Beginner Town no. 101

After looking through all the classes, Vann picked one of the suitable class for solo players like him.

"I'll go with fighter." Vann said.

Rachel nodded as she waved her hand towards Vann, covering him in a white light while the system notified him.

[You have chosen the Fighter class. Congratulations! You are now an Apprentice Fighter. You have gained the following:]

All basic attributes +1

Vitality +1

Strength +1

+40 Atrribute points

Enhanced Attack skill

"Since you now have a basic class, we are almost done. You are free to use the attribute points that you got in any way you want, even if you decide to save it for later. But if I may, I highly suggest you immediately allocate them because you will be too weak to do anything if you do so otherwise." Rachel patiently told Vann.

"The last tip that I can give you is once I teleport you to your beginner town, head to your class building immediately. There, you can get your starting weapon and you can also learn from the instructors if you wish. Anything you like to ask, mister Vex?" Rachel asked as she looked at Vann in the eye.

Vann shooked his head and smiled. "Nothing. Thanks for the help miss Rachel."

For the first time ever since they met, Rachel smiled. "Very well then."

Vann can't help but admire Rachel due to how beautiful she looked when she smiled. He instantly averted his eyes before he can stare too long as to avoid any troubles because he knows that NPCs in BFS might as well be real persons with their own personalities. In fact, BFS wasn't the first game that had real like NPCs. The most recent VR games, especially those made by Maxima have this feauture. So it would be the best for him to treat her as a real person.

Rachel continued without minding Vann's actions. "I will now teleport you to a random beginner's village. I hope you will achieve great things in your journey mister Vex."

She pointed her palm at him as Vann was covered in a flash of white light that forced him to close his eyes.

[You have discovered Beginner Town no. 101.]

When he opened them later, he saw that he was now in a town that has some differences but still resembles the feeling and appearance of the modern world.

Players and NPCs alike filled the streets. If not for the diamond symbol above the players, it would have been hard to discern if someone is a player or not because of how realistic the NPCs behave.

While Vann was looking around, he noticed that he was standing inside a circle shaped platform with glowing lines inscribed on them. Occasionally, flashes of white light would suddenly appear from time to time as new players were teleported to the village.

Thinking that the circle was the spawning area, Vann stepped out of the circle and headed to an open space where there are only a few people standing around.

'I should follow her advice and use up my points first.' Vann thought as he opened up his status page.

For a moment, Vann felt surprised when he lookedt at his status screen. This is because he didn't expect to have 8 attributes. Usually in most games there will only be less than 5 attributes, with the upper limit going up to 6. So one can see why his reaction is justified.

Then Vann decided to check out the skill he got and once again, he was startled by what he saw.

[Enhanced Attack]

Common skill

Deal bonus damage to your next attack.

Cost: 5 mana

Cooldown: 3 seconds

"What the fuck?" Vann can't help but curse when he saw that there is no damage modifier stated in the description of the skill.

Without the damage modifier, how will he know how much damage can he deal and what stat to focus on to improve his skill's damage? That is the main reason why he is feeling so confused right now.

With so many attributes to choose from, he doesn't have any idea on what to increase. Of course, it would be common sense to put most if not all of his APs into the 4 physical attributes since his class is a fighter. But the problem is, his instincts is nagging him to not do that.

So far, the game has already been too different compared to most rpg games that he played in the past that Vann can already expect that most common sense in traditional rpgs will not apply in BFS. And even if that's the case, if there's one thing in this world that he trusts, it would be his instinct which has helped him multiple times in his whole life.

After standing there in deep thought for a few seconds, Vann finally made up his mind and decided to place his trust in his instincts as he distributed over half of his APs while leaving some free points in case that he got it wrong.

[Do you confirm spending the allocated attribute points?]

'Here goes nothing.' Taking a deep breath, Vann confirmed to spend his APs.

The moment he did so, he immediately felt changes in his body. To summarize it, he felt better in every way. However, this fact made Vann frown as he never experienced this sensation in the past VR games.

'This game is wierd.' Vann thought as suspicion arose within him.

Looking around and seeing that no players are acting weird, he decided to push his suspicions aside for now as he checked his updated status page.

With his APs partially spent, Vann then focused on his next task based on Rachel's suggestion. To head to his class' building.

Thankfully, he didn't need to wander the whole town to find it since there are signs in the town showing the direction of the important places in the town, which includes the 8 different class buildings.

After seeing the sign for the fighter class building, Vann followed its direction and in a few minutes he reached a big building with a red theme and a big sign with the symbol of a sword and the word "Fighter" right above its entrance door.

Without furder ado, Vann entered the building.
