We are family

Swifa watched as Aselero left, running away, moving incredible speeds with a small tear slowly making its way down from her eyes as he gradually disappeared from her range of vision.

"Mom, where did dad go" Spedori asked innocently from behind his mother, oblivious and unable to fully understand what was fully going on.

Fastilo on the other hand, being older than Spedori was able to somewhat understand what was going on, albeit, not fully but just enough to understand just how serious the situation they were in was.

"Mom" asked Fastilo as he slowly made his way to his mother and grabbing her by the shoulder.

Swifa upon feeling Fastilo's hand on her shoulder turned to her eldest son with tears still falling down from her eyes.

Fastilo then with a heavy heart and sorrowful voice asked, "What do we do none".

Swifa upon hearing what her son said looked down at her hand, seeing the small red stone placed on it by Aselero before he left and remembered what he said to her before leaving;

"You, Fastilo and Spedori are the only people in this blasted life of mine that I care about and you all are the reason I run, the fire underneath my feet pushing to move faster and faster. So please, no matter what happens to me, promise you'll protect this wonderful family we made together"

Swifa upon Aselero's words just sighed, allowing one last tear escape from her eyes before looking at both of her son and then pulling them both in to a tight hug.

Her sons were the greatest part of her life with Aselero, and even thou Aselero never really showed he loved and cared for them just as much as she did, to was why he chose to leave and face the threat of the Light Bringers all by himself, leaving his two sons in hands of Swifa, the only person he trusts to protect them and keep them safe, and that was exactly what Swifa intended to do.

Swifa then wiped away her tears and then looked to her sons with a warm smile on her face which she used to mask her fear, knowing that she had to be strong and show no signs of weakness for the seeks of her two sons.

"We are going to do the thing we Kinerikan do best, run as fast as we can" said Swifa.

"Where are we going to go?" asked Fastilo.

"Somewhere safe" replied Swifa.

"And dad?" Spedori asked innocently.

Swifa upon hearing what Spedori said remained silent for a moment, unsure as to how she could tell her little boy that she wasn't sure if he would ever see his father again.

"He…he'll be come when his done dealing with the bad people causing trouble in Kinerik" said Swifa, unable to muster the courage and strength to tell her son the truth.

Spedori upon hearing what Swifa said smiled warmly at his mother with a sense of hope in him that his father would be alright, little did he know that the hope he felt was a false kind given to him by a mother who couldn't bear to tell her youngest son the truth.

Fastilo saw the smile that formed on Spedori's as well as the look of sadness and uncertainty from his mother's eyes, understanding the bitter truth and the lie she had to tell his brother about their father and the depressing fact that he may never return to them.

Swifa felt a tear trying to escape her eye as watched the smile formed from a lie, she told her son she the truth was far too bitter and painful to be uttered by her mouth but still she managed to must the strength needed to force her tears back in, knowing she had to be strong for them.

"Come now, we have to go" said Swifa before they all raced off out of their home, moving at speeds the naked eyes could not perceive.

Swifa, Fastilo and Spedori, as they ran through the soil of their home would they marveled in absolute dread and horror at what had happened to their world, the beautiful bright blue sky filled with white elegant clouds were now red with massive balls of flames raining down from the sky above their heads with disappearance once elegant white clouds being replaced with black doll clouds of ash and smoke, the city that once stood on firmly on land were now reduced to ruins with pile upon piles of lifeless corpse littered about.

It was truly a horrific sight to behold especially for the young minds of Fastilo and Spedori who looked upon in horror and utter terror, seeing the world they were born in and called home in a hell like state was a sight greater than their worst nightmares.

Fastilo, who was ahead of Spedori, despite having witness with his own two eyes, what his home had become could still muster the strength to lift his feet off the ground and run despite of horror laid before him while Swifa, moving slightly faster that her eldest son, forced herself to ignore the horrific state their home world was in and just kept running as fast as she could, wanting nothing more than to get to some safe along with her two boys, Spedori on the other hand being the youngest with an innocent mind couldn't bear to see his home world in the miserable and horrific state it was currently in.

The sight alone filled him with pure horror and despair so much so that he felt his body go numb and freeze as the feeling fear and dread began to flow through his entire body, disabling his ability to move or even run.

"SPEDORI!!!!!" said Fastilo yelled out upon seeing that Spedori was no looker running and just stood with a look of terror on his face.

Fastilo then quickly rushed to his brother's side, knowing how dangerous it was for him to be standing out wide in the open in their current situation was.

"Spedori, snap out of it" said Fastilo as he grabbed hold of his brother and began shaking him profusely all in an attempt to get him back to his senses but it was all in vain as no matter how much he shook Spedori's terror frozen body his brother remained motionless and continued to look at him in the eyes with dead eyes as he was gripped so tightly by fear that he could move any part of his body and was left frozen.

Fastilo continued trying to snap is little brother out of the fear frozen state he was in but as he did so he failed to notice that gigantic ball of flames falling down from the sky above their head straight for them.

"Fastilo, Spedori" were the very last words the two boys heard coming from their mother before the ball of flames collided with the Kinerikan earth.

As the smoke from the impact cleared, Fastilo and Spedori slowly opened their eyes and saw that they were still alive in the loving embrace of their mother who managed to reach them and quickly move them out of the way before the fire ball hit.

"Are you two, okay?" asked Swifa with fear and worry in her eyes as she spoke.

"I'm fine but I can't say the same for Spedori" said Fastilo as he turned to his brother who was busy trembling and shaking due to the overwhelming, he felt.

Swifa upon seeing the state that her poor boy was in could help but feel her heart shatter and break as it was truly painful for her as a mother to have to witness her son in such a miserable state.

Swifa just sighed and looked around, seeing the level chaos that was happening all around them, knowing that they needed to get somewhere safe and fast but, in the state, Spedori was she doubted that he would be able to keep up with her and Fastilo that if at all he could manage to move his body.

Swifa then went to Spedori and carried him on her arms as she did so she felt Spedori ease up a little as he felt safest being held by his mother arms.

"Come on, we need to get out of here as fast as possible" said Swifa to Fastilo before both her and Fastilo raced out with Spedori resting on his mother's arms.

They managed to make it out of the city and into the dense Kinerik jungle in a matter of minutes due to how fast they were running.

The jungle was the safest place they could go to at that moment as the World Fliers only seemed to be mostly focused on the Kinerik cities but Swifa also knew they need to find a place to hide just in case the Light Brings decided to make their way to jungle.

After roaming about the forest at tremendous speed, Swifa managed to find a place to hide in the form of a cave hidden away deep in the dense forest.

Swifa, still carrying Spedori on her arms, then led Fastilo in the cave.

Once there Swifa placed Spedori down gentle on the ground, he was still shaking, frighten and frozen due to the horrors he had had to face as they left their home and made their way to the cave.

Swifa could only pity her poor boy and his little innocent mind that was left shattered and broken after witnessing something no child his age should never see.

"Will he be, okay?" Fastilo asked with the fear and concern for his brother evident in his voice as he spoke.

Swifa upon hearing what Fastilo said just sighed before saying, "He will he's just a little shaken up that's all".

Fastilo just sighed before seating down on the floor next to his brother.

Fastilo then turned to look at Spedori and the way he was shaking, far too frightened and scarred to do anything else.

Fastilo just sighed before saying, "Can you blame. This all feels like some kind sick nightmare, massive fire balls raining down from the sky, entire cities being reduced to scattered bits of rubble and pile upon piles of bodies lying down lifeless on the ground. It's enough to leave a scar on anyone much less someone his age".

Swifa upon hearing what her son said turned to look at him and although he was trying to hide, she could see that he was struggling to keep himself together, fighting not let the things he saw out there get to him like they did his little brother but it was clear to his mother just from a simple glance that he was just as scared and scarred as his little brother.

"Are you okay?" Swifa asked her eldest son even though it was clear to her that he was alright.

Fastilo upon hearing what she said paused for a moment, internally contemplating with himself on whether or not he should tell her the truth and how frightened and utterly terrified he was but then he turned to see his brother and then looked back at his mother, understanding that in the state Spedori was in Swifa had to focus more on him as he was the most vulnerable of them all, telling her about how he was struggling to keep himself together would only add on to his mother's stress.

"I-I'm fine, just a little shaken up that's all" Fastilo lied, not wanting to add on to his mother's worries.

Swifa upon hearing what Fastilo said just sighed, seeing past Fastilo's lies and knowing the truth about how deeply scarred he was by their current situation and everything he had had to see but in all honesty he was taking it all better than she had expected, after everything they had witness Fastilo had still managed to keep a calm and cool head, albeit barely, but for a child his age it was till remarkable, strength to still be able to hold on to ones sanity especially after everything around you is falling apart, that was a quality she had only seen in one other man.

Swifa then opened her hands and saw the small red stone Aselero gave her and then began to think about how reckless, stubborn, thick head and often inconsiderate he was but still he always tried as best as he could to be a good father and husband to her and would claw, scratch and run as fast as he could if it meant it keeping her and the boys safe.

While still thinking about Aselero, Swifa glance at her two sons and how even Spedori was struggling to maintain himself and his sanity over the shock and horror of seeing how chaotic and grime the world outside turned to, Fastilo who was struggling to keep himself from snapping just like his younger brother as sat down by his brother's side to give all the love and support he needed while fight desperately to maintain his own sanity and not completely break down like him.

Swifa upon seeing the display of love and care shared between her two sons couldn't help but smile and think about how, even in the grimmest and darkest of circumstance they were still a family, this thought however soon filled her with sadness upon realizing that a member of their family was gone, out there fight to keep them safe.

Swifa, upon remembering that Aselero was still out there alone and facing the Light Bringers on his own, looked at the red stone on hands and then sighed deeply with the thought of the man she loved having to face those monsters alone out there feeling her with dread and fear as she thought she might lose him to them.

She then looked at her two sons, wondering what their family was going to do without Aselero knowing that despite how harsh he seemed at times he still cherished and loved his family and so did they.

Swifa couldn't even begin to begin to imagine what she and her boys would without Aselero specially in the hellish state Kinerik was now reduced to.

Swifa then looked at her two boys and then sighed deeply, knowing that for the sake their and her family, Aselero had to return to them.

"Fastilo" Swifa said with a serious look on her face.

"Yes mom" Fastilo said with worry and concern upon hearing the way his mother spoke to him.

"I'm going to go get your father and, in the meantime, I'm going to need you to keep your brother and this safe" Swifa said as she handed her son the red stone.

"What is it?" Fastilo asked curiously, wondering what the mysterious red stone was.

"I have no idea but your father had it with him and gave to me before he left. My guess is it probably has something to do with these mysterious invaders and if they got their hands on it chances are things are going to get a lot worse" said Swifa.

"Please don't go mom" a small soft voice cried out.

Swifa then turned to her youngest boy who had finally opened his mouth to speak upon hearing his mother say she was leaving.

Swifa then went to Spedori with a faint smile on her face, relieved that Spedori finally spoke after being frozen with fear for so long.

"Hey there my little…" those were the last word Swifa could utter before Spedori, moving faster than neither she nor Fastilo could see, hugged Swifa tightly and refused to let go.

"No mom, I can't let you go, please don't go. If you do you might not come back" Spedori's mind when back to the horrific sight of countless dead bodies lying on the ruins of what was once cities now reduced to piles of rubble they passed as they fled their home before tears began to fall down from his eyes.

Swifa upon hearing what Spedori hugged her son back in a warm and loving embrace before saying, "I promise I will return and I'll come back with you father. I told you he would meet when we were somewhere safe didn't I".

Spedori upon hearing what his mother said looked up at her face with tears still falling down from his eyes before saying with a shaky voice, "Pr-Pro-Promise you'll come back".

Swifa upon hearing what her son said looked him in the eye and with a reassuring smile said, "Promise".

Spedori upon hearing what Swifa said slowly loosened his hold on her and let her go.

"I'll be back and with your father I promise" said Swifa as she kissed Spedori's forehead.

"But I the mean time I'm going to need you and Fastilo to stay safe and hidden here in this cave. Listen to everything your brother says, he'll protect you until I come back with you father, okay" Swifa.

Spedori upon hearing what his mother said just nodded his head in agreement causing her to smile at him and saying, "That's my boy".

And with those words, Swifa was gone, moving out of the cave at blinding speeds, leaving both her sons to look for her stubborn, thick headed, and reckless, husband, and as Swifa raced through the ruined remains of the great cities that once stood tall on the land of Kinerik she managed to find Aselero about to meet his end in the hands of Luminara and upon seeing the man she loved about to die right in from of her, she, without even thinking, ran straight to him, wanting to save him and return him back to the boys safely just like she promise.

She managed to reach him before Luminara's attack to hit him but sadness she wasn't fast enough get both him and herself out of the way on time, and so instead of save Aselero, she was hit by the full brunt of the attack which cost her, her life.
