Chapter 32 : Ancestry

*Beth’s POV*

Holy crap, I was sore. I lay in bed for a moment, assessing my body. Ugh. My whole body was aching, like I had just climbed the tallest mountain in the world. What the hell had happened? The only thing I remembered was that I had successfully gotten Rylan’s childhood memories and destroyed them.

At least whatever I was put through, I had saved Rylan from the world knowing the secrets of his horrible childhood. I stretched and stood up. Oh my goodness! My legs were so weak. They shook. Geez, was I hit by a car?

I took a shower and braided my hair. I dressed in a simple white shirt and a dark pair of jeans and stared in the mirror before I went downstairs. Why couldn’t I remember what happened? Why were there so many gaps in my memory? Was there something wrong with me?
