Chapter 10 : Secrets

*Lila’s POV*

I was accosted at work by Mia, my tasteful high collar blouse doing nothing to turn her off of the drama happening in my life, going so far as to say I was ‘glowing’. She wanted to hear all about my story, and God was it a story.

That’s how we ended up taking lunch on the roof. It wasn’t much, really. Just a place for the ventilation system and a few benches, but it was private—and the weather was nice today.

Maybe a bit hot—but that was more a me problem, as Mia grilled me for every little detail and tried to drag out a play-by-play like I was one of her steamy novels.

I would’ve liked to keep at least some of my dignity but literature department or not, Mia was still a journalist and I had a little less dignity then I would’ve liked.

“Oh, so mister billionaire has a biting kink. Rather tame for what I assumed,” Mia grinned, wiggling her fingers at me and I rolled my eyes.

“What did you even assume? Wait. No, I don’t want to know.”
