Chapter 46 : Speak of the Devil and He Will Appear

*Reid*

Blaise had been my friend once. My best friend, in fact. Our mothers were friends and our packs were close, so we grew up together. He was a few years older than me, but he always included me in whatever the older boys were doing.

He never let anyone make fun of me either, even though I was a quiet and shy kid. I thought that we would be friends forever, but as we got older, it became clear that Blaise and I differed in a lot of important ways.

He was always a little bit pompous and he certainly had a chip on his shoulder. He thought that the Kozel pack didn’t get the respect that they deserved from the other packs in the territory. I could understand why he felt that way. His pack was smaller than most of the others and they had a reputation for being shady. There weren’t many packs that were willing to work with them.
