Recovery and Loss
**Lynn**
The world seemed a little bit brighter after that night. I remember walking back in a daze to my room after seeing Clara awake and happy.
Calix had stepped in and saved me.
I shivered every time I thought about it and the moments before.
I was serving Lord Hamund’s wife when she told me to bow. She said I was being rude, that I was too close to them. She said someone of my rank should know better. She demanded I show her submission.
But I was stubborn. This woman didn’t know I was a princess, born in a castle much like this one. She didn’t know my home was ripped away from me, along with any future I might have had.
But I couldn’t let her win. If I let her win, it felt like I would be letting HIM win. Dryden.
So, I stood my ground. I told her no, I didn’t have to. She wasn’t my Luna, and her husband wasn’t my Alpha.
