We were supposed to be getting ready to drive to the airport. We were leaving for France later that morning, and we couldn’t be late for our flight. Ziv packed the car last night, so all we had to do was shower, change, and pack our carry-on bags. 


Riley and Leilani took an earlier flight. I thought it was strange that we all didn’t travel together, but Tahir explained that it was a precaution. When they were forced to travel with multiple magical items, they would split them up. 


He explained that sometimes the items would react to one another and the outcomes could be hard to predict. It was just safer to keep them separate until he could store them appropriately. 


So, Leilani and Riley took the dagger and the scepter and went on ahead. She’d packed them into her carry-on bag as if they were totally normal items to travel with. I wasn’t sure how they were going to get the dagger through security, but Tahir told me that Leilani could handle it.
