Chapter 3-Getting Used To The New World

Alex went out of the house and started heading towards the gym. He found himself in a beautiful scenery as he looked at his surroundings.

People were walking around while talking to their friends next to them. While others were on their phones. Some people were on calls, while others were listening to music.

The bikers were riding up and down the bike lanes. Cars were bustling around here and there and currently there was traffic.

The trees swayed with the wind. The breeze gently caressed his face and blew through his scarlet red hair.

The birds were making chirping sounds and the sun was shining brightly on his face. It was late in the afternoon but the city was still busy as ever.

Alex continued walking while he gazed at the beautiful scenery in awe. He kept on walking until finally he reached the gym.

He looked up at the building and saw the name 'Handimans Gym' written on the board outside on the building's wall.

He then entered building and looked around. There was many people inside the gym, who were busy with their workouts.

Alex saw a reception desk set up on the right side of the door and he went straight there.

At the counter, there was a young woman about Alex's age. She had yellow eyes with brown hair.

She was wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt with the gym's logo printed on it and she had a name plate on it. She also wore black jeans that accentuated her model-like figure.

Alex read the name plate and saw that the receptionist's name is Ashley Hirsch. He stood at the counter and greeted the lady who was engaged in watching videos on her phone.

"Um... excuse me," said Alex as he tried to gain the receptionist's attention which worked because the next moment she looked up and saw him standing there.

She put her phone down onto the counter and looked at the young man standing in front of her. She smiled as she greeted the young man and asked what he needed help with.

"Hello sir, how may I be of service to you?" asked the young woman, Ashley.

"Uh...I want to get a membership," said Alex as he looked at Ashley before turning his gaze away to look at the other people working out.

"Um...yes sure. There are a lot of deals to pick from, so just pick the one that you want," said the young woman as she gave him a paper with all the deals written on it.

When Alex looked at it, the deal that caught his attention was the one where he also get his own personal trainer to him in his exercise. The personal trainer could also help him with his dietary plans as well. That was the perks of getting this deal. He got the deal at only five hundred dollars per month.

He looked up at the young woman and picked this choice and paid for it before he got his membership card.

"Here you go sir, your membership card. You can come here any time and your personal trainer will be here tomorrow as she is sick this morning," said the young woman.

Alex then took the membership card before he went into the building to get some exercise in.

He saw some treadmills lined up at the wall and proceeded towards them. When he arrived at the treadmills, he got on one and started running.

About twenty five minutes had passed, when someone came and started using the treadmill next to him.

It was a girl of moderate height for a woman - 168 cm. She had long black hair and sapphire blue eyes. She was wearing a training top with a maroon track pants.

The girl looked at him and greeted him with a polite expression and a smile on her beautiful face.

"Hello, it is a nice day for exercising, is it not?" said the young woman who looked like she was the same age as Alex as she asked him a question to start a conversation with him.

"Yeah it is," replied Alex as he reciprocated the young woman's smile.

"Are you new here perhaps? Because I have not seen you around," said the young woman as she looked at Alex and continued to run on the treadmill.

"Yeah I am new, I just moved here today," replied Alex as he looked at the young woman.

"Oh, I see. My name is Aliyah Rashid, nice to meet you. What is your name?" asked the young woman named Aliyah as she introduced herself to the young man in front of her.

"My name is Alex Alverrio, nice to meet you too," replied Alex as he looked at the young woman and shaked hands with her.

They continued to exercise and by the time Alex was finished he bade farewell to the young woman, Aliyah before he left the gym.

When he exited the gym, he received a notification from the system. And he was surprised as he read it.

[Aliyah is impressed with your fierce determination and dedication to exercising!]

Only after receiving this notification from the system did Alex realize that Aliyah was a heroine. But unfortunately he still did not know who the protagonist is or where he is.

He sighed heavily as he thought about this before continuing on his way back to his home.

He walked down the road and looked at the beautiful scenery. He still could not believe that he was in a new environment and that he had reincarnated into a new life.

He continued walking towards his home as he came to terms with his current circumstances.

He arrived outside of his home after walking for a while and looked at the huge building, this was also something that he needed to get used to.

After looking at the building for a while, he went to the door and proceeded to open the door and entered the house.

He then made his way to the living room and saw his sister watching TV with someone.

This someone was their father. He has jet black hair and blood red eyes. He was a bit tall and muscular.

He was currently wearing a short green pants and a short sleeved, plain white t-shirt.

He was watching TV with his daughter, Alexa, when he heard someone open the door of his house and the person's footsteps as he made his way to the living room.

As he looked at the figure that appeared at the living room's door,he was surprised at who he saw.

"Mom, I am home," yelled Alex as he entered the living room and saw the old man in his early forties sitting on the couch while watching TV with his sister.

When Alexa saw Alex's figure appear at the living room's door, she got excited as she stood up and ran towards his brother and gave him a hug.

"Daddy, look Alex has returned," said Alexa with a bit of excitement in her voice.

When the old man heard this he stood up and went towards his son and gave him a hug.

He started crying as he asked his son about his whereabouts in the last two years.

"Wah...where have you been all this time, Alex? Do you know how worried we were about you?" asked the old man as he continued to cry.

Alex then continued to retell his adventures to his father who got really worried about his health.

He continued to ask Alex some questions about his whereabouts while watching TV, until Alex's mother, Bethany finished preparing dinner.

"Dinner is ready," yelled Bethany as she called out to the group to come over to the kitchen to eat dinner.

The family of three continued to have a conversation with each other as they sat at the dining table and continued to eat their dinner.

After having dinner with his family, Alex went over to his room, but not before his mother told him about his appointment at the University of Chicago tomorrow morning.

"Listen I have spoken to the principal and he said that you should go at 10:00 AM in the morning to take your entrance exam," said Bethany as she looked at the disappearing figure of her son.

Alex nodded in acknowledgement as he continued to walk towards his room.

He entered his room and went straight to the bathroom to take a bath, to wash off all the grime and sweat that he had accumulated at the gym today.

After taking a bath he moved to his room and looked at his naked body in the mirror as he admired his physique.

He quickly wore some night wear before going to sleep. He turned off the lights and he began to think about the events that had happened today before he started to drift off into sleep.
