The Hokage office was drowning in stress. Hiruzen's pipe had burned out hours ago, but the sheer absurdity of the situation kept him awake. Reports flooded his desk from every direction.
Kumo had mobilized scouts.
Iwa was sending their infamous explosive corps.
Suna's resident psycho, Gaara, was giggling ominously somewhere in the desert.
And the cherry on top? Shin's bounty was now at a ridiculous 200 million ryo, making him the most wanted rogue ninja in the world.
"I should have retired decades ago..." Hiruzen muttered, rubbing his temples.
"Lord Hokage," an ANBU chimed in, appearing beside him, "we've received intelligence that Shin and his... companionshave taken control of the floating Sky Fortress."
Hiruzen froze. "...They what?"
Danzo, standing in the corner like the ominous creep he was, grinned smugly. "It seems the boy's ambitions are greater than we anticipated."
"Ambitions?!" Hiruzen nearly choked. "HE'S A MENACE TO SOCIETY!"
Koharu coughed. "Hiruzen, you need to calm down. We have to focus on our response. The other villages are watching."
"They're not just watching," the ANBU interrupted. "They're planning. Kumo has sent Killer Bee himself to investigate. Iwa has sent Deidara."
Hiruzen paled. "The explosion lunatic?"
The ANBU nodded grimly. "Yes, sir. And... Suna has deployed Gaara."
Hiruzen groaned. "Of course they did."
Danzo's grin widened. "Perfect. Let them come... and when they do, I shall claim the boy's eyes."
Hiruzen shot him a death glare. "Danzo, I swear if you so much as THINK about going near him—"
Danzo, unbothered, waved him off. "Relax, Hiruzen. I'm simply... interested."
Shin stood proudly at the helm of the massive floating fortress, staring down at the lands below with a smug grin. His arms were crossed, and his Uchiha cloak flapped dramatically in the wind.
Kyoki sat on the floor behind him, looking ready to jump out of the fortress at any second. "I can't believe we actually stole this thing."
Shizune, holding a clipboard, was muttering to herself. "This place needs serious repairs... and where are we even going to get food?"
Tsunade, standing next to Shin, cracked her knuckles. "Forget the fortress, Shin. When are you going to start paying up?"
Shin turned slowly, his expression innocent. "Paying... for what?"
Tsunade glared. "You know what." She patted her belly for emphasis. "Child support. Medical bills. Compensation for the sheer emotional trauma you caused me."
Shin rubbed his chin. "Tsunade... my love, my goddess, my wonderful future wife—"
Tsunade raised a fist. "Choose your next words carefully, brat."
Shin gulped. "Let's not talk about debt, let's talk about opportunities. Look at this fortress! We're rulers of the skies! We can run an air-based delivery service, start a floating casino, or—"
BOOM!
The entire fortress shook violently. Kyoki clung to the nearest railing. "What the hell was that?!"
Shin squinted through the windows and paled. "Uh... you guys remember that redheaded emo kid from Suna?"
Everyone ran to the deck, and sure enough, far below, Gaara stood ominously on a wave of sand, his arms crossed. His voice carried up to them, distorted by the wind.
"You can't run forever... The sand will have its fill of your blood..."
Kyoki shivered. "That dude is not okay."
Shin laughed nervously. "Don't worry! We're airborne, he's grounded. We have the advantage!"
Shizune pointed toward the horizon. "Uh... Shin... I think Kumo found us too."
From the clouds, Killer Bee and a squad of elite Kumo shinobi rode giant eagles straight towards them. Bee was rapping at full volume.
"Yo yo, you can't hide in the sky, got my rhymes so fly, prepare to die!"
Shin turned pale. "That's a giant man on an even bigger bird."
Tsunade cracked her knuckles again. "Great. Now we have every major nation coming after us. Fantastic."
Kyoki groaned. "Can we surrender now?"
Shin shook his head. "NEVER! This is our fortress, our legacy, our—"
BOOM!
A second explosion rocked the ship, and this time, a maniacal laugh echoed through the air.
"KATSU!"
Everyone froze.
Kyoki's eyes widened in horror. "Is that... Deidara?"
From above, riding a giant clay bird, the blonde bomber from Iwa cackled. "I heard you like explosions, Uchiha! Let me show you true art!"
Shin's mouth fell open. "Oh, come on! Why are there so many people trying to kill me today?!"
Tsunade smirked. "You did blow up half a village."
"I DIDN'T THINK THEY'D TAKE IT THIS PERSONALLY!" Shin whined.
Shin grabbed the controls of the fortress. "Alright, everyone, buckle up. It's time for... Sky Combat!"
Kyoki groaned. "That's not a thing, Shin."
"It is now!" Shin slammed a random lever, and the fortress lurched forward.
Gaara's sand surged toward them from below, trying to latch onto the fortress. Shin activated his Mangekyo.
"Reality Rejection!"
In an instant, Gaara's sand harmlessly crumbled to dust.
Gaara blinked in confusion. "...Huh?"
Meanwhile, Bee's squad closed in. Tsunade, annoyed with everything, leaped off the deck and punched an eagle out of the sky.
Killer Bee swerved away. "This lady's got some guts, yo!"
Up in the clouds, Deidara released a swarm of explosive clay birds. "KATSU!"
Shin panicked and hit another random button. A huge chakra shield activated around the fortress, deflecting the explosions. "Hah! Eat that, art boy!"
Deidara fumed. "Hmph! You're just another critic who doesn't understand my art!"
Kyoki stared at Shin. "You have no idea how to fly this thing, do you?"
"Nope!" Shin grinned, swerving wildly.
The entire fortress tilted, sending Kyoki flying across the deck. Shizune held onto Tsunade for dear life. "I REGRET EVERYTHING!"
Tsunade smacked Shin's head. "Get us out of here, you idiot!"
Shin sighed. "Fine, fine. Everyone hold on to something!"
He yanked the controls, and the fortress shot upward, straight into the clouds. The pursuing forces lost sight of them in the mist.
After several tense minutes, everything went quiet.
Shizune collapsed onto the deck, breathing heavily. "I think... I think we lost them."
Tsunade wiped sweat from her forehead. "We need to figure out how to make this thing stealthy."
Shin grinned. "Easy. We paint it blue and call it 'The Not Suspicious Floating Fortress.'"
Kyoki groaned. "We're doomed."
Shin put an arm around Tsunade. "Come on, babe. Let's make the best of our situation. How about a romantic evening on the observation deck?"
Tsunade glared at him. "You still haven't paid me."
Shin smirked. "I'm investing in our future, baby."
Smack! This time Shin caught the punch and grabbed her tightly. He laughed evilly and said, " You have been very violent honey, that's not good. Time for me show you true pain! Hue hue hue." He grabbed the protesting Tsunade and took her to their room for some private discipline.
And with that, their insane adventure in the skies continued.
