Chapter 6:Chaos

The next morning,he woke up early as usual and it been a school day he quickly got ready and wore some black cargo with a big black t-shirt and some white sneakers.After brushing his teeth he quickly went downstairs and made a light breakfast for himself composed of an egg and some milk and cereals his parents Mr and Mrs Smith woke up for work then and after a few greetings of good morning they started to prepare for work already used to their son's few words and cold attitude.Before leaving he also woke up Hazel his little sister whom when it came to school days would always put up a fight hence it took him a while .This did not make him upset though as he only had a slight smile on his face used to the little girls antics during school days .After ensuring she was awake and in the bathroom he quickly picked up his backpack and left for campus .

Since his school was not that far ,he boarded his usual morning bus .At the back of the bus his mind seemed to be roaming all over but his trademark slight from and creased eyebrows was still plastered on his face.The bus driver who knew the routine dropped him off at the campus gates and since it was a first early morning period class not many people were around he quickly in used his students ID for verification and started the still long trek to find his class"Is this seat taken ?"Asked a nerdy looking kid with glasses that had quite thick lenses .With a slight shake of his head Cliff replied to him and went on ahead to ignore him.He patiently waited for the professor to walk in as he just scrolled on his phone doing nothing in particular.The class a core for his forensics course was on DNA profiling and the professor was a quite old man who did not tolerate missing his classes hence the full class.

Time flew by quickly and without knowing the three hour long lecture was done.He got up slowly and didn't care to wait and chit chat with his fellow mates since he saw it as a waste of time .After gathering his books he quickly left the class.In the hallway on his way to the school library where he usually stayed to pass time waiting for his next class ,he suddenly received a call from Ella .He as if anticipating something decided not to ignore her calls like he normally did."Have you heard the news have you seen the seen the news oh my God can you imagine that I can't believe it we are both suspects and we are going to jail my parents are quite angry where are right now?"came a loud voice from the other side of the call . "Will you come down and talk slowere and comprehensibly I didn't understand what you said ,"replied Cliff with a slight creased eyebrows,"just take a deep breath and think clearly okay calm down and tell me what happened."He continued with a slightly soft voice .

"Am sorry it's just that am so worried right now . Apparently we are suspects in the kidnapping the senators daughter I mean everyone else who attended the party is also a suspect and the police may come to you anytime soon for questioning .Are we gonna go to jail ?I don't even remember what happened how was she even kidnapped in her own home?"continued the scared and shaken girl who had now calm down a bit to be understood on the other side.Cliff who knew it was pointless to keep talking to her in her condition just gave her some slight calming words before hanging up .After stopping for some few minutes a slight sadistic grin formed on his face as he mummerd some few words which sounded like "let it begin."He then continued to the library as if nothing had happened .

The rest of the day went on without any drama at least for him as the whole of the campus and the nation was in an aproar following a leak of the kidnapping of the senators daughter to the media Everyone seemed to be in a panic some took it as an opportunity to make money by spreading speculations online while all media outlets surrounded the senators home seeking answers or just anything to report to the mass.As chaos soon started spreading with fear of the mafia being behind some people speculated it is an act of teenage rebellion for attention.

After a tough day of classes at around 4 PM Chassy was finally done with his classes and he quickly boarded another bus to go back to his part time job at the Chen's Bookstore and library.All around the bus everyone was talking about the kidnapping as small whispers filled the bus. Everyone with their own theory but others simply brushing it off and others seemed to side with the kidnappers just to vent off hate against the politicians who never fulfilled their promises .

"So what do you think young man they do deserve it, don't they?Years of stealing public funds , i say they never find her as atonement for his sins ,"said a middle aged man who tried striking a conversation with him .Cliff ignored the man pretending to be listening to music on his phone.The man noticing him ignoring him clicked his tongue in annoyance as he went on a full rant about how disrespectful young people had become all of which was entirely ignored by Cliff who seemed oblivious to the harsh words directed towards him.He got to his stop and quickly alighted.
