She refused to let anyone see her cry. Why? Because she had shed enough tears through the years. The physical and emotional damage done had caused her to shut everyone out.

I got home shortly after that. I wasn't really focused on speeding, but it just kinda happened because I was definitely home in record time. I walked into the house more nervous than I had been since the courtroom. Why you may ask? Well, in case you haven't noticed, my mom wasn't the greatest at selecting guys. If he was any indication, I was in for another lifetime of purgatory.
