The battles have ended. The attackers have all been captured and taken to dungeons right underneath the academy premises which I didn't even know existed. Day in and day out Agreus went to see them sniffing for information. It turned out what Eric said was true. I was more than just King of Lust but a host of the phoenix flame. A powerful force destruction and creation which I also by the way had no clue about.
In just a couple of weeks my life became chaotic. We didn't even know if there were still more of these cultists out there because none of the captured began talking. Flora and Taku were still in a coma as Agreus did a number on them and now we had to wait again for another attack.
I didn't want to be surrounded by much people today so I sat in my dorm room with just Bruce there keeping me company. I was surprised he stayed since he was a guy who hated violence. We were busy playing Xbox and I was telling everything I knew so far.
"So you actually have really cool powers and this whole time you didn't know about them?" He asked me while chewing on some jelly babies.
I held the controller because I was taking the lead playing call of duty with him. I sighed and nodded. "Yea...I mean it's cool and all but it's too much to take in. It feels like my brain is about to explode. On the other side I nearly lost Agreus, what if I wasn't some holder of the phoenix flame, what then?" The thought of losing agreus still haunted me. I needed to learn to control this power so next time he does die again I'll be there to save him.
"How is he doing?"
"Oh he keeps waiting for the flower pot lady and the little man to wake up. He and I have only seen each other this morning. He's been on edge since the attack happened."
"You did resurrect him. You should make sure that...you know... his sanity is still intact?" I frowned at Bruce wondering where he was going with this. "Dorrek people don't just come back from the dead like how they come out of the shower. They literally come back to life something had to be lost in the process."
"Oh..." I mouthed and widened my eyes. "Hopefully that's not the case and Eric explained most of the shit to me. When someone gets reborn their body mind and soul has like a reboot. Except they come back the same way they were before they died only fresh."
"If you say so. My advice, you should talk to Agreus and maybe find another way to get your mind off things together with him. You two need each other more than ever and it's times like these that strengthens your bond."
I never thought Bruce was so good at giving advice. Now that he mentioned it, I missed my man already. He wasn't the only one on edge, but Vladimir mages were here so they could handle things and I was sure Eric would let us know if he found out something.
"I should probably go!" I told Bruce and got up off the floor. "I'll see you soon Bruce..."
I high-fived him and then grabbed my phone and walked to the door. I opened it and stopped, finding agreus standing there.
"There you are ..." he slouched his shoulders visibly relaxing.
I blinked my eyes and looked down the hallways. "Is something wrong?"
"No was just looking for you. I thought I told you to stay at the mansion." He narrowed his gaze.
"Hey Agreus!" Bruce waved at him and stiffened up when Agreus looked at him before he shakily lowered his hand.
Agreus still was a socially awkward asshole so I guess that means his sanity was still in tact right?
I closed the door behind me and looped my arms around his neck. "You did but I wanted some peace and Bruce always has peace around him."
"Hmm..." he nodded agreeing not to make a fuss about it. "Well then let's go."
He took my hand and I walked with him heading down the stairs. The campus was under reconstruction as the infrastructure did take a little damage but the place already looked as good as knew when we got outside.
"So how are you coping with everything that's happened lately?" He asked me.
I looked at him and huffed. "I'm doing okay. I'm wondering though if everything will go back to normal when all this is over."
"You know, where I come from I learnt that nothing ever goes back to normal. Things will keep on changing and it's only up to us to adjust and change so we can life in a world full of change."
I raised an eyebrow. I was starting to wonder if Bruce was right because Agreus never was someone who spoke like a wiseman before.
"I'm serious, Dorrek!" He smiled as if he was reading my thoughts and then he stood still, cupping my cheek. "I will be there for you every step of the way. I also did my fair share of research and I found this Forbidden library."
It came to me that he was speaking sincerely from his hard and my heart warmed at that. At the mention of the Forbidden library I was curious. "And what did you find out?"
"The phoenix fire. It's a fire that resembles re-creation and destruction. A powerful and dangerous fire. It's true form takes the appearance of a massive blue fiery phoenix carrying its host inside it and if mastered it can do wonders to the world around it. But so far nobody could control it."
"You mean I'm not the first to have it?"
"No..." he shook his head. "Others had it too. What I'm saying is that this power is dangerous even for you. Today you activated it unintentionally and I'm grateful for that but it also means it's time for you to learn how to control it and I am here. I know a lot about wielding destructive fire power and can reach you a thing or two. Not just that, but my aunt also has a sacred fire and if I ask her and her husbands for help I don't think these White Skulls stand a chance. So what do you say?"
"To getting another lesson from you?"
"No. To transforming into the king of lust and together with me we will go kick some ass. Find the true location of their hideout and bring the fight to them?" He pressed his forehead against mine. "Are you in?"
"I'm in baby. I'm all the way in."
He grinned at me and pushed his lips against mine, kissing me.
