“How are you feeling, Beth?” a woman I vaguely recognized asked me. I was in an actual hospital room. No more freaky basement homemade setups. Thank goodness. 


I blinked as she waited for my answer with a smile. Who was this woman? How did I know her? It would have returned to me quicker if I hadn’t just experienced that hellscape I was still trying to sort out. Was it just a nightmare? But it had felt so real… Had I just seen the memories of Zed, Daniel, and Rylan? Or had my mind made that up because of what Rylan had told me on the mountain—about how my father had imprisoned all three of them? 


I was so confused. My mind was like mush. The woman stood beside my bed, waiting for me to answer her question. Ugh, my mind was a chaotic mess. 


It took me almost five minutes to remember where I knew her from. The woman stayed silent and patient while she waited for me to respond.
