Eat Her Alive

Murong Rui put the matter out of her mind. Before this, Murong Yu had always heavily relied on Ari.

"Today is the day Yuan and I have agreed to meet. Bring me that wide-sleeved dress..." Murong Rui said.

After dressing up, Murong Rui left the house. As for the words from Murong Yu, Murong Rui chose to ignore them, refusing to believe that Murong Yu would so easily give up on Huo Yuan.

Murong Yu didn't expect to get her hands on Murong Rui's love letters for Huo Yuan so quickly.

"Lady Rui has left the manor, allowing me to retrieve these," said Juan'er, kneeling on the ground.

"You did well. How is your mother?" Murong Yu asked.

"Thanks to the ginseng you provided, my lady. My mother received timely treatment. Her high fever has receded since last night," Juan'er responded.

"That's good to hear." Murong Yu ordered Aman to open the love letters.

Murong Yu didn't want to sully her eyes by reading them herself. Aman obliged but became increasingly infuriated as she read.

"How could Lady Rui do something like this behind your back? It's absolutely shameless!" Aman said angrily as her face turned red. "The elders from both families have already consented, deeming Young Lord Huo as your fiancé. As soon as his mourning period is over, he will officially propose. How could Lady Rui do such a thing!"

"Juan'er, you may leave," said Murong Yu, expressionless.

Juan'er knew that Murong Rui was doomed and felt no fear; she was, after all, acting on behalf of Murong Yu.

"My lady, what are you planning to do? There's irrefutable evidence. How are you going to deal with Lady Rui?" Aman said through gritted teeth.

Murong Yu chuckled, "Deal with her? I plan to bless her union."

Aman was stunned. She thought, 'Had my lady gone mad from anger?'

Murong Yu took a sip of tea, pleased, and said, "Not only will I bless her, but I'll also ensure she marries Huo Yuan legitimately."

After rebirth, aside from being one step too late in saving Ji Chengxuan from an arrow, everything else had been going smoothly for Murong Yu.

"My lady, have you gone mad? You're talking nonsense. Why would you bless Lady Rui, especially after what she's done? What about you?" Aman couldn't come to terms with the idea of Murong Yu breaking off with Huo Yuan, especially knowing how much Murong Yu liked him.

"He acts like we're mutually in love on the surface, but writes these kinds of love letters to Murong Rui behind my back. Aman, do you still think I should have any hope for him?" Murong Yu asked as she looked at Aman.

Aman shook her head and said, "You're right; he doesn't deserve you!"

"But then, why would you still bless Lady Rui? Both you and Madam have treated her so well," Aman added.

"Both Murong Rui and Huo Yuan were ungrateful wretches," said Murong Yu coldly. "So why shouldn't I put them together?"

"But it benefits Lady Rui; it's exactly what she wants," Aman said. She still wasn't satisfied.

"Benefit her? How could it?" Murong Yu smirked.

Without Murong Yu acting as a buffer, Murong Rui, a concubine-born daughter, marrying into the Huo family would bring no advantages to their current situation. The noble title of the Huo family would end with Huo Yuan's generation, and they were desperate for a powerful marital alliance.

In Murong Yu's previous life, she had been the unlucky one chosen for this purpose.

This time, Murong Yu would let Murong Rui marry smoothly. As a daughter born to a concubine taking the place of a new wife of the noble Huo family, Murong Rui would be as useless as chicken ribs.

In Murong Yu's opinion, Madam Huo would surely 'devour' Murong Rui.
