I made my way through the pack house. The spark of joy it brought me to be doing such a thing still hadn’t faded.


I was here, in a pack house full of shifters! My best friend was dating the pack Alpha and she even had a wolf friend! I was living the fantasy dream, the ‘you’ve found the hidden world’ trope I liked so much.


I’d been riding this high for weeks. Sure, the whole, ‘someone is targeting your best friend and now due to association, they might kill you, too’ thing sucked, but that was kind of the standard drama and plot twist for discovering something this epic.


To be fair, this wasn’t fantasy anymore, and we were firmly in reality so that put a damper on things since all those threats were real and all those bad things in the books could happen to me and Lila. But I preferred to focus on the positives, like how I was going to meet up with Luna to discuss our latest discoveries.
