My body hit the ground, but the person holding me protected my head.


I looked up at my savior's face, and I gasped in surprise. Zed! Oh my goodness! He hadn’t died. He was safe and here with me! But we weren’t out of danger yet. The shock wave from the explosion that I’d set off blew us both away. I screamed as the wind whistled in my ear, and my hair blew around my face. Zed held me tightly to his hard body, keeping me safe. We landed in a desolate area. 


“Oh, shit!” I yelled when we touched down. 


Zed took all of the impact. We were now far away from the base. Zed and I looked at what was left of the headquarters. Fortunately, the Cinquemani’s base was located on a mountain, and it was pouring rain outside. The explosion destroyed the mountain, and the rain extinguished the sparks. When people discovered it tomorrow, they would think that the barren hill had experienced a landslide.
