding me?" Florence said, obviously surprised. Even little Adrian held his lollipop in his hand while his sweet-stained mouth was wide open, staring surprisingly at the large number of automobiles.

"I knew you were special, Tommy, but this is way over my head, man. How'd you get all these cars? You even have a tank down here, man." Cedric asked, pointing at an armored tank few meters away.

"You'll be surprised, but this is gonna sound funny. All these were previously owned by different mafia gang bosses and previous Yakuza members. Drug Lords too.

After I was made Field Marshal two years ago, I made it my life's mission to bring down these groups. And besides, the boys were all bored remaining in the barracks all day. They needed some action. So they were happy to join this secret mission." Tommy finalized.

"If that's the case, just how many of these gangs and drug Lords are there?" Cedric thought out loud.

"Well we can't tell. But I feel there's more to come from these mafia gangs. The last man whose property we raided gave us twenty-three supercars; ten Ferraris, six Lamborghini Trucks, four Bugatti Chirons and three McLaren F1s.

So you see, these people are so f*cking greedy. Their houses have the most land and most beautiful designs, while the rest of their communities live in run down houses. And I've not even talked about the huge blocks of cash we found in their vaults." Tommy explained.

"This is a lot to take in. But, why are we here exactly, Tom? We have about an hour and half to get to the airport."

At that point, a Japanese guy came over to Tommy holding a car key. Then he slightly bowed to Tom and then to Cedric, who was beside him. The two bowed back.

Following Tommy's orders, Florence was shown a seat where she went to sit, with little Adrian on her laps still licking on his lollipop while smiling at the personnel who waved hello to him as they passed by.

"The convoy's ready, sir." The Japanese man said in plain English and handed a car key that had the Mercedes-Benz logo engraved on it to Tommy.
