46. A Confession of Love

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Shaga asked, his other hand, empty now, touched Adrian's cheek. He was slightly panicking at Adrian's behavior. The last time Shaga had seen Adrian cry was when he was injured and lying in the hospital. "What's going on? I don't know what's happening if you don't tell me."

"Did you mean what you said earlier?" Adrian asked, his voice weak as he touched both of Shaga's shoulders, his watery eyes searching Shaga's as if looking for lies.

Shaga put the pants he had picked up on the nightstand, reached for Adrian's cold hands, and held his wrists close to him. Suddenly, he found the courage to speak, amidst the fading Alpha pheromones. "If what I said isn't love, then what is it?"

Adrian's face changed to a dumbfounded expression for a split second, and he looked more foolish than confused. His mouth opened and closed as if he wanted to say something but hesitated. "Shaga, let's get married now."
