Chapter 69: 3rd treasure chest

He lay leisurely on his bed, then opened his status bar to check his progress.

"The soul power value has already reached over ten million?" Qin Feng looked at the data in disbelief. He had taken thousands of deep breaths today, which explained why he was feeling a bit of liver pain. He wondered what the third treasure chest would contain—another soul bone? Or perhaps a soul beast?

Rubbing his hands in anticipation, he activated the treasure chest. The purple chest slowly opened, and a faint red light emerged. A small red bead floated up, shimmering with a clear, radiant glow that emanated a powerful aura. Just inhaling its fragrance made Qin Feng feel completely rejuvenated, even more so than any tonic he'd ever had.

"If I'd had this thing with me earlier today, I wouldn't have felt tired at all. I probably could've run the whole day nonstop," Qin Feng mused, excitement bubbling up inside him.

He reached out to carefully take hold of this mysterious bead, but something unexpected happened. As soon as his hand touched the red bead, a scar on the back of his hand vanished instantly, leaving his skin looking smooth and unblemished.

"What… It even has healing and beauty-enhancing effects?" Qin Feng muttered, surprised.

The scar had been a mark left behind from his time in the Wuhun Temple. After his Martial Soul awakening, Qian Daoliu had struck his hand with a hammer infused with soul power. The wound had been severe, and although the temple's special medicine had healed it, a scar remained. He hadn't expected the mysterious bead to repair even that.

As the treasure chest closed, Qin Feng held the bead in his hands, marveling at its properties. Just then, he felt a sudden restlessness in his left hand. Before he could react, a black, ugly worm jumped out of his palm, opened its massive mouth, and swallowed the precious bead whole!

Qin Feng stood there, dumbfounded, frozen in place for a few seconds.

"I… I must be dreaming," Qin Feng muttered, rubbing his eyes in disbelief. How could this happen? He hadn't summoned his Martial Soul, so why would a soul beast just pop out on its own?

He stared at his hand. The bead was really gone.

"What the…?" His mind raced, and he was just about to lose his cool when suddenly, his left wrist moved. The black and ugly worm appeared again in his palm, looking a little plumper this time. It chewed slowly, as if savoring the bead.

"Hand it over, you little shit!" Qin Feng roared, glaring at the ugly worm.

He lifted his right hand, summoning his Tiangang Hammer. He was determined to use the hammer in his right hand to teach this greedy little creature in his left a lesson!

But the worm seemed to understand what he was saying. It looked up at him, its massive teeth still munching away. Red fragments of the bead fell from its mouth onto Qin Feng's palm.

"You… You're provoking me?!" Qin Feng's anger soared. The worm had eaten his precious elixir and had the audacity to provoke him! Did it really think he was so easy to bully?

A strong gust of wind swept through the room, and the windows rattled loudly. A purple light appeared on Qin Feng's bed, followed by a dark shadow.

"Just because you're my second Martial Soul doesn't mean I can't discipline you!" Qin Feng declared. He held his hammer in his right hand, and two rings one purple ring and one black soul ring wrapped around it.

The terrifying aura filled the wooden room, causing the entire building to sway precariously in the middle of the night.

"Brother Feng! What's happening?!" Tang San, who had been awakened by the commotion, almost jumped out of his skin when he saw Qin Feng.

Qin Feng stood there, holding his massive Tiangang Hammer in one hand, his soul rings glowing ominously. And the strangest part was that his target wasn't someone else—it was his own left hand!

"Brother Feng… is sleepwalking?" A horrifying thought flashed through Tang San's mind.

After all, who would hammer their own left hand with their right hand unless they were dreaming?

Tang San suddenly broke out in a cold sweat. He remembered a joke Qin Feng had told him once—about a sleepwalker who dreamed of slicing watermelons and ended up… putting his roommate's head on the chopping block.

"Gulp…" Tang San swallowed nervously.

Could it be that Brother Feng was dreaming of smashing watermelons now? If that was the case, things were about to get very intense.

Tang San didn't dare to fall asleep again. Instead, he quietly moved to hide behind the bed.

They say you should never wake a sleepwalker because it can cause their dream to overlap with reality, leading to a split personality and a dangerous rampage.

If that were to happen, Shrek Academy could be in serious trouble.

As for the second possibility, Brother Feng might end up in a very bad state.

Tang San couldn't let that happen, so he had no choice but to hide and hope that Brother Feng wouldn't see him.

The bedroom was a double room, with Qin Feng's bed on the east side and Tang San's bed on the other side, separated by a large bookcase.

Qin Feng, still seething with anger, heard Tang San calling out to him. But he was too focused on making the worm pay for devouring his precious elixir!

"Hiss!" The black worm suddenly bit into Qin Feng's palm, and a drop of blood the size of a bean appeared.

"Enough!" Qin Feng roared. His Soul Bone Skill activated, and in the next instant, he appeared in the back hills of Shrek Academy. He dropped the black worm onto the ground.

"First Soul Skill—Thunder Burst Hammer!"

"Second Soul Skill—Titan Power!"

The dark hills echoed with thunderous booms as the power of Qin Feng's hammer struck down with overwhelming force.

That night, the entire back mountain of Shrek Academy shook violently, the sounds of explosions reverberating through the air like thunder.

Flender was abruptly awakened. He jumped out of bed and ran straight to Zhao Wuji's room.

"Could it be because we punished Tang San and Qin Feng with those laps today? Is he here for revenge?" Flender's face turned pale at the thought. Maybe Qin Feng thought it was Zhao Wuji's idea and had come back to settle the score?

The forested hills behind Shrek Academy were in disarray. An area spanning hundreds of meters in diameter had been flattened.

"Haha, looks like it's finally Flender's turn to deal with this mess tonight," Zhao Wuji chuckled to himself. But after a while, he realized the commotion was far more intense than he'd expected. If things continued like this, Flender might really get beaten up badly!

Zhao Wuji dragged his aching body out of bed, intending to go check on the situation. But before he could even reach the door, a shadow flew down the stairs, and the next thing he knew, a heavy foot crashed into his door…
