Juniper and I were in her ensuite bathroom doing our makeup. We’d been up late gossiping about Matt and Reid. Juniper teased me about confirming the rumors about them, but it really didn’t feel like a big deal to me. Something about being with them felt so natural.


Tonight there was a formal dinner that Uncle Alex was hosting. All of the Alphas and Lunas were invited. Of course, not everyone would be there. It would be chaos at the festival if there were no Alphas around to keep people in line. Still, there would be a lot of important people coming and I was excited to meet them and, hopefully, make a good first impression. I was buzzing with excitement over the party that was starting downstairs, but Juniper seemed distracted and dour.
