Where Did the Legend Originate?

It could be said that some demonic races were in charge of security, while some humans worked in this place, for example, in restaurants. They survived in this city because the ruler of this place avoided total confrontation between races, cruelly punishing those who ignored these simple rules.

Many were familiar with the situation of this place; they knew every corner and, of course, the best quality businesses in the area. In contrast to this, Gilgamesh's group, who were here for the first time, were no different from oddities, getting excited at the sight of a coffin being auctioned.

Many adventurers were traveling in and out of Green Oak City. There were groups of powerful human mercenaries being led by Sword Kings; after all, they were in hostile territory according to their historical perspective.

On the horizon, one could see countless explosions and bright lights entering the city, all of which were demons mounted on strange flying creatures. From start to finish, everyone was here for one reason, and that was the legend.

In this way, Gilgamesh's group, which was inside the hunting cabin on the back of the giant pig, was not a surprising sight.

However, the most attractive things about the group were Eris and Roxy alongside Gilgamesh. These two women were unparalleled beauties wherever they went, their remarkable allure stealing the spotlight at all times.

Eris was like the War Queen in the midst of blood-filled snow, making other people stop to give her another look. As for Roxy, she was a charming woman who gave the impression of being delicate and refined like a flower, making most think of protecting her.

Waves of pedestrians continued within the city alongside restaurants and inns and numerous street vendors. Once inside, anyone would be immersed in incessant advertising chants.

"We sell incense to scare away demons, a wooden sword, and an oil lamp are all you need to enter the forest of death. We only exchange these treasures for something more valuable than money, think carefully and make a decision before the products run out!"

"I sell fine silver swords, these works were made by the best dwarves and are suitable for killing the undead that can become as strong as a Sword Saint! I only exchange this for something more valuable: gold!"

"I sell pills to cure poison, remember that the forest of bones has many poisonous plants! If you don't have an antidote with you, forget about surviving the disaster that can occur within that cursed forest."

Inside Green Oak City, outside the large groups of powerful mercenary and small armies of powerful nations, powerful wizards or sages from the tower of mages scattered around the world, many have been buying all kinds of materials that might turn out to be fake at the end of the day.

Many street vendors shouted to find buyers. Many adventurers displayed their items on the street, while others said nothing and just waited for the right buyers.

Of course, this place was full of clever foxes mixed with venomous snakes. There were too many thieves here, but they could only deceive the inexperienced.

"The story goes that a portal once opened in this part of the world, where numerous beasts came out to destroy everything. However, a powerful wizard fought against them and sealed the place with a spell on par with the gods." A street vendor shouted.

...

At one end of the street, because it was their first time visiting Green Oak City, Gilgamesh's group stopped riding on the back of the giant pig Killa and left its care to Cunsfiel while they walked through the streets.

Gilgamesh was fine, but Eris and Roxy were a complete spectacle, announcing to everyone that it was their first time in this city, so anyone who saw them immediately knew they were easy to deceive.

After setting foot on the street, Cunsfiel, who stood like a rock at the door of the house on Killa's back, was not tempted by the treasures placed before his eyes.

"Oh, great sir, look at this treasure I found when planting apples in the land. I had to risk my life to keep this fruit alive, these apple boxes are of the best quality you will find, and they will give you great health and the possibility of improving your strength in the future."

This street vendor carefully opened a box of apples, and they were all incredibly large. When these apples entered Gilgamesh's view, the sweet smell was extremely intense.

"What's the price?" Eris was immediately tempted by those large apples.

"Great beautiful fairy, how about ten thousand demon crystals?" In the eyes of this street vendor, this beautiful woman who had never left home before is very easy to deceive.

The truth is, they couldn't be blamed. She never needed to buy anything in her life, so being with Gilgamesh, she never had to worry about money.

"A thousand demon crystals? Are you trying to scam my wife?" Gilgamesh, who was watching the amusing scene, approached with a smile and said, "Speaking of those fruits, they are of quality, but obviously, all that nonsense you said is a lie. Let me see an apple; if it's beautiful, we might buy it for ten thousand crystals."

The moment Gilgamesh finished his words, the street vendor's expression changed instantly. He immediately closed the box of apples and was about to leave when suddenly weakness attacked his legs without him being able to avoid it.

This sudden event made Eris embarrassed; she remembered how her teacher ended up being a slave for not knowing how to read. She immediately argued, "I don't understand the economy of this continent at all; what are these crystals?"

"They are coins; if they are larger and shinier, they have more value..." Roxy didn't have time to respond properly since 10,000 crystals were an incredibly large sum.

"I'll take the apples; you can take this crystal as your profit... You could live well for a year if you take care of the money..." Gilgamesh, who was about to leave, told Roxy, "Burn that man's hands; let him learn not to steal."

"Yes!" Roxy raised her right hand without hesitation, and without naming any spell, the man's hands were severed.

"Aaaaah!"

"Help, someone help me!"

Moving away from the loud screams in the area, they found a corpse inside the trunk of a carriage.

"I would have killed him, but since it's not allowed to kill in this place, I held back!" Eris had already relieved her embarrassment.

"My hands!"

Gilgamesh's group watched as the vendor, who was still running because his hands hurt, crashed into a corpse stuffed in the carriage trunk.

"Is that thing alive?" Gilgamesh showed an expression full of disdain.

"I'll take care of it!" Roxy said as she unsheathed her sword.

Seeing Roxy's sword in her hand, one of the nearby merchants whispered, "That's a undead; it's asleep, but if attacked, it will wake up!"

"That doesn't make sense; how is that thing here?"

"It was brought by a merchant..."

Gilgamesh shook his head and told Roxy, "Cut it in half." After his words came out, the corpse inside the carriage immediately stood up.

"Ahhh!"

Someone walking by got scared due to the sudden appearance. That corpse suddenly standing also scared Gilgamesh's group, making them take a few steps back as well.

When their wits returned, that corpse had disappeared.
