CHAPTER. 72

This program recorded their challenge using the shooting method of the protagonists in a low-cost ghost film. A camera was installed in the haunted house and the guests wore a camera device. The cameramen would not follow them to shoot.

So Li Mingjue had to enter the haunted house alone as he wouldn't be accompanied by the cameraman.

As soon as Gu Mian stepped into the haunted house, she shivered because of the low temperature inside. The wind gusts, occasionally accompanied by a few ghost howling, was indeed very scary.

But that was it.

Gu Mian had followed the old man for many nights since she was a child and had also encountered a few strange incidents. She was knowledgeable. So even if she was in the most terrifying haunted house in Guinness at this moment, she did not get scared. Such a level of horror didn't affect her.

Inside the haunted house, it was so dark that there was occasionally a flash of light. Gu Mian kept her eyes straight as she wanted to complete the challenge as soon as possible.

Suddenly, a hand stretched and held her hand firmly.

Even though the surrounding temperature was a bit low, this hand was still as warm as the previous two times.

"Tell me if you are afraid."

Gu Mian was really not afraid and didn't have to hold his hand at all. She pulled her hand, but Lou Che was holding her very tightly. She could not get rid of it.

Lou Che said softly, "Don't make trouble."

In the place where ghosts' howling was heard, Lou Che's low voice was particularly clear and special. He had such a magical power. Even if he just said a word, he still had a casual and indifferent expression, but a dazzling charm.

The staff pretending to be ghosts around him got stunned and the surrounding environment suddenly fell into a kind of mysterious silence.

Gu Mian: "…"

It took a moment for the staff to remember their tasks again, but by the time the atmosphere of terror had dissipated because of their distraction, they couldn't get it together anymore.

Gu Mian felt that she and Lou Che should be the two most calm among all guests.

She was not afraid of ghosts and Lou Che was not afraid either. The hand holding her was steady and powerful, with a particularly reassuring power. Moreover, the staff was almost dazzled by his charm. They couldn't concentrate at all when they were working and every move was dramatic.

There were occasional shrill screams from other places, faintly mixed with the sound of girls crying, but here, there was only a quiet embarrassing atmosphere. Occasionally, a staff dressed as a ghost shed blood and drifted past them, but the two of them had no change even in the frequency of breathing and walking.

The staff later gave up to scare them, as it did not bring any sense of accomplishment at all.

The two of them came to the haunted house as if they were there to relax. Others were so scared to death and screamed. But these two almost regarded the trip to the haunted house as a pure walk.

Slowly, they were getting closer and closer to the exit.

The trip to the haunted house would soon end.

A snake was thrown out from a corner.

It was too dark. Gu Mian couldn't tell where the snake was thrown from and didn't take the snake to heart at first. In the scariest haunted house, there would always be some scary props, such as this fake snake that looked like a real snake.

But at the time, Gu Mian's keen sense of hearing caught an unusual sound.

It was hissing.

How could a fake snake imitate the voice of a real one?

Things were not right.

This was not like a special show in a haunted house, nor was it like a joke made by the show crew.

She stopped.

Lou Che also keenly felt something, "What?"

Gu Mian shook her head, "It's nothing, I'll be fine." She broke away from him, bent her body and made a posture that combined defense and attack.

With the dim light nearby, when the hissing snake was about to pounce on her in the next second, she took the lead in squeezing the snake of seven inches, causing it to lose all its attack power.

Gu Mian stood up without any change in her face, "Caught a little toy."

Lou Che saw what Gu Mian was holding, his eyes narrowed dangerously, "It's a real snake." He was a little surprised by Gu Mian's boldness.

The longer they got along, the more frequently she refreshed his knowledge of her.

She showed sincerity, could bring good luck to others and then was bold and fearless too.

A hint of curiosity flashed through Lou Che's eyes. Besides these, what other qualities would she have?

Gu Mian had followed the old man from north to south. She was no stranger to this creature that could often be seen in the countryside.

"This is a black snake. It's not poisonous."

But this black wasn't fed by someone beforehand. It was very aggressive and the reaction was obviously different from usual.

At that time, the staff on the side noticed the abnormality there, walked out and asked with a puzzled look, "What happened?"
