Hear Me Out

There was also that cousin of Huo Yuan, similar to Murong Rui in style, who appeared delicate and weak.

In Murong Yu's past life, even though she had tried her best, she still paid a hefty price to deal with Huo Yuan's cousin. In the end, it was Murong Rui who reaped the benefits.

This time around, Murong Yu would want Murong Rui to face it all herself.

"There's more drama to come." Murong Yu comforted herself.

Aman knew that Murong Yu was incredibly smart. Seeing Murong Yu so composed, Aman finally breathed a sigh of relief and said, "My lady, what should we do with these love letters?"

"Keep them. Have someone wait for Murong Rui to come back to the manor and ask her to see me," said Murong Yu.

On the other hand, Murong Rui was quite pleased with today's rendezvous. Huo Yuan finally lost control. Just before leaving, he trapped her in his embrace and kissed her passionately, leaving her feeling emotionally unsettled.

However, Murong Rui managed to compose herself. Although she felt weak from the kiss, she eventually pushed him away. She said, "Yuan, please... don't do this."

Murong Rui gave Huo Yuan just enough to taste sweetness but withheld the rest. As they parted, Huo Yuan's eyes revealed an unmistakable possessiveness. Like a startled squirrel, she hurriedly lowered the carriage curtain, which made him laugh.

"Rui, please bear with me a bit longer," Huo Yuan said affectionately.

Huo Yuan's words, tinged with guilt, pleased Murong Rui. She was not afraid to wait. The more she waited for him, the guiltier he would feel toward her.

'Murong Yu would never be able to win Huo Yuan's heart. Even if she married him first, in the end, he would only favor me!' Mruong Rui thought.

As Murong Rui passed by Westbloom Street, she noticed that her cosmetic shop was bustling with customers, which made her even more satisfied. The saying "prosperous in both love and career" could not have been more accurate. She felt great.

After returning to the manor, Murong Rui heard that Murong Yu had asked for her and Murong Rui went over without any further questions. Even before Murong Rui saw her sister, her cheerful voice came through, "Sister, so you finally agreed to see me."

It was a voice full of both blame and coquettishness as if Murong Rui had forgotten all about Murong Yu discovering her secret.

Aman blocked Murong Rui's way with a cold face and said, "Lady Rui, my lady asked for you to wait here!"

"Where's my sister?" Murong Rui asked, smiling.

"My lady is copying scriptures in front of the Bodhisattva statue and isn't done yet!"

"Then I'll wait inside for her." Murong Rui said casually.

"Didn't you hear what I said?" Aman said sternly and stared at Murong Rui. "My lady told you to wait outside!"

Murong Rui paused, then looked at Aman's face and asked, "Are you sure she wants me to wait here?"

"Why? Do you have a problem with my lady's instruction?" Aman retorted mockingly.

Murong Rui clenched her teeth inwardly. Even a mere servant dared to show her disrespect. But she said, "Of course not."

However, Aman's attitude did make Murong Rui furrow her brows. Murong Rui thought, 'When had Aman ever dared to act this way towards me? What was going on today?'

Considering a possibility, Murong Rui felt her heart skip a beat. But she quickly shook her head.

'It was impossible for sister to know about my meeting with Huo Yuan today. All the letters I exchanged with Huo Yuan passed through Huo Hongyu's hands. Only Qiao'er, knew about it because I didn't trust anyone else. So how could Murong Yu possibly know? Impossible.' Murong Rui pondered.

However, when Murong Yu came out and threw the envelopes of the love letters in front of her, Murong Rui's face turned pale. Murong Rui stammered, "Sister, hear me out..."
