(Kennedy's Pov)
"I can't get any woman I like? humph what a joke. And how dare that piece of trash call me ugly and say that to my face." He thought as he sat at the counter yet to leave the place and eager to prove his words.
It was not the first time he had heard those words and rumors used to spread back in his days in high school that he was adopted due to his missing points in the looks department compared to his especially his little sister, but no one had ever dared to say that to his face.
As he sat there in thought his eyes seemed entranced at a lady in the bar, she seemed to be a worker at the place and was gracefully taking orders and handing out drinks to various people there who were ordering nonstop. Time suddenly seemed to come to a stop, and he could not stop ogling at the woman, he looked entranced by her graceful figure and her enchanting smile plastered on her face as she served the multiple things. He suddenly smacked his lips as an evil grin made its way to his face, he stood up and made his way slowly to the tiny woman who was unaware that she'd become someone's prey.
'krink'kking'kachaa' "ow what the, am sorry sir I didn't see you am truly sorry," came a tiny voice. The source of the voice was obviously the beautiful bartender. "Are you blind you stupid woman? Do you know how much this cost you just spilled your drinks on my clothes and watch and now they're ruined, can you pay for them?" came a barrage of insults instantly from Kennedy who had come up with a trick to trap the poor lady.
Before they could talk more ,the manager of the place came runing and started apologising once he saw the scene before him which was explainable eithout words. "We are deeply sorry Mr Kennedy she did not mean to and we'll deeply compensate you for all your belongings damaged from this incident," he quickly said cupping his hands as he apoligised.
Ken who was angry at been interrupted went off again accusing them of poor service and demanding an exurban amount of money from them. At this point Heri the young female bartender was on the verge of tears from the huge price tagged. She was a young college student just said goodbye to her teem years and was now twenty.
She was working at the huge posh bar at night in order to afford her law school bachelor's which was not cheap at all. She had gotten the job from the recommendation of a rich course mate and although it was the best of places to work, she was still happy she found some place in order to afford all her bills. She had been working there hard enough for more than three months and nothing bad had happened apart from the normal few brawls until then. She had instantly apologized to diffuse the situation and avoid further escalation despite knowing it was the stranger's fault who had approached from her blind spot as she was carrying the drinks to the tables. But who knew the stranger would escalate the matter.
Despite the managers efforts to diffuse the matter, Ken still insisted on payment. "You know if she can't afford i can forgive her, but shell have to accompany me for a bit tonight, am a gentle man and I'll take good care of her. What do you say manager Kay?" He said with an evil smile finally showing what he really wanted from the earlier interaction.
As he watched the astonished reaction from two other people, he felt good of himself and his plan. He was sure that the girl would not dare say no. He felt good that and revigorated since when he was abroad, he didn't dare act unbridled since he did not have anyone to clean up his messes, but here back home he and his family had all the power.
As he remembered his sister's incident, he harrumphed inwardly thinking how they'd catch the other party and make them suffer since everyone had to bow down to their power. He slowly refocused and looked at the two sure of the answer.
Kay slowly sighed as he thought, he honestly valued and viewed the young lady Heri as a daughter. Her diligence and hard work reminded him of himself when he was young as he also had humble beginnings'. He had been in the business long enough and knew whom to offend and not to he naturally was also aware of the senator's son misdeeds from the past and would hate to leave such an innocent girl in the hands of the monster.
These thoughts and dilemma continuously attacked him, caught choosing between his humanity and the business which was also owned by others in power. light in his eyes slowly deemed as he came to a hard decision. He slowly and painfully opened his mouth and muttered "Heri I think...
Before he could finish, he was rudely interrupted by a voice. Sir were going to need you to come with us. Two muscular men stood near them staring at the three. The two were his bodyguards whom he had avoided to sneak away and go out with his friends. His father who feared his unknown enemies had made it a requirement for his family to go out.
Before he could argue he received a phone call and carefully shut up and followed the two off. The manager and employee were left there stunned but each let out a huge sigh of relief as if she had just unclenched a fist she didn't even realize she was holding, the weight of a thousand unspoken words finally slipping off her shoulders, leaving behind a quiet space that felt both strange and profoundly peaceful.
Kay felt guilty as he was about to hand out the small person to the wolves, but she didn't put it against him as she was aware of the power hierarchy. Despite his warnings to stay away from work for a few days, she stubbornly refused choosing to face this head on.
Somewhere a distance away a handsome youth, the complete opposite of the senator's son looks wise, a sharp faced youth stood at the balcony his eyes staring at his phone on his hands, watching a video of bar brawl. Cliff the youth in question, slowly looked up and with an unreadable expression went slowly mattered, "guess the snake has been lured. He's back," he gave off a cold smile and went back inside his room.
