Holding his shield in front of himself with his left hand, Vann ran towards the dog with his sword in hand ready to strike.
"Grrr!" Noticing Vann's actions, the dog instantly turned hostile as it growled in anger. With its legs bent, it propelled itself towards Vann when he got in range of the dog.
Remaining calm, Vann smirked when he saw the dog charging. He briefly stopped running for a split second and in that moment where his right leg is in front of him with his toes touching the ground, his right leg bursts with strength giving him an explosive boost in speed.
The dog who is currently in midair was unable to do anything as the wooden shield collided with its head, making it yelp in pain while a damage number appeared above its head.

As for Vann, he only felt his arm ache due to the force of collision but he pushed through it, sending the dog backwards. Meanwhile, a negligible number appeared above his head.

Without even waiting for the dog to land on the ground, Vann continued on his assault as he executed the movement of the skill Enhanced Attack, which from what he saw from the tutorial for the skill earlier is a normal downward slash with his whole body's strength behind the attack.
At that moment, Vann felt a weird sensation in his right arm. At the same time, his sword glowed in a faint blue light as it came slashing down from above as it struck the dog's body, leaving behind a large gash as blood splashed in the air.

The dog cried out in pain as it fell to the ground in a sorry state before it slowly stood back up. Its furious eyes glowed red as it barked in rage before charging at Vann again.
Vann's eyebrows creased together when he remembered the weird feeling in his arm earlier but he put it aside for now because he was still in the middle of a fight.
He briefly glanced at the notification showing his accuracy before turning back to the dog. Seeing it coming towards him again, Vann didn't bother to defend himself this time because he wanted to test out how much pain he will feel at 30% pain sensitivity in his settings coupled with a 100% brain integration rate.
This time, the dog didn't leaped but instead just ran to Vann and when it got close, it bit Vann's legs with a growl.

Vann frowned as the pain struck him. He felt as if there are several sharp things trying to pierce into his legs at the same time. The pain felt real as he expected because of the 100% integration rate but thankfully BFS can reduce it to a manageable degree depending on the player's preference to keep their sanity.
Finished with his experiment, Vann decided to finish the fight once and for all. He stabbed the dog in the head reducing it's hp to 0 as it turned into blue particles which quickly fades away in air.
[You gained 1 exp!]
On the ground where it used to be lays a single copper coin.
"Stingy as always." Vann picked it up and sighed in irritation due to how low the amount of coin and exp he gained from the dog.
'Well i guess its only natural since it's easy to kill them. I guess this dogs are just made that way to accustom us to the 100% integration rate easily.' Vann thought to himself and a quick look around the area proved his thoughts as all the dogs that spawned got taken out in less than a minute by the players. Of course, there are some exceptions to this as he saw some rare case of scared players which made the fight take a lot more time than it should be.
At that moment, Vann started thinking whether to continue grinding in this place or to head to the forest to find more rewarding monsters.
After a few seconds, Vann decided to go the forest instead to not waste time as there are too many players hunting in the fields which made it hard to grind.
While walking towards the nearby forest, Vann opened up the forum for BFS and looked for some news, particularly those concerning about the distribution of their attribute points.
He wanted to see if what Mike said is true. Since he was going to a more dangerous area, every little bit of attributes can help in the fight. And even though he knew that, he is still reluctant to blindly spend his APs without knowing the correct way to do so because in his mind, the 16 APs he had can make a significant change.
If he by chance have made a mistake, he might be forced to restart and create a new account which he would very much want to avoid at all costs.
A few minutes later, Vann saw a post in the trending page that already has gained a lot of views. The title of the post is "I got damaged from my own spell!".
Vann's eyes lit up as he immediately clicked and read the post.
"What the fuck is this game?! When I used the Magic Bolt spell, instead of doing damage I was the one that got damaged instead! I ended up dying from the dog because of this bullshit! The system notified me that it was caused by a backlash but it didn't told me what caused the actual backlash itself. Is this a bug? If so, fix this Maxima! If anyone has also encountered this problem, please comment so we can have more support."
'This is it.' Vann smiled as he scrolled to read some of the comments.
There are a lot of people that has shared their experiences of this same situation themselves and from what Vann can see, most of them are a magic related class.
When he realized that, he already knew in his heart that what Mike said is most likely true. Since they are magic related class, almost all of them should have spent their APs into the attributes that are magic related like Intelligence and Spirit. And if that is the case, they would really experience a backlash from using spells since they have so much energy while having a weak body to properly contain that energy, just like what Mike told him earlier.
And scrolling down a bit further, Vann saw a comment that has finally cleared the doubts in his mind.
"Maybe you guys have spent all your APs into Intelligence? An NPC told me earlier that your stats must be be balanced because if it is not, then you will experience some kind of backlash depending on what stat is a lot higher than the rest."
After seeing that comment and some more agreeing to it, Vann immediately closed the forum and opened up his status page to spend the rest of his APs.
