Chapter 6: Kindness in disguise

We've finished eating when she led me outside to her car. Although I shouldn't be surprised by the brand she's driving, I was flabbergasted when I saw that it was an Aurus Senat, when personally I expected a Lada Granta or something of sort.

I took my moment to admire her car, while she prepares it.

"Maxine!" she shouted. I was startled by her voice, not noticing that she's calling for me.

Her eyebrows was raised as she is gesturing that I come in the car. Obediently enough, I silently went inside and was stiff still in the backseat.

I was surprised when she opened the door in my side, leaning towards me. "I never told you to sit in the passenger seat. Sit in front." she demanded and kept the door open. I did not reply back, but hesitantly moved in the front as I wear the safety belt.

She started the engine and finally took off. The vibrations running through my body drifted me to sleep, not noticing her suspicious actions afterward.

I was just awoken by a voice calling my name, and a hand gently shaking my shoulder and tapping it. "Maxine, we're here." Galina said. I opened my eyes and lifted my head that was leaning on the window, facing her.

"Wha..." I muttered. I looked around, and saw my house with my car in it. I also saw Alexandria at the front door with a doubtful yet awe expression, staring at our direction.

Galina got out first, turned around and opened my door for me. "Thank you." I uttered and gave her a smile.

I was about to go straight to my house when I checked on Galina, who is still not leaving, and just leaning on her car. My eyebrows furrowed, "You're not leaving?" I asked.

"Heh. You're not gonna be hospitable?" she countered. I was flustered by what she said. She drove me to my home yet I'm driving her away.

"Sorry... You can come in to have a rest if you want." I offered and led her to the front door.

Alexandria grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me abruptly, "Where have you been, you idiot?!" she vociferated. I stopped her by pushing her hands off, "I slept in a hotel since I was too drunk." I lied. I couldn't possibly tell her that I was out all night getting laid by a woman, can I. "Then who is she?" she whispered with Galina still behind us. "She's, uh, an acquaintance." I lied again. I really don't have to tell her that she's the woman who fucked me all night.

Since it's sort of awkward, I convinced Alexandria to just go home for today, for she doesn't have any work to do anyway. "Alex, is Iñigo sleeping? You should go home for now." I said.

She shook her head, "You must've have a hangover. You really think you'll gonna be okay alone, and with a stranger?"

"Alexandria, she's not a stranger. Just go." I demanded. She raised her eyebrows, but eventually sighed as I am hard to deal with. "Iñigo is upstairs sleeping soundly." she spoke.

After a while of persuading, she finally went and drove off, leaving me and Galina behind.

"Who is that?" Galina asked after Alexandria was out of sight. "Oh, it's just my manager, and also my friend." I replied. "Shall we come in?" I offered and opened the door, exposing an empty and lifeless room.

My house doesn't have any color other than purple and red. All white, grey and black everywhere.

"Well...it's very colorful." she sarcastically kid. I chuckled at what she said, since it's obviously the opposite.

"Have a seat. Do you want drinks?"

"Water can do, thank you." she uttered and sat back, trying to relax.

Her eyes was roaming, looking around the room while I was in the kitchen getting her her water. When realization struck me hard.

"Did I tell her my address?" I asked myself. Come to think of it, I don't remember giving her my address, be it in breakfast, or in the car. She didn't even asked. How did she know?

I went back to her with a glass of water in my hand, acting all natural with the plan of asking her how she found out where I live when I didn't even expose it in social media nor to the director and the entertainment.

"Here." I put down the glass of water on the small table.

I was about to question her when I suddenly heard a voice behind us. "Mama...?" Iñigo spoke in the stairs, his eyes widened and he looks frightened. Is he calling Galina, his mama?

I was about to turn to Galina's direction when a gun was unanticipatedly pointed at my head, and her soft expression became of lethal and body trembling articulation. She wrapped her hands around my neck, slowly pressing her fingers deep in my throat.

Iñigo immediately ran upstairs in a panic, while I was frozen in Galina's hands. "So you do have him. I wonder why?" she said slowly that made it more intimidating. I couldn't of anything as a response, I don't know how to escape. I was scared, and hopeless.

"H-he's not kidnapped by me! I swear!" I shouted unconsciously. Maybe my mind thought she's accusing me of kidnap, since there's a possibility he's her kid. In addition, she and Iñigo does look a like.

"I didn't even say anything. You're too damn suspicious." she responded as she tapped her gun at my temple, making me realize how heavy it was.

I decided to close my eye tightly, just waiting and accepting whatever happens next, when a vociferate of a young boy was heard.

"Mama, stop!" Iñigo looks worried now. His expression changed drastically, when earlier he's like a chicken in panic running upstairs to hide. I don't blame him though, he's just a little boy, I would've done the same if I were him.

Galina loosened her grip on me, and focused on Iñigo alone. "Iñigo! Come to mama. I'll save you from the evil." she uttered. At that moment, I didn't doubt Iñigo's reason on why he was on that street that time. It's now clear he ran away, because of his terrible manipulative mother. He must've been fed up with her.

"But mama.. you're the evil." Iñigo replied.
