The Mist Mountain (part 2)

Kallie/Kiara's POV

I gasp. I open my eyes and look around. My head... it's spinning like crazy! Damn it! "What is it?!" I roared.

Someone was touching my ear. I heard buzzes. "You seem to be in great spirits, Ms. Kallie Harris?" he says. I sit straight. When did my professor come into our room?

How many minutes did I fall asleep? I hope it's not an hour or so. I raise my head and look at him. He's very young to be a professor.

I thought professors were middle-aged people, like what I have had for the last three years. I was already in my last year of college when this man became our teacher.

"I'm sorry, sir. I'm just tired because I worked late last night," I murmured.

I heard he's just 28 years old and owns Callix Chemicals. They produce famous perfumes and other things. I forgot what their other products were. He sighs.

"Then you should stop working late at night, Ms. Harris. You're already in the second semester, and next week you'll be deployed for your internship. You should know how to balance your time and take care of your health," he says.

"Noted, Professor Enrico…" I replied, yawning.

My classmates were laughing. My professor sighs and shakes his head. He went back to his table and touched the screen behind him.

"Listen everyone. I am your professor for this year and will be responsible for deploying you all in the field of work. We randomized the students who will be sending each of you to a different five companies. My company will have ten students from your batch," he paused.

He flashes the names of the companies and the interns that will work for the same companies. We're exactly 50 students, so all of them will have ten. I sighed.

I saw my name under Callix Chemicals. He will be my boss then. What a great day for me! After class, my professor called me into the faculty.

I was walking behind him, and everyone was staring at me. They're girls. Their jealous eyes were glaring at me deathly. What a bunch of bitches! They only dwelled on looks and didn't notice how cold he was.

He closed the door after I got inside. I heard him locking it, but I got ready for whatever danger I might face.

"I think you should change that attitude, Ms. Kallie. That won't be a good attitude at work," Mr. Callix says. I scoff and change my expression when he glares at me.

"I'm sorry, professor. I'm just tired from working and studying at the same time. I always take naps when I get the chance. I promise I won't do that when I start my on-the-job training at your company," I utter.

I hope he will take it as a valid reason. He sighed and met my eyes. I can't take my eyes off him. I feel like something is wrong. I don't know why. I gulp and blink barely.

"Is there a problem, Ms. Kallie? You're blinking as if your eyes got dirt on it," my professor says.

I shook my head and forced a smile. "I'm okay, sir. Really," I said.

Weeks had passed, and my on-the-job training had started. I'm glad I didn't get the chance to meet my professor on my first day as an intern.

I hope we don't have to work together or be assigned to a place where I can see him working. I feel nervous every time we meet.

I just don't know why. Days had passed, and my hopes crumbled. I am standing in front of my professor. Damn!

"You will be working under my supervision for the next few weeks. My secretary undergoes serious surgery, and he needs to recuperate properly. I'll train you for three days. Make sure to remember everything, okay?"

I gulp and just nod. I can't really look into his eyes. I feel like my head has become heavier and aches like hell. "Understood, Sir Enrico," I replied.

My hellish journey with my boss started today. He told me about his schedules, his rules, and the things that I have to do.

He knows how to help me, and every time he saw that I'm struggling to write everything that he wants me to learn, he paused.

He will repeat it again, slowly, and then continue the rest of his command. He's actually gentle.

"Remember our schedule for tomorrow. I need you at the venue at eight in the morning. We have to prepare for the event, did you understand?" Sir Enrico says.

I blink and nod. He saw me massaging my forehead. It's been giving me a hard time for the past few days. I don't know why. My headaches are getting worse.

My vision is getting blurry as well. "Ops! You need to rest," he says.

He catches me and leads me to the couch. It's already evening, and he asks me to stay for overtime and pay me handsomely.

I agreed because I need it to pay for my apartment. "I'm okay now, sir. Thank you," I stated.

My eyes dilated as soon as I opened my eyes. He's just an inch away from me. My head starts to spin, and things start to flash inside my head.

"Thank you. You finally broke the curse yourself. Love, it wasn't only you who wanted to protect this country. I wasn't going to do it either. This is for me to be with you until my last breath. Until our hair turns gray." I close my eyes, and yet everything starts to fall into place. I opened it again.

Everything became misty. My jaw clenched. My eyes are blazing in fury. I end up using both fire and water.

"Give back, my husband, you three-headed bastards!"

The water was used to form blades on their heads, and I burned their bodies right away. I was too mad because of how these dragons toyed with my head.

The water had successfully cut their hard scales. I coughed and spit some blood.

It was too dark, and the smoke vanished into thin air. I breathe deeply and fall to the ground. Fuck!

I turn around and look at the chimera, then at my husband. I look at the sky. That dream... It's been a while since someone called me by my real name.

What the hell did those dragons say? Grant me my real wish? Don't tell me my real wish is to go back there?

"Love? Love!" Enrico screams, running towards me.
