Green Oak City (1)

After hearing about the situation, Gilgamesh smiled and said, "Let the border families start massive recruitment. We will increase the recruits to our Royal Guard and create an elite army. Let's begin with the magical warship training, focusing on quality rather than quantity."

"The current numbers stand at 200,000 soldiers; I suggest we accept 20,000 of them to become blood-ritual awakened warriors. If we do this, the Uruk Tower would have a total of 120,000 soldiers under its direct command operating both outside and inside the kingdom."

"Many mouths to feed; indeed, what we need is quality, not quantity," thought Gilgamesh as he asked, "What about the nobles?"

"We have rid ourselves of many families and members who only know how to fornicate like pigs. Do we replace them all now?" Elaine asked with a cold look.

"We must initiate city renovations; they are all a damn mess. Moreover, they should continue buying slaves from other realms. If they sell them, we buy them and turn them into citizens of the Asura Kingdom."

Listening to Gilgamesh's words, Sylphy was quite surprised. This was simply playing the role of an all-powerful god. This was even more challenging for many in similar situations.

"I will visit the forest where supposedly people can regain their lives. I have a supposition about what is in that place, so it will be very interesting," said Gilgamesh as he pondered more.

...

A few hours later, Gilgamesh opened his eyes and looked at Roxy, who was reading a book. He was lying on her beautiful legs, so he could see her normal face while she read.

"How long have I been asleep?" Gilgamesh asked as he closed his eyes.

"About four hours..." Roxy murmured as she slowly closed the book.

"I must now believe that I am lying on beautiful and soft pillows..." Gilgamesh looked at Roxy, who had her hair loose, and smiled.

"Do you think it's so difficult and uncomfortable to go through that forest?" Gilgamesh asked after fully waking up.

"It could be. My teacher went when she was younger, but most of her companions died instantly upon entering the forest."

Roxy wasn't stupid. It was hard to imagine defeating the undead controlled by sinister intent. One had to be aware that it was a place made of mountains of corpses and oceans of graves. It was brimming with a death aura, so no one dared to enter in normal circumstances.

"From what I read, the place we are heading to is divided into two special zones. The forest of bone trees and the area where supposedly graves and the undead are. Although both places were within the extreme side of the demonic continent, many humans may still arrive." Roxy thought and said, "We must increase the speed to arrive at a good time."

Gilgamesh nodded and sat up, turning his back to Roxy he said, "What do you want to eat today?"

"Something light, Eris can't stop making this garlic bread that you asked her to make a few days ago. If it weren't for Cusnfiel eating most of it, there would be so many loaves that wouldn't fit in the small kitchen," Roxy said as she hugged Gilgamesh's back in a very close manner.

Turning to the right, Gilgamesh savored Roxy's aroma and whispered to her as he brought her onto his lap, "When should we have a child?"

"Do you still remember that joke?" Roxy asked as she held onto Gilgamesh's neck.

"It was too impactful..."

"It's too inconsiderate to do it without Eris; she's your first fiancée."

"Yes, but she hasn't turned 15 yet..." Gilgamesh said as he stroked Roxy's slender waist.

"Doesn't she have a better-developed body?"

"Yes, but she's still a child..."

"I'll prepare the meal this time," Roxy said, trying to escape from Gilgamesh's clutches before things became more uncontrollable.

Thinking of other matters, their group had to pass through large complicated areas, so Cusnfiel's speed needed to be increased. In an instant, the large pig increased its speed several times, yet the house on its back remained unaffected.

Due to the existence of various magical spells, the entire journey was much calmer than expected. The weather, as they approached, became increasingly gloomy with heavy rains and strong winds.

A few hours later, they appeared at the entrance of a distant city. According to Roxy, this city was called Green Oak.

Green Oak City could be considered the oldest city on the demonic continent. It existed in a very, very old era and was unknown when it was built.

Green Oak City was also called Corpse City. Aside from people who wished to go to the forest of death, only the dying would come to this city, and it was their last stop before dying. Because of this, the price of coffins in this place was very high. Even a coffin made of four wooden planks and a few nails would still be worth some money. As for the more expensive ones, they would be made of precious materials.

Whenever a particular material could be used to make a coffin, one could find it in Green Oak City. There was a joke among the demons that if a dying person wanted a perfectly handcrafted coffin, it was better to go to Green Oak City.

Despite being called Corpse City, it didn't have a lifeless atmosphere or was lonely and abandoned. On the contrary, Green Oak City was very bustling and lively. Countless adventurers within Green Oak City came from all corners of the world. Even individuals of different races could be found here, such as demon lords, the occasional elf, and dragons.

It was one of the largest cities on the Demon Continent and was always full, to the point where it was known as the city that never sleeps!

Upon entering Green Oak City, one would immediately be greeted by old drunks and noisy commotions of street vendors. In front of anyone walking, there were countless imposing structures and grand avenues. In the sky, there were many flying structures and moving dragons.

In the street full of carriages and incredible steeds among the large crowd, the strong and weak could go together. Indeed, the astonishing number of people easily made individuals blend in without standing out.
