72. Aaron

A smile came across my face. I didn't feel like faking my happiness, I didn't even care. Someone had his attention on Wallace, someone could get him off my back and that way I wouldn't worry about him getting into trouble.

The problem was that I didn't even know Kyle. I knew from the look in his eyes that he was desperate, but I didn't know how far he could go. I knew Wallace had known him, maybe for a long time, maybe that was the reason he had run away and was avoiding stares.

I had to make sure I moved cautiously so as not to hurt my friend and suddenly I felt stupid. I never felt like I was the person capable of creating romance for a friend, I never thought I would have friends and yet I was walking between hallways, trying to get to Wallace before he left.

"I thought you were going with Carter" Wallace said once I reached the parking lot. I was about to take off when I climbed into the co-pilot's seat.

"You'd like that, I guess" I said.
