DAY SIX (6)
So, it’s finally coming to an end. Sadly, it has to end, but good things sometimes have to have a limit; the famous saying goes, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but all play and no work makes Jack a lazy boy.” so it means there must be a balance between the two. So today happens to be the long-awaited’ Freak Day’, which is the centrepiece of the whole celebration. Here we get to dress less formally and somewhat casually; also, we get to socialize and mingle with other schools and make new friends and connections. Some even find their lovers there, but I don’t see where it will end.
Also, artists are invited to the event as a form of entertainment, and other students also get to showcase their talents for us to watch; finally, the dance, where ‘grinding’ takes place and is why it’s the centrepiece of the entire celebration and also breeding ground for couples to show off to we the singles. Still, we, the singles, also get chances, too, if only you want it. Some are single but not ready to mingle; you get what I mean. And as usual, we have our adorably annoying couple ‘MiLander’ with us as always, and also you are required to have a ticket before you can go in with the usual stamp process; this is to prevent the freeloaders from entering, but the hall will finally be open to them when it is time for the dance, after all, it’s our week. A week to escape from teachers and their lectures, free from homework, tests, and assignments.
That whole week was for us to relax and enjoy. And I indeed enjoyed myself. It was fun, educative, and inspiring. I enjoyed it most when those lovebirds weren’t in my sight. Lander spoils Mimi sometimes, and it’s too much like it is. Buying drinks, and ice cream, letting her sit on his lap, always cuddling her any chance he gets, holding her hand every 2secs, making sure she’s comfortable, come on, who wouldn’t be envious, even me? I don’t have feelings for him, but I’m jealous. Imagine those who do; what will they feel? Putting their annoying show of love aside, the SRC week celebration was a blast; this was our first time experiencing it since we were freshers. I even got someone to dance with, oh! Also, I was dared by a friend to twerk on stage, and guess what? I did. I danced for some famous artists on stage too. So, I, too, had my share of fun. I wish it could continue, but our mission for coming here was to study, which must always be prioritized first.
ON THE FINAL DAY (7)
The day that marks the end of the SRC week celebration. The closing Mass. It is to thank God for a successful week and for not hearing any bad news during the week’s celebration; it is all due to His grace, mercy, and protection. Also, the Mass is held to seek shelter and continuous prosperity for the school, the students, teachers, and staff. This SRC week was held close to our vacation, which means the end of our first semester on campus. One down, more to go, three semesters. Who knows what else will occur during those semesters? Nobody. I’m just eager to go home and tell my cousin about what happened during my first semester in High school. There’s more to come in the next semester, so follow this journey to unravel more of Mimi, Fei, Lander, and more new faces will be introduced, as well as recent events and encounters.
