Chapter 41 : Fight to the End

I couldn’t help but gasp in horror at the sight before me. Manny was attacking Tahir with almost animalistic ferocity. There was a crazed, manic look in his eyes that I had never seen on him before. Tahir wasn’t fighting back. He was dodging and deflecting Manny’s attacks easily enough, but it was taking most of his focus. I was worried that Popescu was going to use the distraction to attack, although he hadn’t moved at all since the onslaught began.

Tahir was taking care not to turn his back towards any of them. Leilani was watching tensely with her fists clenched at her sides. She clearly wanted to take action, but she was holding back. I wasn’t sure why, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Tahir had ordered her to guard the others.
