Chapter Forty-Seven

#Chapter Forty-Seven

Her sister rode wave after wave of grief with her after she received news that Lachlan had died in action. She moved out of her sister's place shortly after, because being in her home reminded her of Lachlan. Thankfully, she still had much of her expensive jewellery left which she pawned for money, deciding to use it to start anew in another town.

When she found herself at Dalgaco, the town was small but bustling. They loved salmon and though she always despised salmon, she grew to like their salmon. Soon, she became fond of their salmon worshipping, and attended their festivals like a true fan often. She found gainful employment and was walking around the town when she heard about a certain man who was rising to fame.

His name was Landon. And he worked in the perfume industry. He had come to Dalgaco after years of nobody knew what because his entire persona was steeped in mystery. Nobody knew anything about him and when someone tried to find out, things didn't end well for them. He was also well known for being attractive, but Serene didn't care.

Her heart beat only for Lachlan, even though he was now dead.
