98. Aaron

I walked through the dark streets of the 13th district, my silent footsteps echoing in the stillness of the night. The need to find a place to spend the night guided me to the library, a seeming refuge amidst the decadence that enveloped this forgotten part of the city. The promise of books and quiet corners seemed a balm for the weary soul.

As I approached, I felt the tension in the air. Shadows seemed to dance around me, suggesting that I was not alone. My alert senses picked up the presence of some boys, indistinct figures moving nimbly in the gloom.

Initial bewilderment was reflected in their faces when they saw me fall. They surrounded me, with looks that oscillated between distrust and the perception of a potential threat.

"Who are you, who sent you?" they questioned, their voices laden with suspicion.

"Aaron, I was just looking for a place to sleep, I didn't think anyone lived around here."
