Lang-Horn village

the first thing Lucas felt as he was teleported into the starter village was awe at how well the game captured making it feel like a real world. he was able to smell the petrichor in the air from a passing breeze and could swear that the forest he was looking at was the realist one he had ever seen.

which it was, due to the war destroying the environment so badly that almost all big forest were destroyed or under such meticulous care to keep it alive that the government doesn't allow ordinary people to go there in order to protect them. with someone as poor as Lucas having no chance of seeing a forest in any other way than some pictures.

there were plenty of people around him who had just been teleported to the starter village who were also busy looking around in amazement at how realistic the game was.

the direction lucas was looking in was the wilderness where he and many others would soon go in order to fight monsters, level up, complete quests, ect.

following the first step of his plan he went to go find the village chief to awaken his talent, following the direction of where everyone else was heading as he felt the only thing they could possibly be doing at this point of the game is trying to awaken their talent to try and get any head start they can get on the other players

after a few minutes of walking and passing by some sturdy looking wooden houses that he assumed belonged to the residents of the village and some shops and stalls on the way. lucas and the small group of people he was following saw an even bigger group lined up in front of an old man who he could only assume was the village chief.

the old man had grey hair with muscles slightly bulging out of his old looking clothes. Lucas couldn't help but think that the old village chief must have been pretty strong in his prime.

after Lucas got in line to get awakened it only took about 15 minutes before he was able to get to the front of the line.

when lucas got to the front of the line the first thing he saw was an orb on top of a podium in front of the village chief. the orb was shimmering in deep colors almost to the point where it seemed like there was a galaxy inside the orb.

"please place your hand on top of the orb and focus all your attention on the orb in order to go through the awakening." the village chief said with a monotone voice as he had already said the same thing more than a dozen times.

following direction lucas placed his hand on the orb and tried to think about nothing but the orb. as he did this the world around him started to change as his consciousness left his body was taken to a place that seemed like a sea of stars with some of them being so small he could barely see them others having slight shine and uniqueness to them and a small percent of them being dazzlingly bright.

above all the other stars were 10 that seemed to make the entire sea of stars he was in revolve around them. he seemed to sense one of the 10 stars calling out to him as he swam toward it.

when Lucas reached out for the star the moment his hand came into contact with it he was brought back to the scene in front of the village chief as it seemed that almost no time passed in the slightest.

the only difference being the color of the orb as it was now pitch black with a crack running through it.

"this..!" the village chief gave an exasperated gasp as he was clearly in shock by what he had never thought would happen in his village.

all of a sudden the village chiefs' attitude toward Lucas took a complete 180 as he smiled politely and said "welcome to Lang-Horn village young traveler would you like to come inside and talk?"

"sure" Lucas said as he wasn't sure what the village chief wanted but he knew it had to do with the orb breaking.

the other players were flabbergasted as they saw the orb break with a few of them complaining as they didn't know how they would awaken their talent without the orb.

the village chief turned toward the other players as he said "don't worry everyone I will be back soon with another ord to continue the awakening process."

the players had no choice but to calm down after the village chief spoke up as they would gain nothing from getting the village chief's bad side.

after saying this the village chief turned around and started walking to a nearby house

as lucas followed the village chief into the slightly bigger than average wooden house the first thing he saw was a wooden table with four seats and a picture on the wall with three people. a young man looking to be in his 20's that resembled the village chief, a woman that looked to be of a similar age, and a little girl.

"please sit" the village chief said as he led Lucas to the wooden table then said. "would you like something to drink I have tea and water"

"water will do" lucas said as he sat down.

"ok I will be back soon with the beverages"

as he said that the village chief walked away and came back a few minutes later holding two cups. he placed one on the table in front of lucas as he sat down.

" young traveler as I know that most adventures like yourself seem to be in a hurry I won't waste your time and cut to the chase. would you be willing to help Lang-Horn village? not for free of course."
