Good day, everyone. As the author, I'm here to share my high school experiences with you. I may have to improvise some parts as my memory of events from high school is a bit vague. I aim to balance my views as much as possible. Thank you for your attention.
Fei’s POV
The beginning of the new semester is finally here, and it's hard to believe we're already second year. It feels like not long ago; we were first years. Our experiences in our first year were mixed, with some being good, some interesting, and some chaotic and annoying. Time flies when you're living in the moment. I hope my second year will be peaceful and drama-free, with no need to draw any attention. I pray for a peaceful high school life.
I'm currently on my way back to school. The distance between school and home is far, so my dad booked a hostel facility for me. Unfortunately, the girl's boarding house is complete, so I had to secure a spot in the hostel a day before the reopening date. The journey is challenging, but I always manage. After a long drive, I arrived at the hostel and found that I wasn't the only one who had to leave home early. I headed straight to my room, unpacked my belongings, signed in with the caretaker, paid the necessary fees, and returned to rest.
After unpacking, I took a shower to relieve my tiredness. Later, I had supper and called home to notify my family of my arrival and to assure them of my safety. My life’s chaotic and dramatic part hasn't arrived yet so I can rest peacefully until tomorrow.
It's morning, and it's reopening day. I'm already exhausted, and the day hasn't even started yet. We wake up at 6 am, do our chores, prepare for school, have breakfast, and then set off to school. It's a hectic routine, but we got used to it in our first year. The chores have been reduced, which is a good thing. First-years do the chores, and second-years supervise. If your assigned first-year didn't do their chores, then you, as a second-year, must do it. After the chores, we must arrange the classrooms and pick our sitting spots, which is annoying, but we must do it.
After the arrangement, it's time for the morning assembly, where the whole student body is assembled on the assembly ground. The conductor of the day leads the assembly after the necessary protocol is done, and we await the announcement from the head teacher. He welcomes us and gives words of inspiration.
After that, the conductor closes the assembly, and we disperse to our various classrooms. Teachers usually start their lessons in the second week of school, which means we have the whole of this week to settle in. New class, different sitting arrangements, but the same old classmates.
I feel exhausted already, but lucky for me, Mimi and I aren't sitting mates. I purposely placed my desk in the middle while she sat somewhere in front of the class. My sitting mate is quiet and doesn't bother me too much. There's a boy who sits behind me, and he also seems to be silent most of the time.
Today will be peaceful, and I congratulate myself and my classmates for becoming second years. It wasn't easy in our first year, with lots of free time and chores. We will be busy from here on out, and I hope we all survive. Fighting!
