When I heard a roar, I knew who it was—my brother—spinning around as my brother hovered across from me and as Thomas was standing on his back—breathing shallowly," It's only been two weeks, elder brother. Yet that collar has you already on your knees." Innurth chuckled," Well, this collar forces our body to do whatever is happening. You seem different, little brother. Why is that?" Looking up at the sun, Thomas told Innurth," His powers have just awakened. Five minutes ago, his powers came to life." Innurth smirked," Well, little brother, I would get out of here. I am restraining myself to follow through with the order I was given, capturing you. Everyone, Allit, mother, and father, will be here soon. So get out of here." Sensing two prominent emotions from Thomas: sorrow and regret. I could feel the change within me now that my brother pointed it out. Opening my mind, I heard Thomas think,' I wish I never made that deal. I am sorry, Xyv.' A strange feeling took hold of me as a flash of lightning flew into my vision, but nothing happened. My body moved on instinct next, dodging a blast of lightning as I shook my head, surprised, realizing both were,' So I can see several attacks ahead and read minds.' Spinning around, I noticed a large lightning dragoness with a human on her back.
Reading the mind of the lightning dragoness,' He managed to dodge without looking. Impressive for one so young.' The drawback of being able to read minds hit hard. The voices from everyone assaulted my head as I shut my connection down before I fell unconscious from the mental strain. I was looking around, trying to find an exit in the semi-circle. With two of the fastest wyverns on Zaten, that would be hard. Slamming my wings forward hard, I sent a volley of sharpened feathers at my brother, who dodged easily, but that left a gap I would be able to get through. Immediately I took the chance, flying through the hole as the lightning dragoness flew towards me. Surprised at the raw speed, I dove down near the ground.
Immediately, the dragoness raced after me without a second thought. Seeing a couple of trees, I flew through them, trying to gain even the smallest distance between us. The lightning dragoness, to my dismay, as I glanced back, flew perfectly through the trees with ease. The human on her back is armed with a weapon. Fear gripped my system, causing adrenaline to pump through my system. My foresight kicked in as I neatly spun in a circle, dodging a dive bomb, and kept flying. I heard Allit growl," I know this ability pretty well." Innurth nodded and sighed," I do, too, but it doesn't work well if he isn't faster." Panting softly, I moved towards the next set of trees, an actual forest.
Breathing steadily, I made it just in time to avoid a wind blast that tore the area to shreds. Gulping, I whispered," Innurth isn't pulling his punches." Weaving through the trees with ease. Hearing the sound of electricity from above, I knew that the lightning dragoness was preparing to light the forest on fire." Allit's voice echoed through the dense woods," Get out of their Xyverinos!" Growling, I thought furiously,' I am trying to Allit; I am much smaller than you.' A powerful blast of wind smashed into me from above. Hitting the tree branch, I was over in my stomach, with the air in my lungs getting pushed out painfully.
Dizzy for a few moments, I leaped back into the air and took the darker forest areas, hoping to make it harder for them to catch me. Light from the end of the forest rested in front of me. I landed right at the forest's edge and took cover underneath a bush. Innurth landed directly in front of me with Thomas on his back. Allit landed next to Innurth as she laughed," He is quick at hiding; despite being pure white, he sure is fast." Thomas sighed," I meant to ask you this earlier, but what are his new abilities?" Allit sighed and responded," For now, future sight and reading minds, I assume he also has fire?" Thomas instantly replied," Yes, pure white flames." I took a light breath and realized I had been holding my breath for a while. Innurth's head spun toward me as he spoke," Xyverinos, come out. I know you are there."
Allit sighed," Little brother, just come out, let us bring you in." With a snarl, I growled," Yeah, no." Having the heat build up in my throat, I released a white ball of fire at them. The lightning dragoness blasted the fire with lightning, but that was all the cover I needed to change locations. Getting up to a tree, I watched from another angle as Allit chuckled," Devious little rat." Calmly watched them from my spot as the lightning dragoness hissed softly," I do sense his electrical impulses right now; he is close by watching us. Can you tell me how he fights and what style he uses?" Innurth merely glanced at the older dragoness," He is an analytical fighter; he uses the wind dance style." Thomas ordered," Wind Wyverns, I want you to prepare to blast large swaths of the forest. Lightning dragoness, ready to shoot him with your electricity; keep the voltage down, though, as he knows how it feels when lightning hits him." Allit growled," My little brother was struck by lightning. How long ago was this?" Thomas snapped," Shut up. I might tell you." She tried to speak again, but nothing came out. I realized that the only control they had was self-consciousness. The humans could force them to be silent, attack, or kill themselves as they had full control over the wyvern or dragon's actions.
Coming out of the spot I was hiding, I weaved through a blast of lightning easily. At the same time, my siblings shot powerful bursts of wind at me. Reacting quickly, I blasted the incoming wind gusts with my white flames; a large inferno engulfed the wind and flew back toward my siblings. They both dodged as I spoke softly in a firm tone," Thomas, leave me alone, please. I don't have much control over my power yet, having it for only two hours or so." Thomas ordered," Xyverinos, I am calling you to surrender." Looking at my sibling's eyes to see what they were trying to tell me. As if on a silent order, the lightning dragoness rushed at me, and with her large size, she used her tail, trying to pin me quickly. Seeing the path that the muscular appendage was taking. I jumped and rolled away as the force from the tail slammed into the ground with enough force to crack the field. Shivering, I thought,' If that had landed a hit, I would either be unconscious or dead. Now for weak spots.' Stealing a glance from the forest behind me. I breathed shallowly,' I don't stand a chance in a fight; the collar restrains them. That is my only advantage.' Sharpening my gaze at them, I choked back a sob, wanting to be with them, but I knew they wanted me to escape.
Spinning around, I fled into the forest. I was running through the woods on my wings and talons, moving as fast as I could carry my small body. Smoke drifted towards the trees and assaulted my keen sense of smell. My eyes widened as I uttered to myself in thought,' They are burning the forest to get to me!' Trees crashed down around me, with a shadow looming over me. My mother's voice spoke," My son, I am sorry." Sending a close-ranged volley of feathers, they hit their mark. I wanted to cry after hurting my mother.
Seeing a cave just big enough for me, I dove into it, moving to the back of the cave only to see a minor exit. Thomas echoed through the cave," Xyverinos, come out, please!" Without a word, I jumped out of the cave's entry to see I was near the ocean. I looked to the sparkling blue sea, forgetting what was happening or who was after me. Thomas's voice came behind me," Looking at the ocean, I see." Snapping out of my thoughts, I dove down near the water and flipped around, flying right at them. Flying straight through the tunnel, I burst through the cave and kept flying. My wings were growing heavier with each beat of my wings, now struggling to keep me in the air.
Stealing behind me, I noticed several of those strange machines after me. I began pushing my wings faster as I heard a crashing sound from behind me. A large water dragoness roughly the same size as Lady Argenta had used a powerful blast of water and obliterated them.
Pushing myself far harder, I began to glide, trying to recover, steadily drifting towards the ground. Sighing in minor relief,' How did I manage to get away? In normal circumstances, I never would have gotten away. My family is much faster than lightning dragoness and should have easily captured me. Unless they are fighting the collar, why would the lightning dragoness do so? Did she know my mother?' Shaking my head, I landed on the ground and rested on the grass below me. Not paying attention to my surroundings, a rumbling voice growled," Why are you out here so far, young one?" Still lying down, shivering, I whispered in fear," Escaping."
The voice spoke arrogantly," Look up at me, little one." Instantly knowing it was an earth dragon or wyvern, I saw a large black and white face looking down at me with arrogance in those large black eyes. He suddenly smirked," Who are you escaping from exactly? I recognize your species now. Angelic Wyvern. Those eyes are similar to former Queen Shondrass. Tell me, who is she to you?" Breathing shakily, I replied in a soft tone laced with fear," For your first question, I am escaping from W.D.D.C. Your second question answer is that she is my mother."
Taking note, he was an Earth Dragon, and under his powerful gaze, he laughed," You can't be older than four. How old are you?" Answering his hopefully the last question," Four almost five years old." He flexed his claw before driving it down towards me. With the help of my newly awakened future sight, I quickly jumped out of the way but not unscathed. The massive, jagged claw ripped into one of my legs as I sprang into the air again before flying towards the giant Mount Treaty, far from where I was. Breathing heavily as the Earth Dragon laughed," Yes, flee, little one, grow strong, and then come fight me!" Vowing to myself then and there,' I will kill him; this is a promise.'
Unaware of my increasing speed, I was much closer to Mount Treaty. Finding a cave in the tallest mountain on this continent, I decided to call this my home. My own temporary home where I could rest and recover. An echoing roar sounded from-
