Chapter 34: Factions of the Academy

"Brother Feng, third brother, you're back!" The thin male student seemed to see a savior.

"Classmate Li, what's the matter?" Qin Feng and Tang San both looked at the male student with surprise. They were familiar with him, but only knew his surname.

"Brother Feng, third brother, there's trouble. Our work students got into a fight with the noble children, and it escalated to a brawl at the backyard. Xiaowu even made a bet with the nobleman's boss. They agreed that whoever loses has to obey the winner!" The thin male student explained anxiously, having sought help from someone earlier, only to find Qin Feng and Tang San assisting the master to the attic.

"What!" Tang San's face displayed amazement. Xiaowu was too impulsive. Why didn't she wait for them to return before making such decisions?

"You lead the way, hurry and show us the way," Qin Feng instructed the male student.

And so, the male student led the way, with Qin Feng and Tang San following closely behind.

At backyard, the atmosphere was tense. The area was divided into two factions: the work students occupied the east side of the lawn, while the noble children dominated the west. Potholes littered the ground, making it difficult to stand steadily.

"You work-students are really overreaching. Challenging the most handsome and strongest boss Xiao among the sixth-year Notting College? It's estimated that we won't see you humble work-students around the college anymore," a noble male student taunted, standing before the work-study group with a cold glare.

"Little girl, you still have time to back out now. Though I wouldn't mind having an extra pet rabbit," another noble, a burly young man with a smug expression, added with disdain.

"Boss Xiao, are you afraid? If you are, then just call me Little Sister. Today's business will end there," Xiaowu retorted boldly, confronting the burly boy.

Xiaowu was certainly in the spotlight at that moment. To the work-students, she was their champion. Over the past half-month, her popularity had soared, and she commanded the respect of all the work-students, leading to the confrontation with the noble children.

"Am I scared? You don't even need to ask. In Notting College, there's only one boss Xiao, and that's me. And in Notting City, even the Master himself would defer to my father, Xiao Chenyu, the city master!"

The burly teenager pointed to his chest and said, "You dare challenge me? Do you know who my father is?"

A collective sigh swept through the crowd. No one dared to provoke the son of the Lord of Notting City. It explained his arrogance and why even the academy's teachers hesitated to intervene.

"I don't care who your father is. I'm here to beat you," Xiaowu retorted, hands on hips, in a dismissive manner. Despite her defiance, her youthful appearance softened the confrontation, adding a touch of innocence.

Wang Sheng, unable to contain his amusement, chimed in, "My, my, have your work-study students stooped so low? Taking orders from a little girl who's still wet behind the ears?"

Xiaowu was quick to reply, her impatience evident as she stomped her foot. "Enough talk! Let's fight!"

"Very well," Dai boss said with a smirk. "Let's make it fair. Ten of yours against ten of ours. We'll take turns fighting, and whoever wins continues to the next round. We'll keep going until everyone on the opposing team is defeated. How does that sound?"

The proposal revealed a hint of cunning in Dai boss's eyes. While the noble children were evenly matched, the work-study students were not. Most were weak, with only one or two strong fighters. It seemed like a surefire strategy for their victory.

Even if Xiaowu was strong, facing multiple opponents in succession would be challenging even for a tiger.

"Alright, let's do that. Who among you will go first?" Xiaowu replied directly, unaware that Wang Sheng, standing beside her, wanted to intervene. Having been at the college for so long, Wang Sheng understood Boss Xiao's tactics well. It was clear that they were setting a trap for Xiaowu.

But now that Xiaowu had agreed, there was no turning back.

"Little Sister, shall I go first? I know some of them, and we've fought before," Wang Sheng offered, gritting his teeth. He hoped to help Xiaowu by taking on a few opponents initially.

"Sure, go ahead," Xiaowu's elder sister said to Wang Sheng.

"Wang Sheng? I never said this was about me. I just stood up to tickle them," Xiaowu clarified, her determination unwavering.

The male student holding a stick smiled slightly at the corner of his mouth and addressed Wang Sheng. As his voice faded, a slightly thin male student stepped forward.

"This time, your opponent is me, Skin Wind, eleventh level, one ring. My martial spirit is the Silver Ring Poison Vine." A white soul ring hovered in front of everyone.

"An eleventh-level Soul Master!" Many work-students gasped in astonishment. They hadn't expected Pi Feng's promotion.

Wang Sheng felt a twinge of uncertainty. Whether he could withstand the gust of wind in front of him remained a question.

None of their work-students possessed a soul ring. Now, among the noble children, both Xiao Boss and Pi Feng had soul rings. It seemed that the odds were stacked against them today.

"Frightened? After being at my mercy for so long, it's about time you faced the consequences!" Pi Feng's mouth curled into a slight smile, his eyes cold. Honestly, he felt like thanking that kid named Qin Feng from last time.

"After recovering from his injuries, he went home and faced interrogation from his family, providing him with an opportunity to embellish the story.

Back then, his family had provided him with precious herbs and had even personally captured a plant-based soul beast that has age of an 80-year-old green bamboo. Now, he was brimming with confidence; if he encountered that kid named Qin again, he could easily blow the other person's head off.

"Huh, those guys who got beaten by Brother Feng last time, I didn't expect them to come out and bark as soon as they've healed."Wang Sheng sneered, adding fuel to the fire.

"What did you say?!" Pi Feng's eyes flashed with cold rage at the mention of his defeat. It was a sore spot for him.

"Are you deaf? Or just stupid?" Wang Sheng taunted with a smirk.

"I think you're asking for trouble!" Pi Feng lunged forward.
