The Journey

"Can you remind me again why we have to go out there and you guys get to stay here and safe?" Isaiah asked as he loaded up his gear into a backpack. "First, I need to be here to do more research and you guys are good at going out and bring back information and supplies. Second, You guys love adventure and action so much I decided this will be able to fill your desire of adventure. Finally, you were the first person to agree when I told you the plan, because you could finally leave the woods." Aiden recaps as he hands Spade some of the final items. Isaiah sighs and slouches. "Anyways, let's go over the mission again. You guys need to head towards the docks and secure a boat. Once you do that head to any government facility that way we can have better supplies for when we head to Japan. Also you guys will field test the ear plugs to see if they protect you from sound. Once you secure a boat one of you will come back to get us and escort us back to the boat. Any questions?" Aiden looked over everyone examining their facial expressions. "I have a question. Why are we doing the field testing? I don't want my life to be a gamble if these ear plugs will keep me from being infected." Spade replied putting his backpack on and tying his shoes. "Well CI should of tested the ear plugs and he says there alright so we are going with them." TJ replied as he hands CI his rifle. CI turned to see Spade and Isaiah staring at him. "I will explain on the way. Let's just get this over with." CI says as he turns and exits the woods. Spade and Isaiah follow suit as Aiden and TJ wave goodbye.

As Isaiah, CI, and Spade walked through the neighborhood towards the city they saw a few parked cars and a motorcycle at a gas station. "Are cars infected by the virus?" Isaiah asked as he inspected the car. "As long as the dashboard is off we might be fine." Isaiah entered a jeep and turned it on. He waited a bit and no sound was heard he exhaled and put gas into the jeep. As he does this Spade hops into the back of Isaiah's jeep and CI chooses a motorcycle. "Do you seriously need that?" Spade asks putting his seat belt on. "Last time we let you drive you went 50 miles over the speed limit. Luckily we were the only ones on the road but still. I also enjoy motorcycles." CI responses as he revs his engines. CI got off his bike and entered the gas station. He came back with a few gas cans and started to fuel them up. Spade got out the jeep and also helped to loot the gas station and Isaiah helped him. After they were finished they loaded the gear in the jeep and drove off.

As the drove in silence watching the street and the sidewalks for any infected. As they entered the city they saw buildings destroyed and infected everywhere. "You sure we should go through the city. Why don't we go around?" Spade asks as they creep closer to the city. "Because Aiden said we need resources and stuff and the city is the best place to look. It has stores, buildings and what not." Isaiah replies as the slowly enter the city. "Shouldn't we wait till night. They can't see in the dark." "Well neither can we." "I just don't like the look of this." "Spade stop complaining your in a jeep. Would you rather be on the bike?" Spade stopped talking as they made their way through the city trying not to alert the infected. One the infected noticed them and screamed alerting the others. CI sped ahead of Isaiah who is right behind him. The swerve through the city and passed groups of infected till they were getting close to the edge of the city when a giant Titan bursts through the side of the building. "That thing is like so much bigger than the last one." CI yells to be heard of the vehicles. "It's like 21 feet tall maybe taller!" Isaiah yells back. The Titan grabs a car and throws it at them. CI easily dodged it but Isaiah had some struggles. As they left the city the Titan continued to chase them. "How do we lose this thing?" Spade calls out to Isaiah who is constantly looking back. CI turned into the neighborhood on their left and Isaiah followed. The Titan was right behind them and started catching up. CI took a left and accelerated till he got to a fork in the road and took a right. Isaiah also accelerated and tried to catch up to CI. Isaiah saw CI's bike outside one of the houses. Isaiah and Spade got out of the jeep and ran to the house on the opposite side and went through the broken window. "Shush" CI whispered as the Titan turned the corner and watched the cul-de-sac. He checked the houses all around the cul-de-sac before giving up and heading back to what he was originally doing.

After 5 minutes the boys left their hiding spot and headed towards their vehicles. Isaiah and Spade got into the Jeep and CI got on his motorcycle. They left the motorcycle and continued towards the docks. As they were driving they ran into a town. They came to a stop and Isaiah got out the jeep. "What do we do? I don't trust this village but if we go around it we will get lost on the map." Isaiah said as he pulled out his map and showed it to CI. "The map says the docks is 2 miles past this town. We get past the town. We get to the dock." CI responded pointing towards different points on the map. "Uh guys we have a problem. I know you said the infected can mutate and from the things you described on your trips don't look like that." Spade called from the jeep pointing at the town. They both looked and saw a infected that is twitching inch towards them. Spade pulled out his rifle and aimed at it. The twitching infected saw the rifle and stopped. It took a step back put its head back and screamed at them. Which sent a shockwave towards them. Spade jumped out of the jeep and followed Isaiah and CI who are running into the field on their left as the shockwave sends the jeep and motorcycle flying backwards. "Holy crap-" "SHOOT IT!" CI yells cutting Isaiah off. Spade aims his rifle and fires it at the mutants chest. It stumbles backwards, but doesn't do the same thing that the others did. It just charged another shot. "Aim for the throat." Isaiah said getting ready to move again. Spade aimed and fired at the mutants throat causing it to grab it's throat before falling over. It exploded a few seconds later and the boys went over to check the wreckage. As they were checking CI stopped and pulled out his weapon. He quickly turned around and slashed at a mutated who jumped at him. The mutated started twitching before falling down and exploding. Isaiah and Spade braced as more running mutated ran at them. All of a sudden they are all hit by a strong force knocking them all to the right in the forest and they all hit the trees.
