Everything and nothing changed with Mia and I being at the Silvius pack house. By nothing, I mean we still worked, still kept a schedule and wrote, did our jobs. It was a routine that we hadn’t lost.


We wouldn’t go out much and when we did, we were ferried to and from work either by Rafe or Leo. It was tedious, and a bit of a lengthy process but so far. Cole hadn’t struck again and no other Bolstrode’s were seen in the area, so moving to the pack house was the right move.


We were making it work but while Mia was flourishing, I was stuck in place. Rafe and I now lived in the same house, but we were still so distant. It was a far cry from what we used to be—so lovesick it almost hurt.


Now, it felt like we were strangers. Neither of us were making the first move. I didn’t want to and Rafe…well, I don’t think Rafe knew what to do to make me believe he loved me.
