I screamed as loudly as I could, the water splashing from the tub in great waves that cascaded onto the stone floor.
“Relax! Stop screaming!” he yelled. His face was flushed red, sweat on his brow, that brooding expression was long gone.
I stood up and snatched the towel on the chair, shivering in the cold air but fuming angrily.
“What the hell are you doing in here?” I shrieked.
“Calm down!” he tried. He waved his hands palm-down like trying to hush a dog or a small child.
“Then explain what the hell you are doing here?” I seethed.
“I heard someone whimpering. I thought you were hurt.”
Lord Alrdich stood at the door of the bath chamber, having changed into more comfortable garments suited to one of his rank. His dark hair had been unbraided, washed, and hung limply around his shoulders.
The red of his face only heightened the silver in his eyes, making him all the more alluring.
