Yamato awoke with a startle as she struggled to get her bearings on where she was. Her skills were still in effect and a golden glow could be seen in her barrels as she slowly combed through her surroundings looking for traces of the Arbiter.
Her eyes soon saw a blue glow flicker in the distance and wondered what it was as her radar was giving her nothing. Her memory kicked in as she felt a strange sense of Deja Vu until she realised what was going on. She only had seconds to time this as her sensors picked up an intense surge in energy as alarms blared in her head warning her of the incoming danger.
Yamato exhaled just as the energy beam was seconds to hit her and she warped in the nick of time. When she exited from warp, the ice covering her broke away as her eyes met the widened eyes of Arbiter who clearly did not expect her to warp at all.
With her sword in hand, she used her Solar slash as her blade was covered in an intense blue fire. Arbiter after the shock smiled as she raised her gun to block Yamato's blade even if Arbiter's gun was made of durable metal Yamato's strength was not to be underestimated.
The blade cut into the gun and almost sliced through it but this knocked out Arbiter's super weapon levelling the playing field a bit more.
Yamato's main engine ramped up in output making the sword burn more intensely as Arbiter struggled to maintain the lock but kicked Yamato in the gut sending her backwards and giving her some breathing room.
Yamato stared at the siren as she brought up her blue cosmic sword, her guns acquired a lock on her and Arbiter did the same as she pulled out her sword which had a black colour with glowing dark blue lines etched into it, complementing her eyes as she readied herself.
Arbiter smiled since she knew she was about to get the rematch that she so desperately wanted.
The first to open fire was Arbiter as multiple blue lasers were rapidly fired from her turrets while Yamato responded in kind by firing back.
Her 15 golden transit positron rounds streaked across the dark space and collided with Arbiter's incoming rounds creating multiple spheres of white light as the 2 energies clashed and spectacularly destroyed each other.
Arbiter had to reset her optics blink due to the intensity and this was all it took for her to lose her lock on Yamato. This sent her into a frenzy as she combed the area where she was last seen but stopped when her sensors picked up on a warp-out signal right behind her.
This made her eyes widen before she twisted around quickly, her blade covered in her blue energy as her sword clashed with Yamato's sword creating a white light whenever the 2 energies clashed.
Arbiter held her ground before Yamato removed her blade ready for a second attack and Arbiter responded in kind as she launched her second strike, the 2 swords clashing over and over again as they moved in space.
From a person far away, they would only see bursts of white light at random places as the 2 continued their battle.
Yamato exhaled as her eyes glowed a red colour, her concentration sharp as Arbiter's blade flashed towards her again but this time the result was different, she raised her sword in a tight arc. Their blades met once again as a burst of white light erupted from the point of contact.
Yamato twisted her wrist as she deflected Arbiter's sword away but not without her sword arm enduring the full force of Arbiter's strength which was no joke, but that didn't matter as her blade slid along Arbiter's, pushing her sword aside as an opening was momentarily exposed.
Yamato capitalised on this as her red eyes turned into a bright blue colour, she moved in for the counter as her parry set her up perfectly, her sword raked across Arbiter her blue wave motion energy dealing further damage as it ate away at her armour.
Arbiter let out a grunt of pain before trying to get payback as her blade swung down only for her shield to get a taste of transit rounds as Yamato fired all her turrets point blank. The resulting explosion threw both Yamato and Arbiter a fair good distance away as an explosion was left in its wake.
Due to the proximity to the blast, Yamato's clothes were burnt and torn in some places but it was mostly in good condition. Arbiter on the other hand suffered more damage than last time but it was still too little in Yamato's eyes, she had gashes across her legs and arms as well as her rigging which had taken a beating from her transit rounds and finally the one slash that traced across her abdomen with all body wounds spilling yellow blood into the dead space.
Arbiter this time didn't simile as she looked at Yamato who never smiled in a battle.
Yamato maintained her stare before Arbiter seemingly vanished into the nothingness of space. This confused her until her sensors picked up minor sub-space fluctuations to her right side and Yamato immediately reacted as she propelled herself backwards escaping Arbiter's ambush before giving her dish of pain as all her turrets opened sending 15 transit rounds streaking into Arbiter.
Before they could make contact they seemed to disappear into a portal or something else entirely as she picked even greater fluctuations in sub-space around Arbiter.
This confused her until she saw Arbiter mouth something, "Big Bang"
It took Yamato a few moments to realise what she was saying as her mind flashbacked to that first encounter in the siren-controlled dimension but it was too late for her to dodge. Her sensors went haywire as multiple warnings rang in her head.
Right next to her, she could see the destabilised core begin to explode and she could do nothing but concentrate her shields and fire all the bubble shields she could to protect her and contain the explosion.
A few seconds later, Yamato's surroundings were filled with white light and she felt her sense of direction cease as she was flung like a ragdoll into space.
Arbiter exhaled as she focused on healing herself thinking that she somehow got rid of the biggest problem but part of her knew that that wasn't true and she believed it as she waited for Yamato's response.
Sure, enough a minute later, her radar began tracking multiple missiles coming towards her. Arbiter chuckled as she intercepted the incoming missiles easily with her point defence and some intercept missiles. Afterwards, she received another missile warning but this was behind her and much closer.
Arbiter quickly intercepted them but the speed at which they were travelling was difficult for her to track at such close ranges thus she ate 2 missiles to the face which temporarily blinded her and messed up her radars which was a terrible thing for her.
When her radar and sight came back online, her radar immediately tracked multiple missiles coming at her from multiple angles and their distance was super close which gave her little time to intercept making her brace for impact but received none only for her to discover that she was surrounded by blue energy that was similar to Yamato's and the weird thing was there was only 1 open side which was in front of her.
Her mind clicked too late realising it was a trap when her sensors went wild as multiple streams of transit rounds closed in on her and with no other option Arbiter cranked her shield to the max.
Yamato was not in good shape as 50% of her AA batteries were knocked offline and her hull had a number of breaches here and there, but her Manjuus were safe inside her ship. Her clothing was mostly burnt away but it didn't reveal anything since it was made of the toughest material in clothing.
She was closing in on Arbiter while continuously firing her transit rounds hoping to deal a devastating blow as her few Cosmo Falcons did an excellent job evading radar detection, releasing their payload and making it back safely.
Her eyes glowed an even brighter blue light as she was going to take it a step further to put an end to the battle quickly.
Arbiter was not having a good day as the shields around here acted as reflectors even if they absorbed some of the energy, reflecting the shockwave and heat produced from the explosions. This doubled the damage she had to go through and she reached her breaking point as she fired all her surviving weapons on the top shield which was the weakest, breaking out during the reloading process.
However, one problem led to the next as her radar detected multiple large missiles heading her way she quickly intercepted them but they created a dense screen of smoke in their aftermath which seemed weird until her sensors screamed at her as a potent crescent of energy surged from the smoke screen.
She was too close to dodge and her shield was depleted in the trap leaving her no option but to defend herself thus she ate the full brunt of that Wave motion slash which left a deep gash across her gut and to make matters worse she saw Yamato close in her with her blade ready as it plunged into her abdomen going straight through her heart and coming out the other side.
Arbiter spit out some blood in her mouth as her body ached from all the pain she was dealt.
"That was a good rematch" Arbiter smiled as she chuckled slightly, "but Earth is lost and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Not even your super weapon"
Following that Arbiter let her consciousness flow into a clone as the body impaled by Yamato's sword showed no signs of life. Yamato quickly removed the blade and flicked off the yellow as she watched the body float away into space, she wondered what the siren meant by that only for her sensors to report a massive energy surge from Low Earth Orbit.
The location matched where she last left the Sakurans and this sent her into a frenzy as her engine increased to maximum output.
"Analyser, can we warp again?" Yamato asked as neared the desired speed.
"We can but you'd be putting a lot of strain on your engine," Analyser replied highlighting the danger but Yamato never listened to the drawbacks as a blue cone erupted from her main engine bell.
"Warp!" she said as her body slammed into a rift in space and time that seemed slow at first but once her body and a good chunk of her rigging were through, she moved forward faster than light as time crawled to a halt.
Her exit point was behind the carrier line, not too close to the planet to mess with her engine but not too far to easily view the situation on the battlefield.
Yamato viewed the battlefield and quickly noticed that the combined fleet was here which meant that reinforcements had arrived but that was the least cause of concern as she eyed the large glowing red light being emitted from a large structure that reminded her of Dezariums Golba or a modified version of the Apophis she once destroyed.
That didn't really matter as her sensors could tell that it was almost ready to fire and the target, Japan.
Yamato didn't need to be told what to do as she immediately went into action. The kansens were doing their best to try and disable the siren weapon but it was too well guarded with even more cloned sirens appearing.
Yamato immediately found Ginga who was supporting Shinano and yelled to her through secure comms, "Ginga, I need you!"
Said sister immediately responded to the rally as she followed Yamato who was breaching the atmosphere in her kansen form. Plasma formed around her body as she slammed into the atmosphere and immediately cut through it.
"Analyser, give me a proper intercept altitude," Yamato said as continued her descent into the atmosphere, the plasma coating her dissipating as she soared through more denser parts of the atmosphere vapour trails forming from her wing like surfaces.
"Best intercept altitude is at 30,000 feet above sea level."
Yamato grits her teeth at this low altitude but takes it as she descends even further before stopping at the desired altitude with her sensors indicating that the superweapon is near firing.
Her missile cells opened up as she launched 16 bubble shields that were grouped in 4 forming 4 layers. Ginga, who was also in rigging form looked at the city below them which was none other than Tokyo, the capital of the Sakura Empire on Earth.
"Ginga, when it fires can you amplify all shields with your resonance at max output" Yamato said as a blue cone formed in front of her.
Ginga nodded her head as the resonators on her third bridge activated creating a large area of effect where shields receive a buff as well as weaponry. It came in time as the siren super weapon unleashed its firepower, the kansens failing to stop it as a giant red beam tore through space and the atmosphere before clashing with the bubble shields placed in its intercept.
A white light filled the surroundings as the 2 energies clashed creating a view that attracted the attention of some Japanese still in their buildings.
However, the energy proved too great for the shield to hold back as it busted through the first 2 in a few seconds with the third one holding out for longer but still proving too much as it was down to the last one.
Ginga strained herself as she amplified the last shield barrier with everything she had making it hold out for 10 seconds but that was all it could do as the beam broke through the final layer as it clashed with its final opponents.
Both Yamato and Ginga stretched out their hands as a large blue cone formed around them moments before it hit them. Both battleships activated their gravity anchors and stood in place but it felt like the 2 were being compressed since they couldn't move they gave it their all as their shields barely held back the giant beam.
Without Ginga's resonance, they wouldn't have been able to hold out for this long. Their vision was nothing but white as the 2 energies clashed with each other and their hearing filled with the shrill sound of the 2 energies annihilating each other.
Warning shield below 25%
This warning echoed in both battleships as they clung on for the millions of lives below them. Holes started forming allowing energy to leak through damaging their rigging and bodies as their shields grew smaller and smaller.
Warning shield below 10%
Both Battleships grit their teeth as they push themselves to the limit, blood being thrown in the wind as their wounds were getting more severe but the beam continued strong, looking as if it had no end in sight.
Warning shield below 5%, shield collapse imminent!
'Just a little bit more!' Yamato screamed in her head as most of her rigging was destroyed.
'Come on, just hold on!' Ginga said as her vision turned red all of a sudden.
Just when the 2 battleships reached their limit the beam stopped as it had used up all of its energy and needed time to recharge.
The 2 battleships were knocked out cold thus taking their engine offline and also their gravity anchors sending them tumbling through the air and on a one way ticket to the surface. Both kansens soon reached their terminal velocities as the Tokyo skyline was getting closer by the second.
Half a minute later they both crashed into Tokyo with Yamato crashing through multiple skyscrapers before stopping inside one of the high-rise apartments while Ginga crashed through a few high-rise buildings before being abruptly stopped by solid Tarmac which cratered under her weight.
The kansens in space were shocked that Tokyo was still standing and not a huge crater, this made the Sakurans fight even harder to prevent the next attack.
Yamato POV
Yamato felt like she was in a trance, her vision was dark and she couldn't feel anything for a while until she slowly felt her senses come back to her and a dull pulse coming from her heart.
Her hearing was the first to come back and it was full of a constant whine like the ones received when a grenade blows near you. Her vision also returned as her world became more coloured and unfocused with some splotches of black mixed in.
Yamato groaned as she tried to focus on something but her eyes just wouldn't focus. Her body felt numb and unresponsive, she tried moving her hand but she only got slight twitches.
'Come on, the rest need you get up!'
Yamato tried to move her body and this time it finally responded; her body moved slowly but she was able to lift herself with a lot of strain her rigging making a lot of noises as the metal was shifted.
'Move you stupid body!' Yamato shouted in her head as she planted her foot on the ground before straining to stand up.
Her legs were shaky and difficult to move but she still moved forward towards what she hoped was the exit she came from.
Yamato breathed out heavily as her body felt on fire, she took one more step before her body suddenly became aware of the multiple injuries she had. The adrenaline that had fuelled her before was gone now making her face the full brunt of the pain coursing through her body.
She let out a loud grunt as her knees buckled making her fall but she managed to catch herself before her head could impact the floor. She tried again to stand up but the pain was just too much and she fell again.
"Dammit," coughed up some blood as she tried to get her bearings until she faintly heard something rustle to her right.
This made her head turn in that direction as her eyes suddenly met chocolate brown eyes. This made her confused until she realised that she was staring at a kid.
The kid looked not more than 9 years old yet he had a hurt look on his face as he looked at the multiple wounds and damages to her rigging that she sustained.
Before the kid could do anything like touch her rigging, he looked back and that's when she realised that there was someone else in the room, she looked only to find the wide eyes of an old lady staring at her, it seemed like she was shocked since her mouth was also agape.
The humans in the room never said anything for a few moments making Yamato feel uncomfortable as she tried standing up but this time only being able to lift her upper body as she knelt with 1 knee.
Her breath was heavy making it difficult for her to think clearly. Her body was aching with pain but pain wasn't something that could keep her down.
As she tried again, her action was stopped abruptly when her ears heard something the old lady say that shocked her.
Her eyes once again looked at the old lady only for her to notice that she was on the brink of tears and that drove a spear through her heart.
The old lady's mouth parted as she tried to speak something but seemed too shocked to say but once she was able to collect herself she spoke in a louder voice, "Is that you, Empress"
Yamato was left in shock since she was sure that she had never revealed herself to anyone in public, but the question was how was she able to figure it out.
The old lady guessing what she was thinking spoke up, "You look exactly like how you were in fleet zero. There's no way anyone can fake your looks and right now I have a feeling that what I'm saying is true. You always come when it matters most to protect the people of Japan and everybody else in your power."
Yamato felt guilty for lying to everyone and she didn't want to extend the lie she used to her people.
"Yes, that is true."
Even if her voice sounded rough the old lady was still able to hear clearly and this time cried freely as their leader was back. The kid seeing his grandmother crying immediately went to comfort her but she told him that she was fine as it was only tears of joy.
The grandmother gave Yamato a dogeza which she tried to stop but her body wasn't in any shape to move yet as her manjuus were still doing emergency repairs.
The grandmother revered their empress so much thus a dogeza was a simple thing for her to do with her forehead touching the floor.
"Thank you, Empress, for everything you have done we, the citizens of your empire, will always stand with you in everything you do for you lead with honour and love, you lead with hope for a better future that is in harmony and we stand with you in any decision you make we will always be by your side."
Yamato, when she heard this felt touched, she felt something in her soul ease up as she gained a new view of the people of Sakura Empire. She smiled softly at the lady before giving her an order.
"Rise," Yamato managed to stand up barely as the grandmother kept her upper body upright as she was still kneeling, "what's your name?"
The old lady felt confused but answered, "Todo Rei, your empress and the child is Todo Aiko"
Yamato nodded her head as she made her way to the exit, "I will remember your names. Thank you for the kind words."
Like that Yamato disappeared leaving a stunned Grandmother with her confused grandson.
The city outside was quiet apart from the odd animal passing by.
Yamato looked at this city from the high rise building she was in and realised that all the people here were her citizens. She didn't know how beautiful the city would be at night but now she wanted to know. She wanted to protect the city and the people more than anything.
Once her emergency repairs were done, she jumped off the balcony as she looked for her sister who had landed close to her and sure enough, she found her in her crater in the middle of the road. She dropped in altitude before touching the once good tarmac road, now it was filled with cracks and fissures.
As Yamato neared the crater, she saw a group of people helping her sister out with water and some dressing her numerous wounds while her manjuus were doing emergency repairs on her rigging. Ginga looked like she didn't want the help but it seemed like they forced her to accept it.
Ginga quickly noticed Yamato walking towards her and immediately felt relieved that she was safe but grew slightly worried when she saw the numerous wounds on her body.
"Sister you're hurt" Ginga said with a worried tone as the people helping Ginga also looked at Yamato only for them to freeze as some even dropped what they were holding in their hands.
"I know but it's not the worst, I can still fight," Yamato said while walking closer before noticing the multiple stares at her which made her even more uncomfortable.
"E... E..." One of the helpers couldn't help but be a stuttering mess and when Yamato looked at him, he immediately bowed before saying in a loud voice, "Her Majesty the Empress!"
The other helpers were shocked by this statement but once they realised that the similarities were too great, they also bowed as well.
Yamato felt so embarrassed since she wasn't used to being this revered even in the cosmo navy. After some talking, they immediately left but not without each walking away with a photo of them and the empress which they treasured to keep safe.
Yamato didn't even care about the stupid pictures as her worry was directed more into space as they could see hundreds of miniature bursts of explosions and one giant red light that stood out like a sore thumb in the night sky.
"Ginga, how about we give the sirens a taste of their own medicine." A smile graced her face since it was time for some payback.
Her sister immediately agreed as they lifted off the ground and made their way out into the bay area before rising to an altitude of 15000 feet. There the 2 battleships went into their ship forms as the Yamato adjusted its position to keep the superweapn in its line of sight as the Ginga moved behind her ready to amplify the WMG.
"Analyser, send a message to the admiral to order every ship that is near or in this designated trajectory to move away immediately," Yamato told her trusty robot as she initiated the Wave Motion Gun firing sequence.
Raise wave motion engine pressure. Close emergency valves
Her wave motion core pumped out more and more energy that was fed into her Wave Motion gun increasing the pressure.
Open wave motion gun outlet. Engine pressure at 20%
Streams of yellow orbs began to condense on the tip of the gun as inside miniature black holes were formed and destroyed releasing a ton of energy and Hawking radiation in the process.
All energy redirected to the wave motion gun. Initiate forced induction. Engine pressure at 40%
Her thrusters powered down and all electrical systems were switched to backup power as all energy was sent to the WMG.
Release wave motion gun safety. Engine pressure at 60%
Special clamps on the Wave Motion Gun were released as she neared firing even as Ginga was almost ready too as thousands of golden particles spiralled down to her bow resonator.
Raise target scope. Engine pressure at 80%
The scope zoomed in as it focused on the superweapon, however, there were still friendly and enemy units in the path of her beam, 'Come on Admiral!'
Brace for shock and flash. Engine pressure at 100%
Her eyes changed to a blue colour as she hoped the admiral could make a decision quickly enough.
POV admiral Mason
The admiral could be seen going over the battle from his command centre when the comms officer spoke up.
"Sir I have a message that's from the Argo," his interest was picked since he was told that the Argo was taken by the sirens, "It's a directive to remove all ships from this designated trajectory, quickly."
The admiral was now confused as he viewed the trajectory which was just a straight path to the siren superweapon which was strange but before he could think about it more alarms started tripping from different sensors.
"Sir I'm picking up a huge energy signature near Tokyo" the person in charge communicated leaving people stumped at how sirens were able to get past the defence lines, "energy signature is rising sharply, admiral your orders."
All eyes now looked to him for a directive and he was stuck at coming up with a conclusion due to what Haruka said.
"Energy signatures are still rising, sir your orders!"
With everybody pressuring him to make an answer he just followed his gut feeling and looked at the comms officers.
"Order all ships to stay clear of this path am I clear" the admiral quickly ordered to which the comms officer complied.
"Sir, there could be sirens down there why are we just doing nothing" The weapons officer stated as he didn't see the merit of such a decision but his statement was overlooked as this new energy signature was still rising.
In a few moments, the friendly ships in the path quickly moved out of the way and put some distance as the energy readings from Tokyo were reaching critical levels.
Engine pressure at 120%
"Hadoho. Hasha!"
{"Wave motion gun, Firing!"}
Ginga followed suit by firing hers earlier, making the amplifier at her bow glows for a moment before releasing a golden beam that amplified Yamato's gun to even greater heights.
Yamato pulled the trigger as the gun clicked before the Wave Motion Gun itself slammed forward into the bow opening before all of its energy was released in one beam.
The ship trembled as a bright blue beam escaped from its bow, the beam making a shockwave as it cut through the atmosphere and created a blinding light that was dimmed by her bridge windows darkening and her anti-flare goggles protecting her eyes.
From the people watching in Tokyo and recording the first thing they saw was a bright light that made them look away and when they looked back, they saw the amazing spectacle as a bright blue beam tore through the atmosphere but soon they saw a second bright light higher up that turned into a golden beam that carved through the heavens.
The golden beam which is not a transit WMG, streaked through space as it passed through the intended points that were sent to the admiral who was in shock at the amount of power that beam produced.
Even the kansens moved away even further when their sensors could not gauge the strength of the beam as it was simply too much for them to handle, however, some 2 cruisers couldn't help but smile as they watched the beam smack into the siren superweapon before just phasing through it, completely destroying it.
"I wonder if my Cosmic Gun is that powerful?" Kitakami wondered while her sister looked at her with a deadpan look.
The amplified WMG messed with the portal the superweapon came out of as it changed into a golden colour and soon the beam dissipated as the portal destabilised and sucked in everything close to it before it violently exploded taking down a good chunk of the siren force with it.
The Yamato stayed put as its systems rebooted and energy was being restored to various systems. As soon as that finished its main engine lit up as both Ginga and Yamato cut through the atmosphere and into battle once more.
The people in Tokyo, cheered as the 2 battleships became smaller and smaller in the sky and the internet was blowing up with videos of Yamato's WMG gun firing and in other parts pictures and videos showing Yamato interacting with Ginga and some odd selfie pics.
These acts took the internet by storm making weeaboo fans jealous and starting a massive campaign to obtain more images of their weaboo ship for the fantasy is real and soon custom imagery of Yamato and Ginga were flying around for a price and models of Yamato and Ginga's ship and their rigging was already in the pipeline of being made. The one who can make it first can make a monopoly abusing the Weaboo fans and milking them for their money.
That day the internet in Japan broke due to the large number of users on it, all because of 1 kansen and her sister.
As the 2 battleships continued to climb into the sky, Yamato couldn't help but wonder what her WMG hit in the siren dimension because she felt something block it which was weird.
Yamato gazed out of her bridge window eyeing the massive amounts of damage she took, her first main gun was out of use its motors and energy pathways destroyed. Its barrels were like a bent fork, they were stuck rendering it useless. The same could be said about her second main gun and front secondary gun both being rendered useless as their barrels were snapped clean making them nothing but studs leaving her with only her rear turrets.
She may have been given a devastating blow but she could still dish out a devastating blow since her guns weren't the only things that made her deadly.
The two sister ships once past the Karman line opened up with a volley of wave motion tipped missiles. This combined barrage rocketed towards the dwindling siren forces, their targeting systems mindful of friendly ships before detonating.
An intense flash of white temporarily blinded those who couldn't look away in time and the destruction that followed pushed back the sirens till they were close to the portal yet more siren ships emerged only to be eviscerated and add to the ever-growing debris cloud forming in that area.
Those who weren't actively fighting the remaining sirens turned to look at the 2 battleships. Most kansens at that point knew who fired that beam since the energy produced by the Argo was identical to the one in the beam. This made most kansens fear her more than respect her due to the massive trump card that is the Wave Motion Gun.
Shinano at that moment felt a well of negative emotions churn in her heart as she gazed at her sisters, their trump card was finally shown and it was even more devastating than what she could dream of. Shinano had a hunch that those demon cruisers also had the same ultimate weapon but it was just a hunch based on the holes in their bows.
She sighed before focusing on her repairs, her deck was slowly coming together and soon she would be able to launch fighters again but for the moment all her returning fighters were redirected to either surface bases or to other carriers in the fleet.
She looked past her bridge windows, her reflection faintly visible on the clear glass, she could see her 2 sisters steadily moving forward even though both had been battered pretty badly they continued to fight to the end.
The admiral on the other hand felt happy he trusted his gut if not then he would have lost some good kansens in the cross fire but that didn't happen and he could finally say his hunch was correct.
The admiral smiled to himself as he sat down on his chair where he could easily overlook what his other officers were doing and give out orders but with the sirens on the run they didn't need his insight giving him the perfect opportunity to relax and when he opened his tablet he decided to check the news to see how they were covering the story, he fully expected Argo's superweapon to be at the forefront of discussions and he was right.
The scientific and engineering community was ablaze as researchers were brought on the news to explain Argo's mysterious superweapon. The admiral saw a preview of one that was live and decided to check it out.
"For those joining right now, we'd like to replay the clip that just surfaced on the web a few minutes ago coming all the way from Tokyo"
The video played as it showed the skyline of Tokyo that had varying degrees of damage then there were some shouts from the nearby residents as they pointed at something in the sky. The cameraman pointed his device that way and zoomed in all the way as a faint blue glow could be seen in the sky coming from a ship that was too high to be seen in detail.
A second golden glow joined the blue glow as they both grew in intensity, the tension among the people was visible as they wondered what that ship was doing. Their question was soon answered as a bright flash of white light forced everyone to look away as the intensity was too much.
Even the cameraman pointed the device down to avoid damaging any component and when he pointed the shock of other people could be heard as the camera brought into focus a bright blue beam piercing the heavens as it ascended quickly.
People gazed in amazement before a loud shrill sound reverberated throughout the city as the sound finally caught up to them. This made some people cover their ears until another burst of light filled their eyes and this time it was golden as the blue beam suddenly turned into a gold colour as it continued out into space.
Minutes later a large explosion was observed that made people wonder about the true strength of these beams.
The video stopped there as the view soon changed to the news station where the presenter had a guest who was pretty well known on the web.
"Thank you Neil for coming here on such short notice, now if we can get straight to the point what are your thoughts on the video that was played on screen?"
Neil pondered for a moment before looking at the camera, "Hmm, my thoughts are that beam is more powerful than it looks"
The presenter got interested and leaned forward, "Can you give a reason as to why you're saying that?"
Neil looked at the presenter as he fished his phone from his pockets, "Just a few minutes ago one of my friends in Japan called and he said he had analysed this beam and what he found was a boatload of exotic particles together with a high burst of Hawking radiation"
If exotic particles didn't surprise people then the mention of Hawking radiation did since there is only one place where that type of radiation is found, Black Holes.
"And so he crunched the numbers and based on a multitude of different things he found that at the bare minimum, this beam has the potential to wipe out something the size of the Dragon Empery in one shot, higher estimates put it at being able to wipe Eagle Union or the Northern Parliament. Keep in mind we are talking about the country's here on Earth not the vast territories each country has out in space."
With that bombshell of a news the presenter was slightly terrified at the power that the ship that made it had.
"Oh and that was only for the bright blue beam," The room went silent as the members struggled to comprehend what Neil was about to say, "The golden phase of the beam is interesting and I shall quote what my friend told me, The Golden phase of the beam broke the instruments trying to analyse it, making it impossible to measure just how much power was behind that beam."
At this point, Mason was struggling to wrap his head around the sheer power and devastation such a weapon could bring and it was at that moment he heard shock and awe pass through the bridge crew.
He lifted his eyes only to see most of the crew on their feet as they saw the Argo steadily make its way to the front line along with Ginga.
"Can believe the Argo and Ginga are still fighting even with all that damage," the tactical officer noted as another burst of bright blue light filled their viewports as another round of wave motion tipped missiles found their mark.
The radar officer let out a slow whistle as he a whole chunk of sirens drop from his radar, "Wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those missiles, they pack a hell of a punch."
The other bridge crew agreed while Mason was starting to have a great suspicion and fear of the Argo because if it was the one responsible for that beam which was highly likely since it and Ginga were the only 2 ships to come from Sakura Empire direction, then one can only wonder what kind of enemies pushed the creator to make such a terrifying weapon of mass destruction.
Before his thoughts could wander even further his tablet vibrated multiple times. He looked and saw a notification from Twimic. Opening it he saw that the Azur Lane and kansen forums were blowing up, this confused him since those 2 forums weren't expected to be blowing up, only the war forum and other military forums were the ones expected to be blowing up.
Confused he opened the forum only to see a picture of a kansen he'd never seen before even the riggings were huge though damaged extensively and different from what he was used to. He quickly opened the comments seeing multiple people wondering who this new kansen was while a minor group were wondering where it was shot at. Multiple guesses were made thinking it was Sakura Empire's secret weapon due to the kitsune features but Mason knew that that wasn't true. He continued scrolling down before stopping and then scrolling up a bit as he saw a comment that was getting a ton of replies.
The account name was simply CarlPE8 and he was pitching a very bold claim that the kansen looked like the captain of the Argo. Mason scoffed at this before looking at the Argo that had slowed down and only then was when all his suspicions and doubt about Haruka hit him like a train.
"Wait!" Mason said out loud not caring about his surroundings as he looked at the picture again. He looked at the rigging very carefully and noted the similar colour scheme and weapons to the Argo but there was still a well of doubt within him so he looked at the kansen and imagined Haruka right next to the kansen on the picture.
His eyes slightly widened further as the resemblance was too real, all he had to do was hide the fox ears and tails and it was Haruka with a rigging! But the next question boiling in his head was just who is Haruka since her name and the ship don't match at all. Even the UNSF didn't have any data on the Argo, it was like it appeared out of the inky blackness of space.
Mason sighed in frustration and just when he thought that the Argo was an undocumented ship he saw a new comment shot to the top of the forums after an auto refresh, the amount of reposts replies and upvotes was unlike anything he had ever seen.
The pitch was oh so plain he felt himself mentally slap himself due to how obvious it was and the person in question was claiming that when Haruka is written in kanji it's the same as Yamato in kanji! He even had a picture to prove it. Mason felt dazed as if Akagi smacked him in the head, all the evidence, all the hunches all lined up to this final piece of evidence that proved his theory correct.
A smile slowly made its way on his face since he uncovered Haruka's or should he say Yamato's secret after months of cooking it up.
Suddenly a new post rocked the forum as a user bravely declared that the kansen in the picture was Sakura Empires long lost battleship Yamato! Mason pondered for a moment before upvoting it which was special as it showed that he upvoted that post and it made it blow up even more with even more people believing it since an admiral upvoted it.
Mason smiled mischievously as he could only imagine the kind of situation Yamato would find herself in once the battle was over and returned to Earth. Other than that boiling forum page he noted that the dead Yamato class sub page was suddenly alive and already blowing up to the top of the Azur lane page and when he opened it he didn't expect fanarts of Yamato to already be circulating the internet.
Though basic ranging from face only to just the kansen form and the beginning of early 3D models of Yamato's rigging and ship. Ginga was also there as well as Shinano as it seemed that their fanbase was starting to swell like a tsunami.
The dedication of these fans was something Mason never really understood but their commitment to being there for their ships was commendable as it helped the kansens mentally.
With a sigh of relief, Mason shut down his tablet as he focused on the battlefield once more.
Location: No man land POV: Allena
No man's land is an area of constant conflict where 2 parties entrench themselves and hunker down as the other party tries to rush at them only to be gutted apart from a robust defence system.
This is an area where if you walk on it you either get a bullet to the head from a sniper, blown up from a mine or artillery, get stuck by a trap or slowly die from chemical weapons.
But in this universe, the angels had free reign to regularly pass through no man's land as they were difficult to track and hit since they were human sized and their opponents were usually in heavily armoured ships.
Currently, Allena knew that if she went back to her city after the amount of damage Yamato did and in particular her disobeying the orders of her superior from being grounded to running away on a space battleship.
She was sure that her superior would stick her to a wall to keep her in sight and her body shivered at that thought.
Allena originally wanted to go with the fleet but she knew the sirens very well and had a hunch that they had a couple of tricks up their sleeves even though Allena knew that a WMG or 2 could fix it she had this well of uneasiness from the start and it constantly bothered her, the sirens were cooking up something huge but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.
Allena sighed seeing that her thoughts were leading nowhere and decided to cash in her one time favour.
From one of her pockets, she took out an earpiece and placed it on her ear before activating it, the person she wanted to talk to was readily available making it easier.
"Hello," a slightly stressed voice answered.
"Hey, Raphael I wanted to cash in that favour you owed me," Allena went straight to the point since an agitated Raphael didn't like to have long chit-chats.
"And what is this favour that you want me to do," Raphael sounded slightly displeased he had to do more work but he had only himself to blame.
"This is a pretty big favour but could you come with me on a combat mission?" Allena was silent hoping that Raphael would take the vague favour but that was nothing but a pipe dream as Raphael was silent on the other side waiting for Allena to fill in the blanks to which Allena sighed in defeat.
"I want you to accompany me to help defend Earth, I'm pretty sure you've heard of it already and I know that you still value the life in the universe so please help me" Allena felt desperate for any help and she was sure that Raphael would accept the offer.
She waited for an answer that took way too long and this made her start doubting if what she thought of him was true.
"Listen Allena I really do want to help you but the order from command strictly tells us to avoid interfering in the Earth siren war in any way. I can't help you in any way plus, if command heard I was talking to you I would be in a major pickle since you're kind of a wanted angel."
Allena felt her hopes get crushed followed by a silent boiling rage at her superiors. She was just doing her job yet she had a mark on her head, they could just give her the fallen angel title at this point she was getting tired of command now more than she ever did.
"It's fine Raph, you had no control over it. I'll call you once things are back to normal." Without waiting for a reply Allena quickly turned it off and pocketed it before focussing on the situation on hand.
She didn't have any reinforcements but she would just have to make do. Her wings glowed a bright colour as they extended their full lengths preparing for warp.
Moments before she warped she felt a large gravitational wave pass right past her energy fluctuation before stabilising.
A look of terror adorned her face as she looked in the direction where it came from.
"What kind of monster is big enough to make its gravitational wave when warping!?" She had a few ideas pop up but those monsters were always kept under surveillance, if one were to break free then the whole faction would be called to arms and she didn't receive any distress like that.
Allena slowly exhaled to calm herself down only to detect multiple energy readings coming her way.
Opening her eyes she easily dodged them and looked at the culprit which was none other than the Void, she needed a break was what she thought before entering her battle mode.
Location Earth
Yamato felt all the tension welling up inside her slowly unwind itself as the few remaining sirens were hunted down by carrier borne aircraft.
The portals where the sirens came from stopped spewing out sirens a while ago before randomly destabilising out of nowhere and closing when they all thought that the sirens would do one final push from all areas.
This was a gift for the kansens as they regrouped, injured ships being taken to either repair stations or surface docks to repair while those that were combat ready regrouped at the second defence zone where different auxiliary kansens helped in resupplying and restoring the fleet to it highest combat readiness.
There was a slight problem. The fleet under Yamato was all scrapping their stores when it came to ammunition since the only place where they could find more was all the way past the galactic rim.
Yamato didn't see this coming since she thought that it would just be one decisive battle and she had to bear the guilt of the fleet as everyones' pissed off look was staring right at her through the screen on the ceiling.
"You still amaze me sister at how you can forget something so essential!" Ginga complained through the call since her situation was even worse since she had to make space for her fighters to receive their ammunition leaving her ship with scraps it couldn't even hope to defeat a recon fleet.
For the cruisers, their missile spamming tactic ate through their missile count till they were left with Kitakami having 80 cosmic tipped missiles and 120 normal ones and Oicchi more or less having the same count since they were in similar situations.
They could only face plant on their consoles once their AIs told them of their ammunition problem. It truly was a hard knock life for the four.
Meanwhile, Shinano just listened and watched with amusement at how her elder sister had forgotten something so important. Luckily Shinano had completed most of her emergency repairs and begun accepting fighters as her ammunition stores were low but still could enough to handle a full sortie.
Shinano laughed as Yamato and Ginga got into yet another argument on who was supposed to take responsibility with both sides denying it was their fault yet the blame lay solely on Yamato's shoulder.
Shinano gazed out her bridge windows seeing the occasional fighter or bomber land or take off from her deck her eyes were trained on a specific sector in front of her and when she squinted she could just about make out the outline of her sister ship though faint when against the backdrop of space.
Most of the kansens still didn't know about the major discoveries made online, only a select few mostly the idol group of the kansens knew about this including the admiral yet instead of spreading this news like wild fire they decided to break it out after the war was officially over.
Yamato didn't even have the faintest clue at what was happening in the digital since she was focused on fixing the many breaches in her armour as well as her main guns which were permanently knocked out until she could get to a port and lift them out to properly repair them.
She sighed as the call ended the blame did lie with her but she didn't mind that as she relaxed in her seat. Her eyes closed while she replayed the fight in her head thinking of ways to improve her tactics but Analyser was way better at that than her making the task less tedious.
But there was one scene that didn't fit well with her. When she fired her WMG and amplified it using Ginga she could feel it pierce through the superweapon and continue forward into the breach to which she expected it to continue flying due to the sheer size if she compared the previous siren subdimension, yet it took only less than 30 seconds before she felt it collide with something hard and that wasn't normal.
The only other thing she knows that can eat an amplified WMG are the creations of the ancient civilizations. Her hand unconsciously clenched into a fist as some bad memories flickered through her head. A frustrated sigh escaped her lips as she opened her eyes her relaxed mood being killed by some unwanted memories.
Her eyes naturally looked at her deck as she saw some sparks fly off into space, her manjuus doing a good to patch her. Her eyes lingered on them for a while longer until she noticed something odd. The space in front of her was beginning to turn into a faint shade of blue.
Her confusion was shared with the kansens present as they noticed the same thing.
Her radar let out a beep making her switch one of her displays to view it only to her 5 dots some 40 kilometres ahead of her.
"Analyser can you focus the camera on those radar contacts." her trusted AI did as told and displayed the results on the screen above her.
Yamato looked as the camera zoomed in and focused as 5 crossed shaped objects came into view. She looked even more confused as she gazed at the 5 uniquely shaped rocks yet there was something in the back of Yamato's mind screaming at her to do something even though she didn't know what it was.
Her body became even more agitated as the hairs on her tails stood up making her confused about why her body was reacting this way.
She didn't want to ignore this feeling but she didn't have any solid evidence to back up what she was feeling.
"Analyser cross check our database and see if there's any ping on those weird structures"
Her sub engines slowly came online before a surge in power enlarged its exhaust flame, the damaged battleship steadily pulling away from Ginga and towards the strange rocks.
Ginga also felt her body tense up and she didn't know what to do, part of her wanted to follow her sister but her instincts told her otherwise.
Yamato didn't want to give her sister an order since she had already been in her fair share of battles and she knew that Ginga could make the right decision when the time came.
She wasn't all that surprised when Ginga fired her RCS and turned away from her and towards Shinano who was a sitting duck.
The cruisers didn't know what was going on even though they saw the way Yamato and Ginga reacted to the appearance of these crosses. Thus without proper direction, they held their position since it felt safer there than going with the probing charge at the asteroids.
Admiral Mason in simple terms was caught pants down and now he was struggling to put the pieces together of what those strange objects were and why the space in front of them was turning a brighter shade of blue very slowly but still noticeable.
Yamato, while en route, noticed a detachment of the attack force heading to inspect the same structure and they were slightly ahead of her. From her view, she could see Iowa and all of her sisters, Texas, Cleveland, Fletcher and some other destroyers and cruisers from other factions.
She thought it was slightly weird to send that big of an inspection force but she wasn't complaining. Looking at the camera she saw chunks of rock pass her view making her turn to the rock structures that seemed to be crumbling due to unknown forces.
Her interest was about to be piqued if the bridge lights didn't turn to an angry red colour as her klaxons sounded throughout the bridge. The data analyser sent was immediately given straight to her and the finding was the worst one of all.
The manjuus immediately stopped what they were doing as they quickly headed for the nearest safe zone.
Her Wave Motion Engine dipped to a new low as she watched the structure rotate upwards the rocks being displaced to reveal a ship that barely survived a scatter round from Andromeda's WMG.
The Calaklum Class Great Battleship
A ship that was churned out by the Ark of Destruction by the thousands. On Earth, there was a huge debris field that was filled by them and it was even beginning to form a ring around the earth.
They could go head to head against a dreadnought in the EDF if swarm tactics and trump cards aren't used and now there were 5 of them staring down at the approaching Kansen fleet.
It took Yamato a moment to break out of her shock as her ship's main engine was cranked to full output, her massive battleship lurched forward as it quickly sped forward racing against time.
"Can we warp?"
"No, our engine has been strained too much, any more and it would most likely melt."
Yamato grits her teeth, what Analyser said was true.
Missiles wouldn't reach in time and her main guns were knocked out, her fighters would take long but she didn't have enough to deal with 5 Calaklum. She could only hope that the kansens could survive long.
Her dwindling supply of bubble shields was further lowered as 16 bubble shields were launched, their solid motors leaving behind smoke trails as they raced to their designated positions.
"Analyser hack into the fleet wide comms and send the Admiral a data dump on everything about Gatalantis" In her head she was already trying to formulate a plan even though most pieces on the board were low on ammunition.
She patched into her fleet's comms her voice firm as she gave out instructions.
"Ginga, protect the carriers, Shinano take command of the carriers and move them further behind the lines. Kitakami, Oicchi form up and get here ASAP I need you"
The above mentioned kansens each got to work, the cruisers put on their main engine and full power and quickly vectored onto the emerged Gatalantian threat preparing their armaments for another tough battle. Shinano then proceeded to do a whole 180 and after using her status and strength she managed to convince the multiple carriers making them follow her as they moved even farther away from the upcoming battle. Ginga then proceeded to bring up the rear, her point defence ready to bring down incoming missiles and her Cosmo zeros close to being combat-ready after rearming.
Admiral Mason was getting nowhere in investigating what those weird rocks were when suddenly alarms were tripped as the bridge crew was yet again sent into a frenzy.
"Radar give me a sitrep" Mason said in a serious tone.
"5 new contacts have appeared from the rock structure bringing up the picture now"
5 impossibly large battleships were displayed on the screen as their 520 meter long hull drew everyone's gaze to the screen. Their dark green colour stood out in the blackness of space and if they were not weird enough the alien looking design of the ship made almost everyone including kansen wonder what the ship was, they couldn't see any barrels for any turret but they did see multiple bulges or bumps in the ship structure making them wonder if it was even armed.
"Great, even more unknown forces!" Mason sighed. He was getting tired of all these new enemies appearing everywhere.
"Admiral," the comms officer started looking at Mason with a conflicted look, "The attack force has sent a sizable group to scout these new threats, they're asking for permission to engage the unknown ships."
Mason cast his gaze down to the console in front of him showing the radar feed displaying a scouting force closing in on the unknown ships.
He didn't want to be pinned as the admiral who brought another war to humanity's doorstep. The action to take was clear in their head, one which ensured that they could do a bit of both.
"Relay to the fleet for them to hold their position and observe these new ships. At any sign of an attack, they have all the liberty to open fire and get me some jets in the area." The comms officer relayed this as they soon slowed down.
However, things didn't go smoothly from there. His console beeped as missiles that had Yama... Argo's tag was closing on the scouting force. This made him raise an eyebrow wondering what was happening.
"Sir, we're detecting movement!" the radar officer shouted as everyone's gaze was glued back to the screen seeing the alien ships begin to spread apart weirdly. This action confused many and put the scouting force on high alert.
Mason almost missed an alert from his console, looking down he saw data pouring in from the Argo which was weird since they didn't ask for any, he was about to ignore them when a communication channel was forcefully opening causing static to fill the bridge before a firm voice sounded through it a hint of fear lying underneath the serious tone.
"Admiral! Get those kansens away from those Calaklum, they can't handle it!" Yamato's serious voice filled the bridge making people wonder why she was doing it.
Yamato knew if she tried telling the scouting force directly they wouldn't listen and she didn't want to waste precious time.
Mason on the other hand didn't understand why Yamato was acting this way and this would cost him dearly as the Great Battleships moved into position.
The Yamato sailed at maximum power, its strained engine being strained even more as all of its output was directed to its nozzle. The bubble shields it sent out earlier were quickly closing, their propellant spent making them coast to their target but they weren't going to make it in time.
Yamato herself was starting to get pissed at the admiral and his simple thinking.
"Mason, get your ships out of there! They will die if they wait even longer! Can't you hear me Admiral!" her pissed off voice was received by an annoyed Mason who simply terminated the call since he was getting slightly pissed at being yelled at but he did think about her statement before relaying an order for them to pull back but it was too late.
On the bows of these alien battleships small torpedo bits fractured from its bow section hovering to form a ring around the bow section. These bits slowly begin to spin around faster, faster and faster each time as sparks of green lighting blast off into space.
The feeling of something powering up can be felt and when Yamato sees this she is instantly filled with dread since the scouting force is in the weapons range, any calls to retreat would fall on deaf ears, she just hoped her bubble shields would reach in time.
Then without warning a flurry of green laser beams were rapidly shot of each bit. Every second that passes more and more green beams are added to the group that moves forward at shocking speeds.
The kansens didn't have to react but their AIs did and each brought up their shield to full power. The wall of beams impacts this barrier and is absorbed but it isn't just a few beams, there's thousands of beams each hit degrading the shield till there's nothing left from it ravaging the hull.
The shields of the destroyers were the first to fall under this onslaught as their sleek hulls were ripped apart exposing their internals to the vacuum of space, their exposed internals were gutted apart with some unlucky fellows that were showing their broadsides were in some cases split in two while other either had multiple large holes in them or have their side sheared off.
Those that were bow tanking suffered far less catastrophic damage with their bow being shredded and frontal turrets turned into nothing but bits and pieces of space junk. The damage done to them was further lessened due to some beams deflecting off the angled armour though that was rare.
The same destruction can be said to be the same for cruisers that had their shields burned through but the amount of damage was of varying degrees while battleships continued strong despite their shields being weakened significantly they found a respite from the beams in the form of 16 bubble shields coming into existence mere metres in front of them.
The energy in the shields tanked the shower of beams until it stopped.
The kansens barely had enough time to process what happened but those that did hold varying levels of fear and anger.
Those that held the most anger were the battleships more specifically all the Iowa sisters plus Texas as they rushed forward their frontal main guns rotated before locking in on the now hostile alien ships and letting loose a volley of dark blue beams.
Their accuracy was spot on smacking into the bow and sides of the Gatalantian ship only for the kansens to see mixed results. Some shots managed to carve out a chunk of the ship's hull while others were scattered leaving only small gashes.
The battleships this time rotated to show their full broadside, if frontal guns can't pen how about all? The Iowa's at that moment switched to their experimental positron rounds which degrade their barrels at an absurd rate however the situation they were in needed them.
Their barrels aligned perfectly with the positions they were sent for the perfect shot and just as their capacitors began charging a salvo multiple warp signatures were detected behind the Gatalantian forces.
The warp out visual was like a spinning column of square rings that were light blue. Multiple of these occured releasing about 50 Calaklum' s while in the centre of it all 10 Gostoke missile class battleships emerged.
On their bows were 2 massive missiles that were able to annihilate a small fleet but that wasn't the main shocking weapon. Sticking out proudly from the centre were the ultra-destructive Annihilation missiles where 1 can seemingly destroy the crust of a planet and there were four of them all aimed towards Earth and her last bastions of survival.
When Yamato saw those annihilating missiles poke out from the warp out signatures she knew that the defence force was screwed since she can vividly remember it breaking a section of crustal rock that was used to seal Teressa and even after the blast wave was able to make her spin like a fan.
She doubted if she could hold back 1 let alone 10 but she didn't get time to think over her self sacrifice when the battleships opened fire and this time the results were far better with the positron rounds crippling or destroying around 15 while 10 more were crippled, however, the kansens only aimed at the greater battleships thinking that they were the greater threat when the greatest of them all was clustered in one point.
Like a card game, the kansens had played their card and dealt a blow to the Gatalantis attack force but to Yamato who knew the true scale of their power they hadn't even scratched the paint of their forces and now it was Gatalantis's turn to play their card and what's more destructive than the annihilation missiles.
A blue spiral glow formed in front of each missile as they were prepped to fire before the latch holding them was released sending 10 world shattering bombs to the battleships.
Yamato didn't need to be told twice as she immediately went into her kansen form before flooding her energy into her main engine causing a blue exhaust flame to erupt from its nozzle.
All the warnings from Analyser were ignored as she slammed into a rift in space and time she pushed through it, entering a space where time stood still before she broke through the other side, a layer of ice breaking away from her figure as she took in the sight of 10 world ending missiles speeding towards her position.
Behind her, the remaining kansens that were conscious were shocked at Yamato's sudden appearance but they didn't have time to think about it as Yamato's voice spoke through the radio.
"All of you put your shields to max and strap in!"
The order was quickly followed as Yamato's main guns tracked the incoming missiles, Analayser doing a big data crunch to get the optimal shots as her barrels were elevated at different positions to maximize the number shot down.
Her wave motion engine pulsed with pain as its percentage was beginning to climb above normal operating limits and this wasn't her forcing her engine to reach past its limits.
She didn't have time to think about the pain as it became a lingering feeling at the back of her mind, her gaze was laser focused on the task at hand as her main guns let loose a full salvo before her missiles all opened as her remaining stock of bubble shields were thrown in to add her defence. A last ditch effort she didn't know how well it would work.
Even after the first launch, a second one followed soon after then a third followed by a smaller fourth launch as all of her bubble shields were fully thrown in her and the kansens defence. If just one manages to pierce through then everyone is as good as dead.
Her positron salvo quickly connected with the incoming missiles causing a bright flash of orange to fill her vision. The small hope she had was quickly squashed as 4 annihilation missiles burst from the resulting smoke closing in incredibly fast on the vulnerable kansens.
She grits her teeth as a blue cone forms in front of her followed by an intense flash of bright blue light as 4 layers of bubble shields are made. The wave motion energy glowed with a blue colour giving some kansens hope that it might hold out.
The 4 missiles touched at relatively the same time causing an intense flash of white to blind everyone who looked at it. From the Earth, it looks as if a second star which outshines the current one was formed in the cold vacuum of space.
Shockwave blasted away from the intense light before a secondary explosion followed injecting all the remaining energy forward creating a catastrophic amount of energy that broke through the 4 shields wall like butter before slamming into the kansens.
Most of them reverted to their ship girl forms to avoid collision and they were lucky they did so as they were thrown like ragdolls into space, the resulting rotational forces stressed their hulls to their limits with those that were damaged tearing themselves apart from all the forces they were subjugated to.
Their RCS was useless as they didn't have a point of reference as the G-forces broke many internal components with some even forcing their cores into safe mode knocking them out as their hearts powered down to avoid catastrophic failure.
Yamato was also in the same situation as other kansens, her severely damaged hull was breaking apart and she could feel her internals stressing to break apart from the G-forces but she had a cheat code as multiple bursts of orange light filled her vision.
Multiple type 2 cosmo marines closed in on her position and clamped on for dear life before their thrusters went into overdrive stabilising the spinning kansen as her bearings were corrected other kansens that were spinning out of controls were also stabilised by her cosmo marines and right in front of her was a sight she thought she would never see in her life.
6 giant red eyes shined in the infinite darkness, its gigantic structure looking like it had wings on it that were slightly curved. The structure before her was astronomical in size being able to contend with the largest planet Jupiter since this was similar to the one in her universe and it dwarfed Saturn by a big margin.
Her mind felt frozen in fear as she looked at the replacement for the Ark of Destruction, the Ark of the Void which had the same goal to wipe out all intelligent life in the universe but this time it was more autonomous making it able to judge humanity from all the data it gathered.
She wanted to move but her head began to recall all the disastrous moments she experienced in the short but bloody war in her universe.
Ginga was also reduced to the same as she gazed at the monstrous structure that overwhelmed the EDF even at the height of their power.
To put it simply in my book the war in 2202 gave the EDF ships PTSD because of how bloody it was and all the suffering each ship had to go through both mentally, physically and emotionally affecting to their core where if they were kansens some would have had to have been on therapy for quite some time especially Andromeda if she had ever survived.
But she never did and Yamato remembered very vividly the sight of a smocking damaged Andromeda pushing her out of the comet with everything she had left. She remembers the smile she gave her, her final words as she lost her strength quickly. Becoming weaker and weaker as her wounds were too server for even a repair station to fix her.
Andromeda let herself succumb to Mar's gravity as she fell into the clouds of a partially terraformed Mars, a smile still present all the way down before her core exploded leaving a large trail of smoke and orange flames of her explosion as they only sign she was there.
"Protect Humanity,"
Those were her final words and these words bounced around her mind before she snapped out of her trance her Rifle forming in her hands as she prepared to do exactly just that.
She knew well enough that making it a war of attrition was the stupidest thing to do, the best option on the table was to go all out from the start and she was going to do exactly just that.
Her core beat faster as she raised the pressure in her Wave Motion Engine while closing her emergency valves. A painful feedback pierced her mind but she wasn't turning back on this even if it killed her.
A blue glow filled her eyes as she focused on ending the Ark in one shot.
Her outlet opened revealing multiple golden orbs condensing on a single point that exponentially grew in power.
Her power now was fully redirected to her Wave Motion Gun as everything else was running on backup power while she began a Force induction but there was something different.
Instead of the glowing sphere growing within the confines of her barrel, the ball expanded out into space as even more golden balls of energy were flowing into it, its size expanding faster and faster.
The safety holding back her Wave Motion Gun was released making it almost impossible to stop it now. The energy readings began to surge past anything known to man as her growing ball of energy kept growing bigger and bigger.
Her target scope opened zooming in on the centre of the Ark where its power source was located. The glowing purple core had immense gravity and an insatiable hunger for energy. She would destroy it and the whole ark in one shot.
Her muscles braced for the recoil as her eyes had a layer of brown tint but now her eyes were glowing a golden colour that emanated for more power than it ever did. The anti-wave motion photons doing their job, shifting her Wave Motion Gun into a weapon that defies all forms of trying to understand its power.
The golden ball of energy was now almost twice as high as her and if she didn't get everyone's attention when she started she certainly had the world's attention now as her reality was ready to fire.
Her finger danced on the trigger, the doubt in her mind making her try and avoid firing since she would die because she had no radiation shielding but she was willing to take that for the survival of humanity. Though she might die at least she fulfilled her purpose in the end.
Her radio did pick up the frantic calls from Ginga who knew all too well the drawbacks of using such a weapon and she couldn't handle seeing her sister take her own life. Shinano was also worried but confused since she fully understood what was happening other than her elder sister was wielding power beyond reasoning.
"Ginga," Yamato's voice sounded alien through the comms as she stared down her enemy down the scope, "take care of everyone."
Without even waiting for a reply she terminated the call and fully focused on the ark, a mental countdown forming in her head as her finger gripped the trigger tightly but not to the point of firing.
'5... 4'
Multiple red rings formed on the Ark as they pushed out, its defence systems coming online at this absurd attack and in the end there stood 2 new black rings that added a new layer of defence to the Ark but be it red, black or whatever they will all fall to her Wave Motion Gun.
'3.... 2 …. 1'
"Fire!"
Her finger squeezed the trigger, her eyes closing as she could picture herself being baked from all the radiation shooting off from it but she soon realises that she's fully awake even after 20 seconds.
Her eyes opened seeing the Ark standing there smugly, all of the Gatalantian forces were still there but she wondered why her gun didn't fire.
It was only after a few moments did she realised she couldn't feel a pulse in her chest or a prickle of pain every time it pulsed and confusion set in her mind before she realised that it had been forced to shut down but it wasn't from her order nor analyser meaning it was from the outside and there was only one device she knew that could do what she was thinking about and to her knowledge knowing in that universe had even thought of something like it.
Before she could try to think of the cause of the forceful shutdown of her core her eyes track over 30 blue orbs fly into the mass of Gatalantis ships before imploding as all the matter around them was sucked into a destabilised core before violently ejecting the material out in a large explosion that could give a hydrogen bomb a run for its money.
There was one type of ship she knew that had this type of weapon description and she didn't want to believe it until the bow of a familiar ship sailed into view and right there written in bold white letters and illuminated by some lights was a ship designation she never thought she would see again.

You've finished reading part 2.
Now this should have been the final chapter and continued on but I saw how I was gatekeeping you guys so I was like instead of waiting another week or so for my lazy bum to do something might as well post what I have already and here it is.
I'm pretty sure it will be chalk full of errors that's a point I'll fix later.
The climax of the fight is the one scene that kept me from updating because things don't fit so well and I have multiple characters to write so it might take a while anyway, I will update.
Thank you for the votes and comments see you next time.
CHP 14: Climax
