CHAPTER 06
QUEEN MARTYNA’S REIGN
The LORD shall reign forever and ever.
EXODUS 15:18
Queen Martyna dressed herself in a colorful gown after that night she pushed the child king and appeared with a crooked smile on her lips while putting on her glittering gemstones. She cannot help not to put those precious things in her neck and ears, nor ignore the enticing soft fabric and colorful instead that black outfit in fraudulent bewailing for her dead king husband. She can tell it was the third hour of the day passed but nobody among her servant nor guards summoned her about the news of her king's son's dead body. Her excitement can't wait any longer.
This sort of news cannot be delayed!
She expected men or maidservants to bring her the news and all people of the kingdom will gather in front of the palace lamenting for the child king's death, like what had happened four days ago upon the pronouncement of King Nicolau's death. But she heard not until this time!
She decided to march gracefully from her luxuriant castle inside the Burlington palace. Five of her maidservant and eight guards followed her procession.
"Agnet, inquire the king's palace for the queen's visit," Queen Martyna instructed one of the maidservants with her.
"Yes your majesty," answered the girl servant while bowed herself before moving fast ahead from the queen's procession.
Queen Martyna saw Lady Ignacia with other maids following her and they bowed to her. 'I maybe forgot one thing important, that this poor woman delayed me much. If the young king had been saved from his dreadful end it must be because of Ignacia's deceptive kindness, she had been gifted with a vision of the future. Even the wise men of the kingdom acknowledged her value to King Nicolaus triumph in war.
Lady Ignacia is King Nicolau's concubine. She is the daughter of King Faustus's most trusted judicial officer. She was appointed to manage the women's concerns in the palace. She is a mother of two daughters Princess Kitara; older three years than his son Prince Mackis and Princess Sasiko two years younger.
"Your Highness, we cannot find the young king elsewhere this morning and we decided to keep this in the expectation that he might be somewhere in the palace," Elka the king's head maidservant informed her.
"You cannot find elsewhere? And you never informed your queen?" She asked with wide eyes glare.
"Forgive me your highness but Lady Ignacia knew this. She told us to search first the king before we bother your solemn wailing." Elka answered with obvious trembling in her veins.
"The king is still young and I am still her mother. Above whoever you must inform me first about his well-being." She informed intentionally put a pretentious concern. "Inform the king's eunuch to visit my palace," she ordered.
"Yes, your highness." The maidservant answered.
