She could clearly tell it was Leonard and Eddie, she paused and stop walking involuntarily staring at the scene of the two of them whispering happily before her and she felt her breath hitched as she felt a pang of nostalgia.

Regaining her composure, she found Lucian standing beside her glancing at her affectionately and patiently.

Realizing her actions, she looked up at him feeling nervous he had clearly seen her staring at Leonard.

Since she had already decided to put the past behind her and get married to Lucian she was supposed to totally cast away all feelings but here she was gawking at Leonard.

"Actually, I . . ",She tried to explain.

"It's okay",Lucian whispered rubbing her head affectionately. "I understand, even if you were able to cast away all emotions I would definitely suspect you anyways it's alright, the same way feelings can be nurtured is also the same way it can fade so rest assured".

"Alright, I promise I'll definitely bury any lingering emotions",Mia assured.

"Everything changes with time , don't beat yourself up",he replied rubbing her hair. "Besides I trust you".

Their little whisperings attracted Leonard's and Eddie's attention who turned over.

"Elder brother", Leonard greeted bowing, his usual warm smile plastered on his face.

"Eddie, greet brother",he gently nudged Eddie beside him.

"Elder brother", Eddie addressed him shyly.

Lucian ignored her greetings and pulled Mia closer to himself, both Leonard and Eddie shocked to see Mia looking so intimate with Lucian.

"You. .", Leonard began pointing his fingers at her about to chide her.

"Your elder sister", Lucian introduced with a smile.

"Huh.. .", Eddie's mouth was wide agape upon seeing the plantinum ring on their fingers, the platter of fruits she was holding fell with a loud crash, the fruits stumbling all over the place.

"Sister?", Leonard drawled in shock.

"Yeah",Lucian smiled. "Don't be rude, address your elder sister properly",he added.

Leonard hesitated for a while unable to utter any sentence or come up with any reasons still delirious with shock finally after a while he greeted glancing at the floor nervously.

"Elder sister",he muttered, his voice almost fading into whispers.

"Can you hear him?",Lucian asked Mia who smiled and replied negatively knowing fully what he was up to.

"Is this how you show respect to my wife, greet properly",Lucian ordered his voice laced with iciness.

"Elder sister", Leonard repeated in a much higher pitch this time, gritting his teeth angrily as he clenched his fists tightly.

"Bow!",Lucian cut in.

Leonard swallowed as he squeezed hie eyes shut not daring to reveal his dissatisfaction.

"ELDER SISTER!",he bowed.

"That's good",Lucian replied. "And you?",he faced Eddie who was still jiggered, hiding behind Leonard and fiddling with her dress.

"Elder sister", Eddie muttered and Mia couldn't help but blush satisfied at how he had dealt with them.

"Good",Lucian noded and headed upstairs.

"Grandfather said no one should disturb his rest, he's resting upstairs. .", Leonard began but was interrupted midsentence by Lucian.

"Well , I don't think that's applicable to me",Lucian shut him off coldly and headed upstairs with Mia.

Crash . . . The fruit bowl was sent crashing onto the floor as Leonard panted heavily.

"How dare he humiliate me before her, I'll surely make you pay, I'll",he grunted clenching his fists.

"Wait", Eddie paused. "Mia and. ."

"I can't believe anyone could be so shameless, she's nothing but a shameless whore, just wait in a few more minutes she'll be chased away by grandfather, just wait and see", Leonard cackled maliciously.

"Leonard, will Mia be . ."

"You worry too much, why do you even worry about her", Leonard embraced the frail Eddie.

"She should have left and spare herself some dignity but she came clinging onto that trashy brother of mine, she have only herself to blame".

"She's my sister afterall", Eddie replied.

"Stop worrying about her already . ."

"I just hope there'll be a day when grandfather will wholeheartedly accept you", Eddie replied suddenly concerned.

"That day is coming, very soon, even know if I had already lost my footing in the O'Connor's Corporation, I'll surely triumph over him",he assured confidently.

"Grandfather",Lucian greeted as they both entered the vast bedroom.

"Grandfather",Mia also acknowledged the stoic old Master seated on the sofa.

"Didn't I tell you to stay downstairs with that bastard, I don't want to see anyone related to him", Eldest Master Henderson fumed hitting his staff on the floor agitatedly.

"Grandfather, she not related to Leonard anymore, she's my wife",Lucian explained and the room was suddenly engulfed with silence.

Eldest Master Henderson paused for a while upon hearing Lucian's statement, glancing at the two of them he noticed the wedding ring, the corner of his eyes crinkled and he threw the staff at Lucian which rammed onto his kneels and made him loose his balance and staggered forward, Mia rushed forward to help him.

Eldest Master Henderson rolled his eyes at the scene. "You, do you care about your image , do you even care about the family's reputation at all marrying your brother's fiancé".

"Grandfather . .",Mia began.

"Keep quiet",he thundered interrupting her midsentence.

"Grandfather, actually all this while you know I only have eyes for her right",Lucian analysed. "Even until now she'll be the one and only woman I'll ever love".

"Back then you wished and wanted us to live a happy and carefree life without any worries or shouldering any responsibilities but now that things had changed I know you feel indebted to me right",Lucian added.

"Besides, you didn't want to disapprove Leonard's and Mia's prior engagement because you didn't want to be accused of being partial and also . ."

"Enough, enough", Eldest Master Henderson interrupted getting agitated. "I indeed know how you feel about her but this little lad from the O'Connor's family, you can marry any other lady you want".

"But what if I insist",Lucian refuted. "Growing up, I only have this one wish for her to be mine, we've been separated by several years and now that we're finally together just give us your blessings".

"Grandfather",Mia step forward. "I thoroughly understand your concerns, I was once Leonard's fiancé that alone will attract a lot of criticism and about Leonard and I , we both had a clean break, he has never like me but Eddie but for the inheritance he had to propose the engagement but that's now in the past".

"I know feelings don't die easily but I'll do my utmost best to curb it, I promise to be a good wife, walk through heaven and hell with him and a good daughter-in-law", Mia concluded.

Eldest Master Henderson sighed. "With all being said ,what else can I say but give you my blessings".
