Beth raised her head and noticed Daniel and me standing next to where she and Zed were. We were standing here watching them talk and Zed nibbling on her ear. Daniel’s hands were shaking with rage. He had wanted to come over and save Beth when Zed pointed the gun at her, but I stopped the younger vampire. Daniel’s eyes were bright red, and they matched Zed’s. It was pouring rain, and the wind blew Beth’s long hair around her face. 


“It’s no wonder you had been trying to stop me from tracking Beth and Zed here,” Daniel said, turning to me, his eyes growing even redder. I knew early on that Zed took Beth out to kill her. I sighed. 


“I was certain that Zed would eventually give up,” I explained. Daniel gave me a dark look, so I continued explaining. “I had to let Zed try and kill her. Because only in doing so would he realize he didn’t want to.” 


“That makes no sense,” Daniel scoffed, still pissed at me for interfering with his rescue mission.
